Part 22: Interruptions

The door to Alastor's bedroom slammed open, his usual composed demeanor replaced by uncharacteristic urgency as he carried Angel Dust in his arms. Angel, though visibly amused, draped an arm lazily around Alastor's shoulders. (if yk yk lol.)

"Wow, you really couldn't wait, huh?" Angel teased, his voice laced with laughter. "Didn't peg you for the impatient type..."

Alastor's grin was sharp, his glowing red eyes glinting with a dangerous sort of charm. "Patience, my dear Angel, is a virtue I've never claimed to have... especially not tonight."

With a dramatic flourish, Alastor kicked the door shut behind him, striding toward the bed—only to freeze in his tracks.

There, in the center of the bed, was Audrey. She was surrounded by an assortment of crayons and sheets of paper, deeply engrossed in her artwork. Her little tongue poked out in concentration as she added a particularly bold streak of red to her latest masterpiece.

"Daddy! Look what I made!" she exclaimed, holding up a crayon drawing of what appeared to be Alastor, Angel Dust, and herself—all with exaggerated smiles and stick-figure bodies.

Angel stifled a laugh, biting his lip as he glanced between Alastor and the unexpected scene. "Well, this is awkward."

Alastor's grin faltered for the briefest moment before snapping back into place. He carefully set Angel down on his feet, straightened his bowtie, and turned his attention to Audrey.

"Ah, my darling Audrey," he said, his voice as smooth as ever. "What an... unexpected surprise. Shouldn't you be in your room, my dear?"

Audrey shook her head, beaming up at him. "I wanted to color here! Your bed is super comfy, Daddy."

Angel snorted, leaning casually against the bedpost. "Guess someone's the ultimate mood killer, huh?"

Alastor shot him a warning glance before crouching down to Audrey's level. "While I appreciate your enthusiasm, little one, Daddy and... Uncle Angel were just about to have a very important adult conversation."

Audrey tilted her head, confused but unbothered. "Can I stay? I'll be quiet!"

Angel doubled over laughing, earning another sharp glare from Alastor. "Yeah, Al. Let her stay! She's a great chaperone."

With a dramatic sigh, Alastor plucked Audrey off the bed, crayons and all. "Come, my darling," he said, carrying her toward the door. "Let's find you a new place to create your masterpieces."

As he gently shut the door behind her, Angel flopped onto the bed, still chuckling. "Gotta admit, Al, didn't think I'd get cock-blocked by your kid. New experience for me."

Alastor's grin returned, sharp and mischievous as he stalked toward the bed. "Well, my dear Angel, allow me to make up for the inconvenience."

Angel smirked, propping himself up on his elbows. "You'd better."
