a few days off

Cam:you know its rude to read those.Dabi:s...sorry. this was your first diary right?Cam:let me see? Yup, why?Dabi:...you and Touya both wrote in it.

He showed me a page that never saw. At the end of the diary it was a full page apologizing for him disappearing but that he hopes in the future we can meet again.

Dabi:...I need to tell you my name. But I swear, I didnt...I didnt plan this. Any of it. Ok?Cam:...o...KayDabi:im touya. My quirk back fired when I tried to use more than I was ready for... in turn it caused major burns all over my body. I was in the burn unit for a long time and at some point they...my dad said to give up and I was declared dead but I wasn't. I woke up just before and I left. Then you know the rest.

I sat there and stared at him blankly. What was I supposed to say at this point? Every thought I had just came back with "wait but he's alive" why didn't his dad check if it was his body. How did he get out of there alone? He was a kid....but he's back. And...did he know it was me or was all of this an accident. I looked back at him questions filled my eyes and he sighed and took me to the kitchen.

Dabi:what do you wanna eat?Cam:....dumplings.

he started making the dumplings i had set up to cook from the other day, i watched him start to boil them with the sauce and some water. I looked back out the window then heard my phone going off, it was Alex. he left a voicemail telling me too late that lily was headed over. i sent a text telling him to be faster and better about telling me these things. he apologized and said candice had him preoccupied. good for him, but my brain was still mush. 

Dabi:so what now?

Cam:well like you said, that was your past. Touya...he died. 

Dabi:really? youre ok with this?

Cam:is this what you want. no more of him. that life, you want that gone and erased? 

Dabi:....that depends. 

Cam:on what?

he grabbed my cheeks softly and kissed me hard. i felt his tongue lick my bottom lip but i didnt want to go any further than this. not yet. i pushed him lightly but grabbed his shirt to keep him next to me. He looked me up and down and bit his lip and swallowed loudly. I looked back at him thinking about his scars. 

Cam:you have a choice, dabi. If you choose to stay with me, which i wouldn't be opposed to, You cant...be the way you were. Idia is marrying my assignment. hell become someone i have to protect. 

Dabi:...we have 3 years to figure this out yeah?

Cam:yeah. 

Dabi:lets figure it out with time then. after a year we can make a choice. 

*time skip half way through the year*

its 2am, i heard the tv going off. I walked out to see dabi in his boxers and some pizza, i smiled at him and sat in his lap to watch and eat with him. 

Dabi:couldnt sleep either?

Cam:nah, my bed got too...big. 

Dabi:i can fix that. 

Cam:oh but i think this is alot better. 

i smiled at him and he started to kiss my neck making me moan lightly. which just made him go harder. for the rest of the night he teased me and we messed around until my phone finally went off at 5am, for the first time in 6 months my phone rang. 

Dabi:i thought...

Cam:somethings wrong.

I answered the phone, it was idia. someone attacked him and lilly got hurt instead. i told dabi to pack his bags and that we were going to france. once we were packed up i stopped at the door and looked at dabi concerned. i was enjoying this..but he has to make a choice i didnt want him to make for a while. 

Cam:dabi...will you marry me?

Dabi:wh...what?Cam: you have to tell me now. yes or no?

Dabi:i need to know why

Cam:i love you. i really do...and if anything or anyone hurts you i need to be able to protect you first. but i cant unless we are married. 

He looked at me confused then nodded understanding that this job really is my life, he took a deep breathe and went inside. I could feel tears filling my eyes and my heart shattering. I nodded at the air and started down the stairs where a car was waiting to take me to the airport. As i started to enter the car dabi screamed my name. 

Dabi:fuck cam wait! 

Cam:its ok, ill be in france for 3 weeks. ill make the arrangements you can keep the apartment. don't worry you won't lose your home. 

Dabi:wait!

Cam:dabi i have to go now. im sorry i wasted your time. 

Dabi:cam for fucks sake shut up and look at me!

he was at the door holding a ring box. the driver was smiling at me and so was the door man, they were waiting for me to see it which explains why they wouldn't just go. I asked the door man to grab his bags and the driver to take us to get our marriage license quickly. within the next hour we got married and paid extra to get our paperwork, we left for france. I apologized i wouldnt be as sweet as i was before and that our honeymoon would have to wait. he said it was ok and just watched me with a goofy smile on his face,  it wasnt hard to stay serious as i was trained to be this way but damn is he cute with that stupid smile. When we got to the hospital i told him to wait with the family and not to talk, i walked into the room to see idia and his top hero friends with him. "hello im cam, what happened and please make it quick. also yes i know all of you no need for your introductions." i nodded generally at the group and idia smiled at me explaining it was some villain and that his friends and the french heros can handle it. 

Bakugo:who do you think you are anyway?!

Cam:the person whos gonna go to jail kicking a stuck up heros ass.

Idia:whoa whoa cool it. listen itll be ok i just didnt want to leave her here like this when she could get hurt again. 

Cam:...are you thick? you have to stay here. you dont have a choice. you stay and protect your fuckin wife idia. 

Lily:theres the fire. hi cam. 

Cam:and you why are you so stupid where was your temp?!

Lily:you know i realized its so easy to out run someone who cant teleport to you. 

Cam:...you ruined my wedding. you know that?

Lily:you got married?!
