Chapter 10: The potion ✨

Draco POV:

~the next morning~

I wake up early after hearing Blaise come in. He probably tried to be quiet but he really was not. I look at him annoyed and say:"you should really learn to be quiet you idiot""good morning to you too, Draco"I roll my eyes and look down at Harry who is still sleeping. He looks so cute like that, I mean he always looks cute but when he sleeps it's a whole new level of being cute. I mean his dark hair, his smile while he dreams and his emerald green eyes..Now looking at me, Harry says sleepy:"hey""good morning Harry"He yawns and says: "what time is it?""I dunno but I know that it is too early"I look at Blaise with a death stare, signalising him that it is his fault we're up so early. Harry follows my eyes and looks at Blaise, saying:"oh hi Blaise""hey Harry, soo are you guys dating now it's getting kinda ridiculous with you two?"I can basically feel Harry getting uncomfortable with Blaise asking. I don't know why he gets uncomfortable, maybe because Blaise is being so direct..or maybe because he didn't even talked to his friends about all of this... That's why I say to Blaise:"none of your business, if we were you are gonna find out like everyone else"Now Harry is getting calm and relaxed, I can tell from his even breathing."now what is your plan? Don't you have to finish that potion?": Blaise asks.The next thing I know is Harry sitting up faster than usual, saying:"shit he's right, cmon Dray we have to go""thanks Blaise." I roll my eyes at him and turn back to Harry saying:"Harry calm down, we have all day to finish the potion and we do not have to start right now""right umm.."Something is off with him. He's not behaving like normal, if you can say his behaviour is normal. He's like so panicked and scared and uncomfortable with being asked about something. That is not normal anymore..."So I don't know what you two are gonna do now but I'll just lay down and do nothing until it's time for breakfast. Have fun"With that saying, Blaise lays down on his bed, closes the curtains and puts a Muffliato spell over his bed.Harry laid back down and says:"sorry..."I put a Muffliato spell over my bed as well cause this is gonna be a serious conversation."why are you apologising Harry?""I dunno, it just seems like the right thing to do after doing something stupid""Harry what are you saying? When did you do something stupid that you'd have to apologise for?""umm just a minute ago when I got stressed because we have to do that potion""that wasn't stupid Harry, that is normal""how is that normal?""Harry be honest with me ok? Have you ever seen Granger not stress about a grade?""No, she's always stressed about a grade or a paper or anything school related""See there you have your answer, it is completely normal for a student to get stressed about a grade""thanks..."We hug and I kiss Harry on his head before he says:"Draco, I'm tired can we go back to sleep?""yeah of course you don't have to ask, Harry"He slowly nods and next thing I hear from him is his cute little snoring. I don't fall back asleep, I just watch Harry get his sleep. I can't sleep now, I'm too awake. The fact that Harry is behaving weird is keeping me awake. His behaviour is not normal:first the attempted jump from the astronomy tower, then the eating thing, the panic attacks, then him not telling his friends anything about his life and the self harm. I don't know if he's done it in the past weeks or anything and I hope he hasn't but I'm worried about him...

Two hours later, Blaise opens the curtains of my bed, saying:"Come on you two we have to go to breakfast""yes Blaise, we're gonna be with you in just a sec""ok I'll wait at the Slytherin table"I nod and Harry slowly wakes up. He stretches, yawns and says:"what do I do now?""what do you mean?""with Hermione and Ron? What do I say to them? How do I get this right again?""don't worry about it just now, we're gonna go eat and afterwards we have to do the potion and then we'll talk to them""ok thanks""come on Harry let's go"He nods, gives me a kiss and we go to the great hall.

In the great hall, we sit down at the Slytherin table, feeling Grangers and Weasleys faces watching us. I ignore it and start to eat but I can see that Harry is bothered by that so I ask:"Harry, are you gonna eat?"He looks down at his food as if he forgot it was there and says:"I can't"He looks back at me and then at Granger and Weasley. I grab his hand and say:"cmon we're gonna go talk to them now"I stand up and Harry looks at me confused,saying:"wait why now, we had a plan remember?!""because Harry, you said you can't eat and afterwards you looked at them which means for me that it is mostly because of your argument, so we're gonna talk to them!""fine"Harry and I walk over to the Gryffindor table where Ron and Hermione just look at us confused. But Hermione quickly realises what's happening and says:"We should go somewhere quieter to talk, cmon"So we go into the corridor.As we stay, Harry starts talking:"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I-I should have just listened and I shouldn't have barged out like that, I'm-""No Harry we're sorry, we shouldn't have tried to get something out of you and just listened""Hermione is right, Harry. We're sorry"They hug. Wow that was quick, they have a really strong bond."What are you doing here Draco?": Ron asks"emotional Support for Harry cause he has something else to tell y'all"I know that Harry does not want to tell them right now but he has to. I-I kinda..."I can see that Harry is struggling to put his eating thing in words so I say:"What Harry is trying to tell y'all is that he has like an eating disorder, he's been struggling to eat and now every time something bothers him or makes him anxious or something he can't eat properly. Just like today at breakfast, y'all argued and he couldn't eat so yeah that's it""thanks": Harry says quietly "umm ok that's not good but we'll get there and umm Draco how exactly do you know about that?""first he told me and then I observed his eating manners more and figured the rest out""and why that?""because-and now for the second thing- we're dating and I'm worried about him"All three look at me confused and Harry says:"wait so now it's really official?""yes, didn't I make that clear last night"I look down at him and see that he's blushing. Then I look at Granger and Weasley who seem to can't find anything to say. Hermione is the first one to find something and says:"So, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter are dating and we're just ok with that?!""yeah I'm totally well not totally but I'm ok with that": Ron says"thanks guys but we gotta go now, we have to redo that potion for Slughorn""oh yes of course. Bye"We say goodbye too and walk through the corridor to the potion lab.

Slughorn is already waiting for us in the lab and as we walk inside he says that he will come back later because he has a class to teach.As we put our stuff down and get ready to start, Harry asks:"What exactly were we supposed to do?""Harry you know, I love you and all but you're so stupid""Hey don't be mean to your boyfriend, you were the one that did the potion last time and read the recipe, I just watched you do it""Fine, it is Draught of Peace""and what did we do wrong last time?""we put too much of the syrup of hellebore""ok then let's start and don't do that now"With that saying Harry pulls out the ingredients and prepares them while I mix the liquid ones together. We mix the potion, this time correctly and a few minutes later Slughorn comes back. He comes towards us and looks at the potion saying:"well done you two""thank you sir": Harry says politely while I nod. "Mister Potter and Mister Malfoy you're gonna clean the lab now and then you can go back to your own rooms""yes sir": we both say at the same time."I'm gonna go now and trust you two with that"We nod and Slughorn leaves the lab. Harry looks at me with a smile and says:"we did a pretty good job, don't you think?""yeah""In fact, between my muscles and your brain..I'd say we make a pretty good team!""We do. Although technically I have both brain AND muscles.""True but I have the personality And the winning smile, so..."I laugh a bit and Harry looks at me smiling. He says giggling:"Was that a laugh? Did I make you laugh Dray?! It's a miracle, Draco Malfoy has a sense of humour.""haha very funny Harry""I think it is""I know you do"I get closer to Harry and can literally feel him breathing. His heart pounding. His eyes wandering between my lips and eyes. Eventually it is enough for Harry and he just kisses me which I obviously reply. I know we should not kiss in the freaking lab with potion ingredients around us, knowing that this is not just an easy little kiss but it's just the way it is.We're out of breath and stop, Harry looks at me with blushing cheeks and says (not so innocence like he looks):"we should clean up before we keep going""you're probably right"So we start to clean up and as soon as we finish, we kiss again. I don't know why we're just randomly kissing but Harry is just damn hot and I can feel the desire to feel him in myself. We stop, standing in front of each other out of breath. When we can breathe again I use it to pin Harry against the nearest wall and kiss him again, I think it hurt him at first but the kiss: he immediately replied more intense.

We kiss a little longer when I feel Harry's hands in my hair. He wants more. He stands up, clearly in pain, and I follow him soon after.

We exchange our ties in the corridor and decide to not go back to dinner. Instead I grab Harry's hand and we go outside together. We lay down on the grass when Harry says:"Draco?""yeah?""I wanna make it official""what do you mean?"I know what he means, he wants to make us official, our relationship but we've been only dating for two weeks."Don't play dumb, Draco you know what I mean. Nobody except Blaise and Pansy and you and your friends know about my sexuality. A few minutes later, I can see Harry shivering. No wonder, it's freezing out here. "Harry let's go inside, you're freezing""I am not": he says shivering."you are come on"I stand up and hold my hand out for him, he grabs it and we go back to the castle.
