The Calvary

Wednesday's POV

As much as I dislike asking for help, I reluctantly asked Enid to call her friends to help. The two sirens and that vampire. I suppose her friends can be and have been helpful in the past. In Enid's words, the three of them are also my "friends". If anything they're just good allies to have in times of need. I barely tolerate any of them as it is but I only tolerate them for Enid's sake.

That brings me to the current situation in the dorm room. I have Enid standing by me in front of the white board that I borrowed from the library. I have taken it upon myself to draw a sketch of the Nightshades library to visualize my plan so I can talk it over with the rest of the group. Divina, Bianca and Yoko are all sitting on Enid's bed waiting for me to start explaining everything. After last night, seeing Xavier coming out of that shed with a monster in there, we have to stop him. Or else we'll have a repeat of last year.

I look at my board one last time, ensuring I didn't miss anything, then I turn to face the three girls sitting on the bed.

"First thing, does everyone remember that werewolf we saw on my birthday?" I ask

"The one that wants to kill you? Yes" Yoko says

"I still have nightmares about it." Bianca says

"Same" Divina says in agreement with Bianca

I take a moment to gather my thoughts before speaking again. I hope they can use their collective four braincells to comprehend what I'm about to explain. And four is being generous.

"Enid and I went on a walk last night. We were following Xavier actually. I had a feeling he was behind this ordeal. He leads us to a shed, similar to his art studio but more wore down. At first, we didn't think too much of it. Enid spotted a dummy that happened to look like me.-" I begin to explain

Yoko laughs at the dummy part of my explanation and her obnoxious laughter cut me off and pulled my attention away.

"You're telling ME there's a dumb version of YOU?" Yoko asks as she's having a hard time catching her breath from laughing so hard

I keep my expression blank and I slightly furrow my eyebrows at the vampire.

"It's a dummy you idiot." Bianca says while elbowing Yoko in the arm

"Ow" Yoko says rubbing her arm.

I cross my arms and I took a step closer to Enid for the comfort.

"As I was saying before Dracula over here interrupted me. Xavier leaves his shed so Enid and I make our way inside. Under a latch in the shed, I find the werewolf that he has. We return to our dorm immediately and when we returned I found a note from him to meet him in the Nightshades library tonight. That's why you imbeciles are here. I have a plan in place just in case he tries anything." I explain

I let the three of them have a minute to comprehend what I just explained and give them a chance to ask any follow up questions. Once I deemed enough time has passed, I start to explain the plan.

"I will head into the Nightshades library first and alone. Yoko, before I go down there I want you in your bat form already down there in a dark corner so you can easily escape to gather the others. Divina and Bianca, you two will be standing outside by the statue. Enid comes into play if I'm not back up within ten minutes. She'll enter the Nightshades library under the pretense that my mother called and she needs to speak to me immediately. Does everyone understand their roll in this?" I explain

"Uh yeah why on earth do I have to be the one to witness this monstrosity?" Yoko asks

I sigh.

"You're the only one that can get into a form so small that you can hide easier. Enid can't hide when she's a 10 feet tall werewolf" I say

"And if Xavier tries anything, you can bite him. I know when a vampire is in bat form, their saliva can cause a human to pass out for a few minutes." I add

"That means I'll also hold the title of saving the Wednesday Addams." Yoko says smugly

"I got that title first." Enid says sticking her tongue out

"I don't need saving. I am more than capable of protecting myself." I say

Enid turns to look at me and she raises her eyebrow at me.

"I have actually saved you a few times." Enid says confidently

I meet her gaze. She's not wrong. Enid has saved my life on a few different occasions.

"And we have always assisted" Bianca says

"Everyone meet here at 9:30." I say dismissing what Bianca said.

"Don't let my precious vampire get hurt" Divina says as she stands up extending her hand to Yoko

"Gross." I say as I turn to face the whiteboard once more.

"Says the one who can be heard screaming Enid's name" Yoko says with a laugh

"Out Yoko." Enid says, stifling her own laugh.

"She has a point though" Bianca says as she follows the other two girls out of the dorm.

I wait until I hear the door close before I decide to speak to Enid. There's another piece of important business to attend to.

I turn to see Enid walking over to her desk and I follow behind her. Enid sits down and she looks up at me.

"Enid. I would like to say something to you. Don't be alarmed with what I'm about to say." I tell her softly

She looks at me with her bright blue eyes that seem to make everything around us disappear. My usual cold demeanor seems to lighten a bit when I'm around her.

"Go on." Enid says grabbing my hand.

"I want to show my gratitude for everything you've done for me the last year. Can I take you out on a date?" I ask

Enid smiles, her K9s showing.

"Yes, a million times YES!" Enid squeals

And there goes my hearing. Although, I don't entirely mind when it's Enid showing her excitement.

"I will plan the details out with Thing." I say

Enid jumps up from her chair and wraps me in her arms. Without a second thought, I gladly return the gesture.

"I know we've been together for a bit now but you actually asking me on a date is totes cute of you" Enid says happily as she lets go from the hug.

I look up at her with a disgusted face.

"I'm not cute Sinclair" I say crossing my arms

Enid smirks.

"You're pouting" She says

"Am not." I say not breaking eye contact

Enid takes a step closer and I can practically feel her breath on me while she's standing so close to me.

"Seems like you are Addams." Enid says

I let out the breath I wasn't aware that I was holding.

"Find another term." I say

Enid looks me up and down before leaning down to my ear.

"You are my beautiful nightmare of a woman Addams" Enid whispers into my ear before giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I feel my face hear up like my skin is on fire. Enid stand straight up again and I avoid eye contact with the girl in front of me. I know if I look at her, I will lose all sense of logical thinking.

Enid places her hand under my jaw to force me to look up at her. Her eyes dart from my eyes to my lips and back up. I grab her by the hips and pull her into a kiss because I cannot bare the tension right now.

I feel her soft warm lips against mine. Everything seems to be so distant when I'm kissing her. The things that Enid unfortunately makes me feel is against everything I have ever believed in.

We pull away from each other and rest our foreheads together.

"I love you so much Wens." Enid says with a smile.

I fidget with the hem of Enid's shirt.

"The feeling is incredibly mutual Sinclair" I say

Maybe one day I'll be able to put into words how much she truly means to me and what she has done to my life. Right now would be the time to do so but for now, I'm at a loss of words to say when it comes to the bubbly girl in front of me.

For now, I will enjoy the rest of the afternoon either way the werewolf before I'm forced to meet up with Xavier later. I typically enjoy torture but being in his presence is just too much torture. I was unaware that was even possible but I guess the human race will never fail to amaze me.

I pass the time by working on my novel and Enid is on her phone. This will be the only time I'll really have today to write. So that's what I do. Occasionally I stop to check in with Enid, something I don't typically do but I know she's anxious about tonight. I look over at the clock on my desk and it reads 9pm. Divina and Bianca should be here soon.

I get up from my desk and walk over to Enid who is sitting down on my bed. Why is she lying on my bed?  I don't know but I'm not going to complain about it. I take a seat next to her.

"Enid." I say softly

She sets her phone down and looks at me.

"What's up?" She questions

I meet her gaze and look at her softly.

"I know you're scared but I assure you I will be fine. No need to worry." I say

"You're my girlfriend, I'm always going to worry about your wellbeing." Enid says

"I know. And I am the same with you." I say

Enid leans over to cup my face and pulls me into a kiss. I rest my hands on her shoulders to pull her even closer. She breaks away from the kiss and pulls me down onto the bed to hold me close. Enid is the only person who is allowed to hold me in such a way.

She wraps her arms around my body and I rest my head on her chest, I can hear her heartbeat. A sound that can calm me down. There's truly not a better spot in the world. Being in Enid's embrace is the best place to be. If I could, I would opt to be here for the rest of my life.

A knock comes from the door and ruins the peace that Enid and I were sharing. I let out an annoyed sigh but I get up regardless to let the two friends in.

I open the door to be met with Divina and Bianca laughing at something.

"Oh hey Wednesday" Divina says

I look at the two of them and I open the door more to invite them in. They walk in and sit on Enid's bed. I close the door behind them and Enid had already made her way across the dorm to stand by her friends.

I approach the three of them.

"Is Yoko in position down there?" I ask

"Yoko is ready for whatever is gonna happen tonight" Divina says

"You know, Yoko in her bat form is actually adorable. Like she's tiny and cute and quiet so she can't talk back" Bianca says

"Omg I know right!" Enid says

I look at the three of them blankly. Are they seriously discussing the "cuteness" of a bat? Bats are definitely interesting animals but this one is just Yoko. It's not that deep.

"Come on Wednesday, it's the same thing you think when you see Enid in her wolf form." Bianca states

"You think I'm cute in my wolf form?" Enid questions

I sigh.

"Cute? No. I think of you more as a deadly and nightmare fueled animal that could rip someone apart in a five second span. That's what I find intriguing. There's nothing more intriguing than that." I say

"In normal person words, she finds me hot." Enid says to her two friends.

Not. The. Point. Enid.

Divina and Bianca laugh.

"Time to go." I say

The two sirens stand up and Enid takes my hand. I guide us out of the dorm and down to the statue. I do the double snap and the statue moves. I look at Enid one last time.

"I'll be out soon." I say to the werewolf

Enid kisses my cheek. I turn to face the stairs and I start walking down. The one good thing about the Nightshades library is that it's dimly lit so Yoko should easily be able to hide from Xavier's view.

I reach the bottom of the stairs and I see Xavier pacing around.

"Oh you actually made it." He says nervously

I take a few steps away from the stairs to approach him but I leave more than enough space between the two of us.

"What do you want?" I ask

Xavier looks at and I can tell he doesn't have his typical confident demeanor. He's actually nervous and scared about something. He doesn't say anything though.

"I don't have all night. Enid will be looking for me if I'm not back in the dorm once she returns" I say flatly

"I don't know how to say this, but it is about Enid." Xavier says

This makes me raise my eyebrow and cross my arms.

"What about her?" I ask

"I know you have no right to believe me, but I saw her with someone else. A guy. He's a friend of mine." Xavier says

Is that the best he can do? Try to frame Enid for cheating? Nonetheless, I play into this ridiculous idea of his. I need to know what he's planning on.

"Do you have proof of this incident?" I ask

Xavier nods. He pulls out his phone and shows me a picture. I'll give him credit, his picture manipulation is adequate. It's better than his artwork.

I push the phone away from me, acting like it's making me mad.

"You should probably talk to her about that." Xavier says

He really is pathetic. Here he is, trying to break Enid and I up with a fake picture. Is he unaware that Enid doesn't leave my side unless she's going over to Yoko's? I just need to know his plan if Enid and I were to breakup. Would he still try to kill me? Or would he release the poor student he conned into being his personal killing pet? I guess there's only one way to find out.

"Okay." I say.

Xavier takes a step closer to me.

"Do you need anything? I'm here for you Wednesday." He says

I look at him for a moment before shaking my head.

"No. I'm not someone that breaks over another person." I say

That's a lie. I would be incredibly hurt if Enid broke my heart because I trust her with such a thing. I don't trust anyone the way I trust her.

"Well you know where to find me if you do." He says

I nod.

"I should go now." I say as I turn to the staircase

"See you around I guess." Xavier says

Unfortunately, yes you will.

I go up the stairs and I exit the library. Enid, Bianca and Divina are waiting for me. I motion to the three of them to follow me. We walk to the dorm and I have them sit on Enid's bed.

"We need to wait for Yoko." I say

After a few minutes, the vampire walks through the door. She takes a seat next to her girlfriend.

"So what happened?" Enid asks

"Another lame attempt at getting Wednesday to be his." Yoko says with a disgusted face

"What does she mean by that?" Enid asks

I look at her for a moment before I start explaining.

"Xavier claimed to have taken a picture of you getting friendly with another guy. I can easily tell he manipulated a picture of us and replaced me with a guy. I acted as if I bought it. I know you wouldn't do anything of the sort as it is. But in order to find out what he's planning on doing, to him, we need to act as if we have broken up. Maybe if I give him the idea that he has a chance, he'll release the werewolf he is holding captive and he won't be trying to kill me." I explain

Enid's eyes open wide in disbelief of his failed attempt. And then she crosses her arms and furrowed her brows. I can tell she's thinking about this new plan that I have conjured up. She definitely not a fan of this plan but she also understands we need to stop him from hurting me or possibly someone else.

"Does that mean Enid would have to room with me for however long this lasts?" Yoko asks

I look over at the vampire and consider if she should. I mean it would really sell it but at the same time, Xavier's dorm is on the other side of the school so he wouldn't know.

"No that would be unnecessary" I say

"I don't know what I ever saw in him." Bianca says with disgust

"No seriously, what the hell?" Enid says to her

"We all tried to tell you" Divina says

"But back to Wednesday's plan. We can act like we did breakup when we're outside of this dorm. I want him to back off." Enid says

"This would be easier if I just kill him" I state crossing my arms

Enid stands there for a moment, actually considering the offer.

"Wait why am I actually considering that? No. You cannot kill him" Enid says

"Damn wolfie" Yoko says

"If he tries to hurt me, I won't hesitate to kill him" Isay

"That's the only reason you'll have to do that." Enid says pulling me into a hug

Enid and I pull away from each other and I face the three girls on the bed.

"Everyone understands this new plan? Enid and I have 'broken' up. We are not talking or anything of the sorts. Meaning you guys also can't talk to me that much. Bianca is the only one who could talk to me without raising too much suspicion." I explain

Everyone nods their heads.

"Okay. See you guys tomorrow." I say

The three of them hug Enid bye and they leave. Once it was just the two of us left in the dorm, I decide to talk more in depth with Enid about this.

"I know this plan is not the most ideal thing to do but it'll keep us safe for now." I say softly

Enid looks at me and stands closer to me.

"I know and I believe in you." She says

I nod at her statement.

"I will have to spend time with Xavier though. To make him believe it." I say

"I know and I'll try my best to tame my wolf to not rip him apart." She says

I would pay great money to watch that actually happen.

"You might do that anyway if I need you to" I say

Enid chuckles.

"And for you, I would." Enid says with a smile

"Ready for bed?" I ask

Enid nods. We make our way to my bed and she lies down first then I lay down. My head resting on her chest. She wraps her arms around me once again and I wrap my arm around her waist.

No one can tear us apart. Especially Xavier.
