Wednesday's POV

I wake up to the sun glaring into the dorm room. As I come to my senses, I also notice Enid is not in the bed with me. I look around the room and I don't see her. My attention goes to the bathroom where I hear obnoxious music playing. Well, I found her. I will never understand her taste in music. It makes my ears bleed.

I get up from the bed to head to my closet to grab my school uniform. I quickly change and do my hair. Once I finished, I walked over to my desk to gather my books for class. As I'm putting my books in my bag, Enid comes out of the bathroom in her uniform.

"You look like a nightmare that came to life." I say

Enid blushes at my comment and gives me a smile.

She walks up to me and embraces me into a hug before giving me a soft kiss. Her lips on mine will be something I'll always cherish. I won't ever admit to such things but Enid is aware of it.

"Ready to act like we're not hopelessly in love?" Enid asks

I sigh. I wouldn't exactly use those words but Enid is more in touch with emotions.

"If this school is on fire by the end of the day, it was me." I say

Enid chuckles before giving me one last kiss. She walks out of the dorm first and it feels weird. I mean not walking with Enid to class, she has become apart of my routine. My brain likes a routine. Now it's disrupted. These poor souls will pay for it today.

I put my bag over my shoulder and I walk out of the dorm. I head down to the quad and immediately I notice Enid with Yoko and Divina. It's unsettling how empty life can feel when your other half is not right next to you. Is this how my father feels? Gross.

I, unfortunately, spot Xavier at a table across the quad. I put on my neutral deadpan face and make my way over to the boy. I want nothing to do with him but this is for an investigation. This would also make a great chapter in a new book later on.

I take my seat across from him.

"Hey Wednesday." Xavier says happily

"Xavier." I say as I sit down

If I could be anywhere else, I would be. My only thoughts right now are the multiple ways I could torture him. Any sane person would just report him to the police or the headmaster but I'm not one of those people. I also have a rocky connection with the sheriff as it is so.

"Enid looks defeated." Xavier says

I clench my jaw. This conversation might just be the reason a murder takes place.

"I talked to her last night and she did admit to cheating." I say

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a liar because I'm not. I don't like liars. For this situation, lying is essential to get the information I need for the case. Talking about Enid in such a way also bothers me.

"She's probably only sorry cause she got caught ya know." Xavier says with a smirk

I look up at him blankly.

"Mhm." Is all I let out

Xavier smiles at me, which in itself is unsettling, like being in a bright pink room.

"I would never do something like that to you." He says

I raise my eyebrow at him.

"Okay." I say

He looks taken aback by my response. If I supposedly just got out of a relationship, what makes him think I'd be ready for a new one? He should also know I don't "date". I'm only designed for one person and one person only and that person is Enid.

"I'm just saying I could treat you better." He says confidently

Very much doubtful. No one is better than Enid. The way he is talking about her just makes my blood boil. I think it's smart that I make my departure before I kill him.

I stand up and start walking towards my first class. And to my knowledge I don't have any classes with the boy. I pass a bathroom but I get pulled into it. I instinctively place my hand on one of the many knives I carry on me but once the scent of the person hits my nose, I realize it's Enid.

"Enid?" I question as we stand inside of the bathroom together

"I need to kiss you because my wolf is getting very angry at the sight of seeing you with someone else." Enid explains

I nod giving her my consent to kiss me.

Enid cups my face and I pull us closer as she deepens the kiss. We stand there kissing for a few minutes before we pulled away to catch our breath.

"Once a wolf has marked their mate, we get extremely territorial and possessive." Enid says shyly

I look at her softly. This is not new information to me, I'm very educated on wolves by this point considering I took it upon myself to learn everything there is to know about the species.

"I know and it's okay. I'm not mad" I say softly

Enid gives me a soft smile before pulling me into a hug. We exit the bathroom together and walk into our first class together. We do sit next to each other in every class so that helps us both out with this whole ordeal with Xavier.

The teacher starts to talk but I'm not really paying attention since I already have all my work done for this class. I need to figure out a way to speed this process up with Xavier. The less time I spend with him, the better. I guess I could always ask Yoko to help me make a truth serum of some sort since she's adequate with that. I would just have to coax him into drinking it. With his small brain, I'm sure it wouldn't take much effort to get him to drink it.

"Can you tell Yoko to meet us in our dorm at lunch?" I ask Enid quietly

Enid turns to look at me with a surprised expression. It's very out of the blue that I ask for the presence of Yoko.

"Yeah of course." Enid says

She reaches into her pocket to grab her phone and I can only assume she's texting the vampire. Normally I wouldn't ask for help with anything but when it comes to potions, I'm not at a point where I'm confident that whatever I create would work and I need this to work.

The class ends and we go onto our other classes, I'm just counting down the minutes until I can explain a new plan to Enid and Yoko. I do believe Enid would be satisfied with this new plan I have conjured up. It'll get Xavier dealt with a lot faster.  My parents have always told me that if you want something done quickly, you'll figure out a way to do so.

The minutes tick by and finally it was our lunch break. Enid and I make a dash to our dorm before Xavier could spot me anywhere else. Once we entered, Enid pulled me in for another kiss. Unfortunately it was short lived as a knock came from the door.

Enid opens the door to reveal Yoko and we invite her in. Enid and Yoko take a seat on Enid's bed.

"Why did you ask me to meet you here?" Yoko asks

Valid question.

"As much as I don't want to admit this, I have to. I need your assistance in making a potion to force Xavier to tell me the truth about his plans. I know how to make the potions but I am not confident that they would work. Enid has told me that you're adequate in the matter." I explain

Yoko smirks, knowing that I just admitted that she's better at something than I am. I don't enjoy this feeling.

"Yeah I'll help. Enid was ready to rip Xavier apart this morning seeing the two of you together." Yoko says

I look over at Enid who is avoiding eye contact with me because she's embarrassed of how possessive she is over me.

"That's endearing, I would enjoy watching Enid rip Xavier apart." I say

Enid looks up at me with a smile.

The thought of Enid being that way just makes my body feel like it's on fire.

"When would you like to do this?" Yoko asks

"Tonight. Meet me in the laboratory." I say

"I'll be there by 8." Yoko says

"Thank you Yoks" Enid says happily

Yoko nods before exiting the room leaving just Enid and I.

"I will not be returning to class as I need to gather the ingredients I need." I say

Enid looks upset that I won't be in class but ultimately she understands why.

"Okay Wens. Just be careful." Enid says as she stands up

She walks closer to me and gives me a kiss. We look at each other for a moment before she walks off.

Time to get to work. Thankfully everything I need, I can either find in the woods or the store in Jericho.

I change out of my uniform and into my black jeans, a black long sleeve shirt, and a black and white checkered knitted vest. I also grab my black Doc Martins. I get my bag and set Thing inside.

I wait until the bell goes off and I make my exit. I walk out of the back door that leads towards the direction of the woods. I quickly walk towards the woods and I get to work.

After spending a few hours in the woods, I surprisingly gathered everything we need for the potion so I don't need to take an unsanctioned trip to town. I put the ingredients in their own ziplock plastic bag and set them inside of my bag with Thing.

I make my way back to the school. Once I entered, I'm greeted by Xavier who was heading out of Nevermore.

"Hiya Wednesday" The boy says happily

I let out an annoyed sigh.

"What." I respond

"Just wasn't expecting you, do you wanna join me in my art studio?" He asks

I look at him for a moment, considering the option but no one would know my whereabouts if something were to happen.

"I have things to do." I say

I go to walk past him but he grabs my arm.

"It wasn't much of a question." He states firmly

I look up at him annoyed.

"Let go." I snap

Xavier smirks.

"Nah, you're coming with me." He says

I look past him and I see Yoko with Divina. They see me and I give them a nod. Indicating to get Enid and to come find me.

My focus returns back to Xavier who still has a strong grip on my arm. What I didn't see was he grabbed something from his pocket and once I looked up at him again, he covered my nose and mouth.

Everything went black after that.
