Chapter 10

A month passed before Lan XiChen could handle everything regarding Jin GuangYao and Lan Sect matters. He wanted to find Jiang Cheng but Lan QiRen had things for him to do.

Luckily, Nie HuaiSang had called for a 3 day meeting and XiChen was excited to see Jiang Cheng again.

However, when they reached Bu Jing Shi (residence of Qinghe Nie Sect) in Qinghe, Nie HuaiSang gleefully announced that the first day was free and easy and a gathering for the sect leaders.

XiChen was happy to hear that and immediately went to find Jiang Cheng but after half a day, he realised Jiang Cheng had been avoiding him.

His right hand man kept telling him 'Sect Leader Jiang is busy', 'Sect Leader Jiang is resting', 'Sect Leader Jiang does not wish to meet anyone'. XiChen was starting to feel anxious and on the edge.

Finally, during dinner XiChen managed to see Jiang Cheng. XiChen walked over but Jiang Cheng's right hand man stepped forwsrd and bowed as Jiang Cheng walked back to his room.

XiChen sighed 'Is he still angry about what happened on the boat?' Nie HuaiSang chuckled behind his fan "Brother, you should wait for the right time"

XiChen glanced at Nie HuaiSang then smiled and nodded his head "Mn, I will" Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng thought that XiChen would follow him but he wad wrong.

Jiang Cheng sighed as he clenched his fist. He must not be soft hearted and fall into his trap again.But as he thought of Lan XiChen and how he looked so desperate to talk to him, Jiang Cheng's heart wavered.

Jiang Cheng shut his eyes as he remembered 'It's all a lie. He likes that bastard. Stop thinking about him. Let it go.'

Jiang Cheng then heard knocks. He opened the door, expecting his right hand man but it was XiChen. Jiang Cheng frowned "Why are you here?"

XiChen smiled "WanYin, we haven't seen each other in a month" XiChen was about to step in when Jiang Cheng stopped him "Sect Leader Lan. Know your place. What would people think if a proper man like you comes into my room in the middle of the night"

XiChen looked at Jiang Cheng confused "WanYin, about the boat ride, I-" Before XiChen could complete his sentence, he was hit by ZiDian, though Jiang Cheng had already minimised the force.

Jiang Cheng felt hurt but angrily said "Get out! Get out of my sight! Don't talk to me anymore!" Jiang Cheng then shut his door.

XiChen looked stunned but he remembered Nie HuaiSang words. That's right. He had to give Jiang Cheng the time he needed. But... for how long?

Jiang Cheng sighed as he gulped down some tea. He wanted to check if XiChen was alright but he reminded himself that he is not and cannot afford to be a soft hearted person.

However, after about 10 minutes, Jiang Cheng took a slight peek outside and found XiChen gone. Jiang Cheng sighed as he went to his bed, worrying about XiChen.

XiChen didn't mind the hit from Jiang Cheng. In fact, it didn't do much damage and XiChen knew that Jiang Cheng didn't intend to hit him hard at all.

XiChen thought about it and maybe it was because of Jin GuangYao corpse coming back that Jiang Cheng got mad.

The next day, Nie HuaiSang talked about the recent happenings and asked each sect to update on what they have been doing.

Lan XiChen took the chance to say in front of everyone "A month ago, Lianfang Zun came to Cloud Recesses with a letter. It seems that he had prepared the letter in advance."

Jiang Cheng was about to leave when he made eye contact with Nie HuaiSang, who disagreed with what he was about to do. Despite not wanting to hear XiChen talking about Jin GuangYao, Jiang Cheng stayed.

Lan XiChen continued "HuaiSang, the letter was addressed to you so I did not open it. After that, he made me follow him. I brought a few disciples and followed him for about two weeks or more and we have marked the places he brought us to on a map."

A Gusu Lan Sect disciple then handed the map and the letter to HuaiSang, who opened it. After that, he cleared his throat and nodded his head "I will take over this matter and discuss with Zewu Jun and give the rest an explanation. Brother, anymore to say?"

XiChen looked at Jiang Cheng then back to HuaiSang and said "And I would-" XiChen stoppef as HuaiSang had mouthed 'It isn't time' XiChen cleared his throat then gave a polite smile "Nothing, thank you"

Jiang Cheng was jealous. So they got to spend two weeks together while he was sulking and being alone. He couldn't blame anyone though. He was the one who willingly got fooled.

After the meeting Jiang Cheng listlessly walked out. He went back to his room and sighed. XiChen went up to HuaiSang, who spoke before he could "Brother, he needs time. You wouldn't want him to run away right? Wait till tomorrow"

Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng was staring past the window in his room. He thought about it and knew XiChen wasn't updating the rest but was trying to explain to him. He knew XiChen made an effort to let him know that he brought a few disciples along.

In this one month Jiang Cheng realised something. He had fallen deeper in love with XiChen. Maybe he wouldn't mind being a replacement since Jin GuangYao wouldn't be back anymore.

But Jiang Cheng's pride wouldn't allow it either. However, he didn't like that XiChen wasn't following him around. Jiang Cheng got nervous, wondering if XiChen didn't even want him as a replacement anymore.

Jiang Cheng bit his lip and decided he wanted an explanation from XiChen before he could let things go. However, seeing that he had been deep in thoughts and it was already night time, tomorrow it is.

The next day, XiChen and Jiang Cheng arrived on time, but were curious why the other sect leaders weren't here yet. XiChen took the chance and step in front of Jiang Cheng "WanYin"

Jiang Cheng glanced at him but did not know what to say. Say that he doesn't mind if XiChen loves Jin GuangYao? But Jiang Cheng does mind it. Say that he cannot live without XiChen? But his pride won't allow it!

While Jiang Cheng was still thinking, XiChen sat down in front of him. "WanYin, why are you avoiding me?"

Jiang Cheng snapped his head upwards and shouted "You're asking me that? When you were informed about Jin GuangYao, you immediately left without saying anything! This past month I heard nothing from you. All I heard are people telling me all about you and Jin GuangYao!"

XiChen frowned a little "WanYin, what are you saying? I went to your room to say goodbye but you did not respond so I thought you needed some time. I also sent you letters every week."

Jiang Cheng frowned "What letters? I didn't receive any. And you saud goodbye to me? When I went back to Lotus Pier I was sitting in the Main Hall!" XiChen frowned again "I saw a shadow in your room though... so I assumed it was you"

Jiang Cheng thought about it but shrugged it off "You could have confirmed..." XiChen smiled and placed his hand on Jiang Cheng's "WanYin, are we okay now?"

Jiang Cheng took his hand away "... Give me my letters first" XiChen showed a wide smile and hugged Jiang Cheng "WanYin! I missed you so much! You know I love you right?"

Jiang Cheng blushed. Well, he suspected XiChen lied to him. He faked a cough and moved away "I want my letters first"

XiChen smiled and nodded his head "Yes my wife! I'll make sure to find out where they went!" XiChen then inched his way back to Jiang Cheng "WanYin, can we go for a walk?"

Jiang Cheng stood up and walked towards the door. XiChen pressed his lips together feeling a little disappointed. Jiang Cheng turned and frowned "Why are you still sitting there? Aren't we going for a walk?"
