Hawks' POV

I woke up from Dabi's alarm. He had his phone plugged into a portable charger that he charges at the base. I checked the time on my phone and saw that it was 2 hours before I had to be at work. I said bye to Dabi and left. I flew to my apartment and got ready to go to work. I charged my phone as I did.

Before I went to work, I stopped by the LOV base. "Keep this with you at all times. Keep the notification volume up so you know when I text you. In 3 hours, be at your designated location." I nodded at Shigaraki's directions.

"Okay. I will make sure to keep watch." I turned toward the door and was about to step out when Toga called my name. I put my hand on the door knob. I turned my head to look at Toga.

She looked at me with a sad look. She took a deep breath before she said something. "Please don't be a traitor."

I stared at her for a few more seconds, imagining her face when she realizes that I'm actually a traitor. I didn't like the image. I felt so bad for lying to her. Then I smiled. "I'm not. Don't worry."

Toga smiled back, but it was fake. She was hiding her fear. I looked back at the door and opened it. I closed it behind me and took flight.

__________

I stared at the clock on the wall. I had to leave. I licked my lips and sighed. I got up, out of my desk chair. I turned off my computer and left the room. I went down to the front desk and told the lady to notify anyone that showed up to visit me that I'm on patrol.

Then I left. I flew off when I got outside. I waved to random people walking past. Then I landed in the spot that I was told to. I looked around before I pulled the phone out. I texted Shigaraki's number. 'I'm in position.'

I put it away and then looked around. There were a few people walking on the sidewalk, and a few cars driving past. I sighed and jumped into the air, shooting up and above the buildings. I looked all around me, and even flew around. I saw a rookie hero walking around just in perimeter of the mile. I took the phone out and notified him, telling him where they were. He texted back, comfirming that he read it.

I kept watching where they were. And then I saw something different. It was Mirko. She was closer to the meeting place. My eyes widened and I took the phone out. I texted him immediately. Mirko looked like she was thinking about going in the building.

The building was a normal house. It had a tiny bit of graffiti on the back of the wall, and dead potted plants next to the door. There was a toy car in the front lawn. It was a base right in plain sight.

I landed next to Mirko. She looked surprised when I showed up. "Hey, Mirko! What are you doing?"

She looked at the house and put her hands on her hips. "There was a call about suspicious activity. I knocked on the door but they didn't answer. I know that they're in there because I heard them talking. But now they aren't saying anything." She looked at me and sighed. "I don't have a warrant, but I don't think I should wait and see how long it takes for something bad to happen."

I took a deep breath. What could I say to make her leave? I thought and thought. And then I realized it! "You can't just break the law! You'll end up getting in trouble."

Mirko looked back at the door. "Honestly... who cares?"

My eyes widened. What? Mirko was never this careless. "What are you talking about?"

Mirko shrugged and walked to the door. She put her hand on the door knob. "I'll get praised if I stop a crime. I need the money anyway."

I stepped forward and put my hand on her shouler. I lowered my head. She looked back at me in confusion. "What are you doing?"

I took a deep breath. "I can't let you do that."

She pushed my hand off her shoulder. "You can't stop me."

I had an idea. Mirko would never act like this. I wanted to test her. "Usagiyama, you've known me for a long time. You know that I only want the best for you."

She looked at me for a few seconds. But she didn't correct me. I never, ever called her by her last name. I either called her by her hero name, or her first name. Then she opened her mouth to say something. "Okay. Fine."

I nodded and sighed. "Good. Just keep knocking, and if they don't answer, then you can't do anything more than get a warrant." I knew that I wasn't talking to Mirko. And that fact only made me feel better.

After knocked for a few more minutes, the fake Mirko turned and walked away, telling me 'bye.'

I felt relieved once she left. Then I texted Shigaraki. I told him to speed up the meeting since they were onto him. I also told him everything that happened. I was thankful that I most likely passed the test. Especially because I was talking to Toga. That was the real test.
