Luke's POV

"You guys would not believe it!" I say, busting through the studio doors. Alex was lightly tapping on his drum pad, Bobby was eating a hamburger on the couch and Reggie was tuning his bass. He was the only one to stop what he was doing to look up to hear my fantastic news.

"What's up?" He asks.

"We're playing the Orphum in January!" I announce.

"No way!" He says.

"For real?" Alex asks, setting down is drumsticks and standing up in shock.

"What?" Bobby asks, looking up, oblivious to what I said.

"We're playing the Orhpum!" I repeated.

"Sweet!" Bobby says.

"Are you pranking us?" Alex says.

"No, I'm serrious." I say. "On my way to get a bag of new gutair picks this manger person stopped me and recognized me from the band. He asked me if the band could play the Orphum January 29th and I said yes. He said his name was like Carter or Caleb or Carson or something. Carter... Carter Cubington I think. I don't know. "

"Omygosh, that's amazing!" Alex says. "What are we playing, how are we gonna get there, when is it!?"

"Calm down we got like a month." Reggie says. "It's not till the 29th."

"Reggie that's tommorow!" Alex panics.

I chuckle. "Alex, the 29th of January. It's still December." I say.

"Oh...okay." Alex says.

"I can't believe we're playing the Orhpum!" Bobby says.

"We should celebrate." Luke says. "Streetdogs from Sam and Ella's anyone?"

"That is our favorite place." Reggie says. "And they've never steered us wrong before."

"Yeah, Sam and Ella are great." Bobby says. "Let's go."

January 29th, 1995

Me, Reggie, and Alex plopped down on the couch with our streetdogs. Bobby didn't come because he wanted to flirt with that Rose chick. He told her he was vegetarian, which I don't see how that would impress a girl unless she loves animals.

"This is it boys." I say. "We're playing the Orhpum! I can't count how many bands have played here and ended up being huge. We're gonna be legends."

Reggie smiles and Alex laughs. Tonight was the night, and none of us could wait.

"Eat up boys." I say. "Because tonight, everything changes."

We all take a bite out of our streetdogs, it tasted a little funny, but that probably because my stomach is doing backflips from being so excited to play the Orhpum.

"That's a new flavor." Alex said, whipping mustard off the corner of his mouth. He looked at the streetdog with concern.

"Chill man, streetdogs haven't killed us yet." Reggie says.

I looked at my streetdog, unsure if I shout take another bite. It was just a Sam and Ella's streetdog, what could be wrong with it? Reggie was already going in for another bite, and so did I.

We finish our streetdogs and get up to head back to the Orhum, but when I stood up, I became supper light headed and I felt really queasy.

Alex rushed to a trashcan and threw up and Reggie sat back down on the couch.

"I feel so hot yet so cold." He says fanning himself with his hand. He looks really pale, and so does Alex. I imagine I have to look the same.

"You don't look so good." Alex says, but I wasn't sure if he was talking to me or Reggie.

"Neither do you." I say. It was my turn to rush to a trash can and throw up. Reggie didn't make it to a trash can before throwing up over the side of the couch.

"It's like that time I drank a whole jar of pickle juice, but worse." He says.

"Do you think it was the hotdogs?" Alex asks.

"It was deffiently the hotdogs." I say.

"How can something so good make me feel so bad." Reggie groans.

Just then Alex dropped to the ground, passed out.

"Alex!" I go down to him, shaking his arm. His skin felt so warm. My head only felt worse, I looked back at Reggie who had fallen of the couch, passed out. My version blured before it went black.

I woke up and the three of us were in an ambulance. Reggie was to my right, Alex was to my left. This couldn't happen, we we're about to play the Orhpum! We couldn't be going to the hospital!

"Are we gonna die?" Reggie asks, voice more like a whisper.

"No, you don't just die from a streetdog." I say. "We'll be fine."

"Yeah I'm not to sure about that." Alex caughed. "Wait where are we?"

"We're in the ambulance, where going to the hospital." I say. My head pounded like a drum and I felt so nauseous, but I know we're gonna be fine we have to.

"The what?" Reggie asks, out of breath.

Before I could answer, Alex started to seize. His body shook violently and foam came from his mouth. It only lasted for a few seconds before it uburptly stoped and we head the sound of his heart monitor going flat.

"Alex?" Reggie says, voice quivering.

No....no no no he couldn't. No, he couldn't have died. This can't be happening. No.

Two paramedics rushed over with a defibrillator.

"Clear."

They pressed the things on Alex chest and his body jolted, but nothing happened.

"Alex!?" Reggie says again, trying to look over at what was happening. "Luke, what's happening?"

There was no easy way to say it, I just had to tell him. "Alex... he's dying."

"Clear."

Again, Alex's body jolted but his heart monitor was still flat.

"No." Reggie says. "No...."

"Clear."

Again, nothing.

"We have to call it." A paramedic said.

"Time of death, 9:28." The other one said looking at her watch.

"No." I say. One of my best friends....dead. This couldn't be real life.

I hear Reggie crying next to me as I was them cover Alex's body with a white tarp.

I feel my chest tighten up, and at first I thought it was from the bitter sadness of losing Alex, but I realized it was because I wasn't breathing.

"Hey, he stopped breathing over here." I hear a paramedic say. I feel a pair of hand press down on my chest, giving me CPR.

"Luke!" I hear Reggie cry. "Don't go..."

I gasp for breath, the person stops for a moment.

"Can you breath?" She asks.

I was about to tell her yes when I start breathing uncontrollably, like I was hyperventilating.

"Alright, just take a deep breath." She says. I try, but then I look over at Reggie, he isn't breathing, and his heart monitor was going crazy as he starts to seize.

"H-help him." I gasp. I couldn't lose Alex and Reggie.

"Frank, come over and help him breath, I'm gonna help this one."

The paramedic leaves me to go to Reggie. I watch anxiously as she turns him to his side. Foam comes out if his mouth and I think back to Alex. He died soon after this.

Come on Reg. I think, still hyperventilating. The other paramedic comes over to me and tries to help me but I can't focus on anything but Reggie right now.

"Frank, I don't think I can do this alone." The paramedic says.

"Go help him." I get out. "P-p-please."

"You need to take a breath for me." Frank says.

"Frank, were gonna lose him!" The paramedic by Reggie says, starting to lose her chill. Reggie stopped seizing and his heart monitor was flat. The paramedic was trying to do CPR, but it wasn't working.

"You have to help him." I gasp. "Please, go help him!"

Frank goes over to to help save Reggie, his heart monitor still quietly humming as it read a flat line.

No no no. I think. Please.

"He's gone." Frank says. "Time of death, 9:31."

I felt tears prick my eyes. My stomache felt like there was acid swimming in it, my chest was tight, and my head felt like it was smashed with a hammer. I hear my own heart monitor go flat before everything went black.

It was only a few seconds, and then all the pain stopped. I felt myself floating up. I look down and see the paramedics covering my body with a tarp. I was dead.

"Luke?" I hear Alex's voice. I thought I'd never hear that voice again.

I turn around and Reggie and Alex are standing there, Alex with tears in his eyes and Reggie bit his lip, fear radiating in his eyes as he picked his fingernails like he always did when he was uneasy. I was afraid too, where were we? And what happened? We didn't really die, did we?

"Alex? Reggie?" I say. "Please tell me that's really you."

"It's us." Alex says.

"Where are we?" I ask.

"The afterlife I guess." Alex says look around. It was just a small black room with four walls. No window, no doors, just blackness. Close your eyes. That's what the room looked like. All I could see was Alex and Reggie.

"Are we ...dead?" Reggie asks.

"Yeah...yeah I guess we are." I say.

"So we're just stuck here for the rest of eternity?" He asks.

"I mean...it can't be that bad." I say. "We have each other, and we're the only faimly we're ever gonna need."

Reggie's lips curved into a slight smile, but Alex was still crying. He tried to smile at me, but I could already tell he wasn't taking this death thing well.

It was about an hour and I severely underestimated how boring this would be.

"I spy with my little eye something....white."

"Your shoelace?" I ask, exhausted of I spy. We've been playing for the last hour, and there was nothing to spy! At least Reggie seemed to be enjoying it. Alex was still crying in the corner. At least I thought it was the corner. It's so dark it's hard to tell.

"No." Reggie says smiling.

"My shoelace?" I ask.

Reggie shakes his head.

"Alex's shoelace?" I sigh.

"No." He says. "Want a hint?"

"No, I give up." I sigh.

"It's the whites of your eyes." He says. "Your turn."

"I spy..."

We were inturupted by our game by being pulled down. We crashed and hit the hard wooden ground.

We all groan, cough, and gasp, as we get up and look around. We were back at out studio, but how?

"Wow, how'd we get back here?" I ask.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Screamed a girl.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" The three of us scream. Why was this random girl in our studio, which looked different from how we left it. Alex grabs my arm as I leap up in the air, Reggie scotches closer to me and I put my arm around him pulling him closer. We all huddled close as the girl ran, still screaming, out of the studio.

Alex let's go of me and adjusts his jacket like he wasn't just screaming like a little girl when we all were. Reggie and I still clung onto each other. When we both realized we were still in this position, we stepped apart and cleared out throats.

We later found out that that screaming girl was named Julie. We formed a band, Julie and the Phatoms. (Tell your friends as Reggie likes to say). When we play with her, lifers can see us. Everybody can hear us play, it's amazing. We were given a second chance. Although we almost blew it when we went to Caleb's club and he put that curse on us.

We had three options, and all of them ment saying goodbye to Julie and the band.

But, when we didn't cross over, Julie somehow lifted Caleb's curse and now we could touch her! How crazy is that.

Now we can still be in a band, and Caleb doesn't know we defeated his curse so we won't have to worry about him anymore. Things were finally looking up.

I walk into the studio expecting it to be empty because Julie was at school, Alex was looking for Willie and Reggie said he was gonna take a walk on the beach to see if he could feel the sand and the waves again.

But the studio wasn't empty. When I walked into the studio, I was surprised to see Bobby, or I guess sits Trevor now. As soon as he looked in my direction, his face went pale.

Wait a minute, could he see me!??

So I don't know why I keep making more fanfics like I'm working on enough but here you go. Hope you enjoyed :) ❤️
