Janet

"Momma, where are you going?" Eissa asked me as I tucked him into bed.

"Out. I'll be back before you wake up in the morning." I assured him. "Nanny Tif is downstairs if you need something."

He nodded. "Ok. Night momma."

"Goodnight my Prince." I kissed his cheek as I headed out of his room.

Walking down the steps, I saw that Tiffany was waiting at the bottom of the steps. She smiled at me. "Going out with whom may I ask?"

"I'm grown Tiff."

"Noted, but I asked a question Jan."

Tiffany and I were as close as Shawn and I. She's been around to help with Eissa, and since then we've bonded.

"A friend."

"Does this friend happen to be the teacher of Eissa?"

My eyes narrowed. "How in the hell?"

"Momma Kat told me everything. Including the fact that you're gay now."

"What the hell? Why is she telling the world? Nothing's official yet."

Tiffany was a happy go lucky person, so when she squealed, I wasn't phased. "Yet? Yet?! I have to meet this woman! You're glowing. I haven't seen this glow in a while."

I smiled softly. Was I really glowing? "I guess."

"Okay, I don't want to hold you up. Go out. Have fun. Spend the night if you have to, you know I got my baby."

Nodding, I grabbed my keys. "Call me if you need anything and Eissa cannot have anything sweet. Seriously, no candy."

"I got it. I got it. I know how to watch my child Janet." She told me in all seriousness.

Tiff has been around so long, Eissa is dang near her child as well now, so it didn't bother me when she said things like that.

Chuckling, I opened my door. "My bad Tiff. I'll see you in a few alright?"

"Didn't I just tell you to spend the night?" She asked me.

I didn't answer, but shot a annoyed look her way as I walked out my front door.

When I stepped outside, I didn't see Joey or his truck. Rolling my eyes slightly, I mumbled to myself. "I know I told this man 7:30."

Before I could pull out my phone, footsteps approached me and I looked up.

Wissam stood in front of me and my whole mood deflated. "Janet, let me speak with you for a moment."

"I have somewhere to be Wissam." I replied in a irritated tone.

"It's about our son."

"Wissam..." I trailed as I pulled my phone out and told Joey to hurry up. "What is there to talk about? Our court date is coming up in a few weeks."

He sighed. "I don't want to do that anymore Janet."

I noticed that he took a step towards me, so in return I took a step back. "What made you change your mind?"

"We can work on us. Eissa told me that he wanted us back together. Janet we were better together than apart. You know that. We can fix us."

My mind couldn't believe the words that I was hearing. Was he serious?

"Wissam, I'm not about to do this with you. Those days are long and over and I need you to realize that. Sure, Eissa's opinion matters, but you should have told our son that it isn't going to happen."

Being married to a man like him, made me learn to focus on the small things, so I noticed when his jaw clenched roughly.

Where in the hell was Joey?

He reached out to touch me and I stepped back again. "Janet, you don't mean that."

"Yes I do." I disagreed with what he was saying.

"No." He gripped my wrist roughly. "You don't."

I tried to yank my arm from him but his grip only tightened. "Wissam stop. You're hurting me."

"When are you going to learn that you must obey your husband Janet?" His voice was cold and it sent flashbacks through my head for a moment.

"I am not your wife anymore, Wissam. Now back up!" I spit back at him as I jammed my foot on top of his and kneed him in his pelvis area harshly.

In pain, he jerked back quickly. He crouched for a few moments and took a few deep breathes. I took that as my moment to walk around him but he grabbed my arm before coming back towards me.

God was watching over me because a Escalade whipped into my drive way.

Joey came running over and yanked Wissam away from me. "Dude, didn't I tell your ass I didn't want to catch you around these parts no more?"

Wissam struggled to get free from Joey's hold. "Let me go."

"Janet, go get in the car." Joey instructed me and I didn't have to hear it twice. I walked around them and went and got in the truck.

Analyzing my wrist, I saw I was bruising. I shook my head slightly as tears rushed to the brims of my eyes. I blinked them away, and wiped the one that fell.

I could hear Joey and Wissam going back and forth but I didn't want to pay attention to it at the moment. Or maybe I just couldn't.

My eyes stayed on my wrist, even when Joey got into the truck. He looked back at me and sighed. "J... there was a train on the track. I'm sorry. I didn't know."

"It's fine." I replied softly.

"It's really not." His voice thickened with anger. "That man is going to make me snap his neck one day. I told him clearly that the next time he stepped foot on your property other than having to do with Eissa, I would have him 6 feet below."

I kept my head down for I didn't feel like joining in any longer.

Joey realized I wasn't going to reply and asked. "You still wanna go to Kyrin's?"

Simply nodding, I laid my head on the window in misery. The only thing I wanted right now was to see Kyrin. She would make this feeling go away or at least try her best.

It was a long drive to Kyrin's home, and I realized that we were heading to the outskirts of town. When we did make it, my eyes widened in awe at the sight of her home. It was built like a townhome. Two stories in height but still wide in length. The home was gorgeous.

Joey put the car in park. "When do you want me to come back and get you?"

"I'll ask Kyrin to drop me back. It's ok." I mumbled softly. I still wasn't in the headspace at the moment.

"Ok." He replied as he went to get out.

Before he could, I opened my own door and muttered. "I got it."

"J..." Joey trailed off. "You sure you ok?"

I nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for bringing me."

"Janet, I'm your bodyguard and driver. Why wouldn't I bring you?"

Shrugging, I closed the door behind me as I walked up to the door and rung the doorbell.

"Coming!" Her voice rang through my ears and a few moments later the door opened. She smiled at me but began frowning when she looked at my hands. "You come late and with no humus? I can't deal."

"Sorry. I forgot it."

Kyrin pulled me in the house and waved at Joey. "I know it's not huge, but I'd say I have some taste in decorating."

I mumbled softly. "Oh please. It's gorgeous."

She faced me. "Ok, what's wrong? You are way too soft right now."

"Wissam caught me before Joey pulled up and we had a.... altercation."

"Altercation?" She questioned for me to specify. I held out my arm and she looked at my wrist. "What the— J, what happened? Do you want me to wrap it?"

I shook my head as tears shot to the brims of my eyes for the second time today. "I would just really really like a hug right now."

Kyrin wrapped me in her arms as she began rubbing my back. She spoke softly to me and for some reason it calmed me. "I'm sorry that he did that J, he's just a sucky person and doesn't realize that you deserve the world. So if you need to cry, then cry. Let it out, I'm here."

When the words left her lips, I desperately wished that she hadn't have said that because the waterworks began. Every emotion that I was trying to hold in came rushing out and still Kyrin held me.

Wissam was just a asshole, and most days I wished that I hadn't met him. The only good thing he gave me was my baby boy, and that's literally all.

All the stuff I took from that man, I would never do it again. Not in that fashion. Not with that same type of person.

After a while, I got myself together. Lifting my head, Kyrin was quick to wipe the tears left on my face.

I connected our lips, the kiss tasting of salt from my tears.

She pulled away and asked. "Are you ok? Tell me how you're feeling Janet. What's in that beautiful mind of yours?"

"I'm just sick of being sad all the time. It's this endless feeling of emptiness and I can't take it any longer. I just need to get my mind off of it."

Kyrin took a moment before replying. "How about we watch a movie? It'll pass time since you didn't bring my humus."

I chuckled at that. "Do you want me to just make you some?"

"Uh, I'm pretty sure that I don't have the ingredients and plus I'm just picking with you. How about the movie though?"

"Sure. What we watching?"

"You can choose." Kyrin told me as she walked up the steps and I began to follow.

"The Ring?"

Kyrin stopped walking and turned to me. "Oh so you a scary movie watcher?"

I shrugged. "Sometimes. Not really."

"See, we can watch it, but don't complain if I jump into your lap every other minute." Usually, I would have made a crude comment, but I wasn't in the mood. She noticed and sighed. "Come on Superstar, you'd usually have something to say to that."

We made it to the second floor and I was still silent.

She turned to me and grabbed my hands. "I wanna make you feel better. You gotta smile for me before you leave this house. It's a must. I'll let it slide now, but you aren't leaving until I see a real smile Superstar."

Nodding, she turned back around and with our hands entangled, led me to her room. She climbed on the bed and after I took of my shoes, I followed.

I immediately cuddled into her, laying my head on her chest and she grabbed the remote and turned her tv on. She placed her other hand around me as she began rubbing my body.

"Stop before I go to sleep." I mumbled lowly.

Chuckling, she stopped doing it as she went to the apps on her television and looked for The Ring. Coming up empty, she spoke. "They don't have it on anything."

"Rent it." I suggested.

"Whew, I'm really not trying to watch this movie and you are really adamant about doing so right now."

I giggled. "Ok, we can watch something else then."

"Was that a laugh?" She asked shocked. "I'm getting somewhere now. Ok, yeah we can watch something else like Spongebob."

"Sponge-who?"

"Woman, you don't know what Spongebob is?"

Looking up at her, I asked. "Should I know what Spongebob is?"

She cradled my head. "Oh my poor Superstar. Come on, we gotta watch it now. The fame then kept you from the best show out here."

I rolled my eyes playfully as she let my head go and I laid back on her chest. She found the show and I was surprised that it was an animation. "Oh it's a animation?"

"A what?" Kyrin asked me funnily.

"A animation."

"Yeah J. It's a cartoon. Say cartoon when it comes to Spongebob. It gets special circumstances."

My face scrunched up slightly as I asked. "Why?"

"I can't explain it. Just watch. I'll start you on season 8." She hit the first episode and a loud introduction came blasting out of the television.

It seemed kiddish to me at first, but I soon realized that it was a kids show.

Halfway through the episode, I spoke. "So it's a kids show?"

"No. It is a everyone show. I'll be 80 watching Spongebob. Don't sleep on it now."

I shook my head as I turned my head and analyzed the beauty that I was laying on top of. Her hair was in a bun, and she seemed oddly comfortable with me laying on her. Yet, I was oddly comfortable laying on her as well so I didn't complain.

Maybe she felt my gaze, because she looked down at me and asked. "What?"

Innocently, I replied. "Oh nothing."

She connected our lips briefly before I sat up and straddled her lap. I pulled our lips together the second time and Kyrin realized where this was going.

"Now whose starting something?" She teased. "Then while Spongebob is playing. Ou girl you nasty."

Smiling at her, I dismissed her question. "Whatever Kyrin."

She was quick to smile back. "Ahh. There's my smile. Now where were we?"

I crashed our lips together and this time, I refused to let up until I absolutely had to do so. Her hands slipped under my shirt as she pulled back to lift it over my head.

Doing the same to her, we began our make out again. It was sloppy this time, our tongues dancing in an organized tango. I began sucking on her tongue and her hands unclipped my bra as it fell down my shoulders.

Slowly, she pulled the bra straps down my arms and began kissing on my chest after she threw the bra elsewhere.

"Wait." She spoke suddenly as she lifted up.

"Hm?" I asked as I began kissing down her neck. Kyrin flipped our positions, causing me to giggle.

Her hands rubbed up and down my body as she answered me. "It's my turn and I'm going to make sure that you don't forget this."
