The door to my classroom opened and I looked up from the test I was grading.
"Butterfly!" Eissa yelled as he ran inside.
I smiled at him as he came behind my desk and we hugged. "Hey Bubba. What are you doing here?"
He pointed to the door. "Mommy be nice today."
"Well thank God it's about time." I mumbled to myself as Janet walked in my class with food in her hand.
She held up the food. "I brought lunch."
Chuckling, I smiled at her as my sarcasm dropped. "Really? Couldn't tell."
Janet rolled her eyes playfully. "Whatever Kyrin."
"How'd you know when I take lunch?" I asked as Bubba ran elsewhere in my classroom.
Pulling up a chair, she sat across from me. "Lucky guess really. 12 pm is the normal world lunch time."
"Well thanks, I appreciate it." I spoke honestly. "What is it though?"
"Grilled veggie and humus wraps."
"Never had humus."
Her eyes widened. "You're lying! You gotta try it."
I shook my head slightly. "Uh, I don't know about that one. What if I'm allergic and I die?"
"If you're allergic, then I'll take you to the hospital." She told me humorously. Pulling out the wraps, she sat one in front of me. "Just try it."
"You made it?" She nodded, not realizing that made me more skeptical. "Okay, we never had a conversation about what happened after ya know... so you saying that you made this makes me think that you're trying to kill me Janet. Just tell me if you are."
Her eyes narrowed. "You think I'd poison you?"
"Like two weeks ago, we butted heads so bad that I called you a asshole. So honestly do you think I'd not think that you would poison me?"
"Kyrin, eat the damn wrap. Nothings in it except the needed ingredients. See, I try to be nice and you make me be mean."
Chuckling, I picked the wrap up as I shrugged. "When you're mean, I know that you're serious. So now I know nothings in the wrap. Thanks for the lunch."
"Great. Eat up." She encouraged me.
Shooting her a look, I bit into the wrap and my taste buds exploded. After I swallowed the first bite, I looked at her with wide eyes. "Oh shit. You can really cook."
"Why wouldn't I be able to cook again?"
"I don't know Superstar. Guess I just assumed." I chuckled as I took another bite.
"Superstar?"
"Your new nickname of course."
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever."
Eissa ran over to us and asked me. "Can I go to Ms.Carmen room? Please?"
"Who is that?" Janet asked me.
"My best-friend and his second favorite teacher." I emphasized the word as I shot a look at Eissa.
He shook his head. "Nu uh. She's my first favorite teacher. You're my first favorite Butterfly."
Smiling at him, I replied. "Oh okay, I was about to say... but ask your mother if you can go Bubba. Not me."
"Momma, can I go? Pretty please?" He asked as he poked out his bottom lip and made it quiver.
Janet looked at me. "Is it safe for him to go? I don't want the kids messing with him."
"I'll be fine." Eissa assured his mother. "Uncle Joey told me if they mess with me then I need to whoop their asses."
My eyes widened and Janet screamed out. "Eissa Al Mana! Bad word!"
Eissa frowned. "Uncle Joey says it though."
"That doesn't mean you say it Bubba." I scolded lightly. "You know better than to repeat what Joey says."
"Sorry." He apologized lowly.
"Don't be sorry Bubba, just don't say it again." I cautioned.
Janet sighed. "Go play with the toys E."
"I wanna go to Ms.Carmen!" He raised his tone slightly.
"Little boy, what did I just—."
I cut Janet off. "Go ahead Eissa. You remember the way?"
He nodded. "Mhm."
"Okay, be back before the kids get back from lunch alright?"
"Ok." Eissa shot out of the room running.
Janet seemed vexed with what I had done. "Oh I know you are not upset right now."
She looked at me. "You clearly just undermined my parenting, Kyrin. I told him no and you just went around every thing I said."
I got up and walked to my door, stepping outside of it, I used the keys on my lantern to lock the outside and walked back inside my classroom. The door closed behind me and I walked back over to where Janet was.
Climbing on her lap, I pouted. "Stop being mad. I didn't mean to do it on purpose. You gotta loosen up."
Janet rolled her eyes at my response. "Okay Kyrin."
Wrapping my arms around her neck, I spoke. "I just wanted some time with just you and I. You can't be mad at that, can you?"
"Kyrin, that's besides the damn point and you know it."
"You gone quit calling me by my government name, Superstar." She only smacked her lips to that. "You have to calm down sometimes. He's a kid J, he won't stop growing ya know."
When she ignored me again I kissed her and soon enough, her arms wrapped around my waist. She gripped my ass and I began grinding on her lap as I sucked and kissed on her neck.
"Babygirl... Don't start nothing in this classroom." She mumbled to me.
I smirked slightly when I heard the pet name she had granted me.
"You didn't see me lock the door?" I asked. "Starting something in this classroom has been the point since you walked in here."
"Mm. Is that so?" Janet asked as I began kissing on her neck. "Get on the desk."
I shook my head. "Nu uh. It's your turn this time."
Slowly, I got up from her lap and she followed in my suit. I connected our lips again, for it had been 2 weeks since the first time we were intimate and I had yearned for this feeling again.
She cupped my ass through my pants suit as we made out. Pulling away, I moved her hair to the side as I began laying kisses on her neck again. Her skin tasted of honey and sugar, and it was a taste I couldn't get enough of.
Her arms wrapped around my neck as she sat back on my desk. My fingers went to work on unbuttoning her blouse and before I got to the last button, a knock erupted from the door.
"Butterfly! Momma!" Eissa's voice yelled from the other side.
We quickly pulled apart as she buttoned her blouse as quick as she could. I went and opened the door. "What's up little guy?"
He chuckled at me. "I'm not little. I big."
"Sorry big guy." I corrected myself. "What's up?"
"Lunch is almost over Butterfly. Where's momma? She leave?"
I shook my head as I shot a glance back at Janet who was buttoning the last button on her shirt. "No, she's in here."
Opening the door fully, Bubba walked past me and into my classroom.
Janet spoke to me when I walked back over to my desk. "Guess it's time I go, huh?"
"Unless you want to talk to the third graders, then yeah I'd believe so." I mumbled and couldn't help the sadness that rode along my tone.
"What are you doing tonight?"
I rolled my eyes at the thought. "Probably lesson plans."
She chuckled. "How about I let Eissa's nanny keep him tonight and I come by your place? Maybe around 8?"
My insides jumped for joy, but I tried to play it cool. "If you want to. That's fine."
"No, it's if you want me to."
"I'd love for you to come over, Janet."
Seeing her smile at me, caused me to bite my lip slightly. "Then I'll be there. Eissa come on, Butterfly has a class to teach."
She stood up and I did the same. Eissa frowned. "No. I don't wanna leave. Let me stay, Momma. Please."
"Not today Prince." J told him softly. "Maybe another day. Tell Butterfly bye."
Eissa ran over to me and hugged me. "Bye Butterfly."
"Bye Bubba. I'll see you in a few days ok?"
He nodded. "Ok."
They headed for the door, and I opened it for them. Eissa walked out in front of Janet and when he got a few feet ahead, she kissed me softly. "I'll see you tonight."
Nodding, I smiled. "It's a plan."
She smiled back at me as she walked into the hall. "I'll bring the humus."
"Oh please do!" I exclaimed seriously.
Chuckling at me, she turned and caught up with Eissa.
"Oh bitch. We fucking singers now?" A voice shot out from behind me.
Jumping, I turned and saw it was Carmen.
Walking into my classroom I replied. "I don't know what you're talking about."
She scoffed. "See, you aren't my friend anymore. You been holding out on me. I know for a fact you fucking that woman because you been skipping around this school for damn near two weeks."
I chuckled. "I have not been skipping."
"Well what do you call it?"
"Walking with a fast tempo." My clap back caused both of us to laugh.
Carmen sighed loudly. "Tell me though, y'all been fucking huh?"
"Aren't the kids about to be heading back to class?"
"No subject change. Y'all been fucking huh?"
"We have like three minutes before the bell. Let me pass out these math worksheets." I mumbled to myself as I picked up the papers from my desk and began passing them out.
"Kyrin Paige Broussard!" She exclaimed and I stopped.
"What Carmen?"
"Answer my question, bitch!"
I chuckled knowing I had pissed her off. "Fine, maybe. Just once though."
She squealed. "Ou, I knew it. I freaking knew it. How was it?"
"Well, it's not everyday that someone can say that they got tongued down and fingered by Janet Jackson."
Carmen chuckled. "Honestly, but that wasn't my question Kay. I asked how was it?"
"It was..." I trailed off as I tried to find the right word. "It was amazing. This is the only woman I've ever been remotely attracted to and if this doesn't work out then she'll surely be my last. It's just something about the way she moves. At first I thought she was just a bitch, but she isn't. She's really sweet, she's just protective over Eissa. Which is understandable."
"Damn, you then took up for this woman like that? Okay I see. So what, you dating her or something?"
I shook my head. "No. I don't think it's dating yet. I guess we're talking."
"Not doing much talking if you having sex with the woman. Consider you and her dating."
Rolling my eyes, I finished passing out the papers. "I don't know. She's coming over tonight though."
"Oh! You gay gay now?! So you about to have sex sex?"
"Don't start that double word shit." I muttered.
"About to have sex sex. Go to hell hell. Lucky bastard. Maybe I need to go gay too, shit."
I shook my head. "Now you know your ass couldn't make it."
"Don't sleep on me now, I can do anything I put my mind to." She smirked at me and I giggled.
"Whatever Carmen. Leave me be."
"Fine, since you acting like you don't wanna spill tea."
The bell rang, telling us that the kids were on their way from lunch now. "Ok, go tend to your children's."
"And you call yourself a teacher. Speaking like that." She shot me a look as she opened my classroom door and walked out.
Sitting my papers back on the desk, I went to my door and used my key to unlock it as children began filing into the classroom.
The faster this school day flew by.... the better.
