Who

Its really late. I'm supposed to be back at the apartment before 2am but I don't think I'm gonna make it. My friend said he wanted me to meet her new boyfriend but I'm kinda tired of meeting a new guy every week. I get that she's just having fun and all but I hate meeting them. My phone started to vibrate. I knew it was her.

Cam:hello?Lily:hey! Where are you? My boyfriend fell asleep on your couch.Cam:im around the corner.

I wasn't. But I have a teleportation quirk so as long as I can envision the place I want to be i can go there. Soon enough I was in front of my complex and could see her on my balcony.

Lilly: hey!

Shes my best friend but honestly I am tired of her a little. No offense to her I just hate interacting with people. It's alot of spoons that I don't have.

Cam:hey lil. So what's his name?Lily:oh...umCam:...lilly?Lily: yeah ok he's not my boyfriend he's a guy I met at the bar..Cam:why bring him here?Lilly:I thought he'd be more fun and you know I can't bring him to my place!Cam:...let the guy sleep. I'll wake him in the morning. Leave.Lilly:...are...are you mad?Cam:no...I'm just tired. I have no spoons. Ill see you in...2 weeks?Lilly:wow thats a while...ok I hope you get enough spoons.

She left. I grabbed a blanket and some extra clothes along with a towel and a emergency kit for the guy when he woke up. It had a toothbrush, advil, a small water bottle, and a snack. I went to my room and passed out. It was 8am when I woke up and I looked to the couch to see the man starting to wake up too. He had burns all over his face and it looked like it was on his arms too.

Dabi:huh? Where...where am I?Cam:hi. You went home with my friend last night and she brought you to my place.Dabi:huh...don't remember it....who are you?Cam:...nobody of consequence. I left stuff on the table, bathrooms to the left in the hall. Take as much time as you need.

He walked away and bowed thanking me. He seemed out of it, can't blame him. If you drink with lily you drink 10 years off your life. I heard the shower go on and started a light breakfast. I made eggs in a basket and coffee. I used to live in England until almost 12 years now. Her family employs mine and we pretty much just take care of them and everything they do. While yes she is my best friend and I am hers even if we hated each other id still be around. When I tell her that I won't see her for 2 weeks it really means she won't see me. I'll be in the back making sure she has a great day as she has mostly always had. I stop people from hurting her, annoying her, and I make sure most everything goes her way before she gets the chance to see it not. That's why I don't like being around her. Its harder to do anything when she's next to me.

Dabi:thank you again.Cam:anytime....want something to eat?Dabi:...couldn't hurt. So where am I?Cam:how drunk were you?

Lilly started calling me.

Lilly:where are you?Cam:home.Lilly:can....can I ask for something?Cam:whats up?Lilly:don't tell that guy anything about me...Cam:ok. Anything else?Lilly:yeah, thank you. For getting my coffee and breakfast delivered this morning.

She hung up. I smiled thinking about how she never thanks me for doing these things every day but today she did. Naturally I called her parents to let them know. It was strange and I was worried.

Dabi:so...what do you doCam:take care of the girl you were with.Dabi:so like a bodyguard?Cam:kinda.Dabi:is she famousCam:no. Her family and my family are just....entangled.Dabi:so do you like her?Cam:oh no. Uh she's not my typeDabi:really? From what I remember she was pretty attractiveCam:...yeah I'm just not into womenDabi:oh. Cool.

He smirked as I said that and started eating the meal I placed in front of him. It was nice to share a breakfast with someone. I haven't done it since my last boyfriend. We broke up a while ago and I haven't really dated since. It took too much work and no one understands why I can't text them during work, or why I have to always respond to Lilly or her family no matter what. Its easier this way.

Cam:how do you like your coffee?Dabi:ill come back for some. Is that ok?

Before I could answer he left. I was confused but checked Lilly schedule, she was staying home today for a self care day. I sent some flowers and started cooking some food for her lunch and dinner while ordering snacks to be delivered during her day. Then I saw on her meal schedule she has crossed off all the meals I wrote in for today. She was requesting take out. She does this every now and then but I still found it strange. Either way I ordered the food to be delivered and I called my cousin who lives next door to her to check on her every now and then. Soon enough a text came in, she thanked me again. I decided it was a good day to clean my home since I won't have to run around at all.

*time skip to 4pm*

Done. I found that guys clothes in my hamper so I washed them for him. I set them in a little box for if he returned and I started making dinner/lunch. I had my music pretty loud and didn't realize my door was unlocked so as soon as I was done belting the chorus to a song I turned to see the man at my counter smiling at me.

Dabi:I didn't catch your name.Cam:....I didn't catch when I let you in.Dabi:your door was open.Cam:....Cam.Dabi:just cam?Cam:ya. What's yours.Dabi:dabi. And I take my coffee with 1 sugar.Cam:...want dinner?Dabi:whatcha making?Cam:soba.Dabi:sounds great.

We sat and ate in comfortable silence. I didn't get any calls that night, after dinner we washed our plates and put on a movie. The entire 2 hrs it was playing we got to know each other. I realized he was really easy to talk to. It didn't feel like he needed my spoons to talk with me. We continued and soon we knew each other very well. He told me that he's a villain which granted at first I thought about calling the police but he gave me his story and I just didn't care anymore.

Dabi:I promise this much, I wouldn't let what I do interfere in...anything I do out of it.Cam:hey as long as you don't hurt Lilly or her family I don't care.Dabi:so how long has your family protected them for?Cam:...not sure. My great grandparents talked about how they used to take care of that family and how their family's did it too so its gotta be at least 100 years.Dabi:...I have a question.Cam:what is it?Dabi:are you scared?

His hand was inching to mine on the couch. I thought about it for a second. The feeling I had wasn't fear but more comfort. He may have killed people but so have I. Lilly wasn't my first person I was protecting. I used to protect her cousin who would do alot of bad stuff, the only way to get her out of any of it was to kill people who wanted her dead. Soon enough she ended up going back home and getting dealt with there so I was sent to Lilly. I was only 15 when I was with her cousin and all that happened. That's insane to me.

Dabi:hey cam?Cam:no im not afraid im comfortable around you. Its just weird to think about it.Dabi:..really?Cam:well yeah. I've known you 1 day. And it feels like I don't need spoons to have you around me.Lilly: cam! Hey we need to...what?
