Caving in

Wednesday's POV

I wake up feeling weight on me. I look down on my chest and see Enid cuddled up to me. How did this happen? I specifically told her to not do that.

Why can I hear my heartbeat quicken?

No, not happening. I'm not caving in. Enid deserves a better lover. I'm not that.

"Wens?" Enid says still laying on me

"Yes Sinclair?" I respond

"Your heartbeat, it's fast. You okay?" She asks me sitting up

"Yes, I'm perfectly fine Enid." I say still lying down.

"I'm a werewolf Wens, I have really good hearing and I can typically sense when something is off." Enid states

I sit up to get eye level with her.

"You were sleeping on me, that's what caused the elevated heartbeat." I explain

"Oh really?" Enid says with a smirk

"You should start getting ready, mother will be up here any minute to take you dress shopping." I say as I get up from the bed and go towards my desk.

"I'm gonna take a shower then." Enid says as she enters the bathroom.

In the name of Satan, stop that. She's only doing a favor for me. Nothing more.

I hear Enid's obnoxious music playing from the bathroom.

"I wanna ruin our friendship, we should be lovers instead"

Thing scurries over to my desk.

"What is it you hand" I say

"When will you two admit to each other that you wanna be together." He signs

"I'm not above breaking a few fingers Thing. Speak of this again and you'll be down two fingers." I say

"Denial is a river in Egypt" Things signs as he jumps off of my desk and back to his hideout.

What an imbecile.

*crash*

I hear a loud thump coming from the bathroom. I quickly go to the door.

"Enid? Are you okay?" I ask through the door

"Um, ah okay. Wens can you help me." Enid says

"Okay, I'm coming in." I say as I open the door.

I keep my eyes glued to the floor.

"What happened?" I ask

"I um, fell. My towel is hanging up next to you. Grab it for me please." Enid says

I turn to see the towel next to me. I don't dare to look at the unclothed wolf in my bathtub. I hand it to Enid while I'm still looking at the ground.

"Okay I'm covered. Can you help me get out?" Enid asks

I nod my head as I reach my hand out to her.

Enid gets up and out of the shower with little problem.

"Are you in pain?" I ask

"Just a bruise on my elbow and a bruised ego." She says laughing

"Well, um I'll be at my desk." I say as I turn around going back into my room.

Theres a knock at my bedroom door.

I open the door and see my mother standing there.

"I heard a commotion." My mother says

"Enid fell. She's okay." I respond

"Tell her I'm ready whenever she is." My mother says as she goes back down the hall.

I shut my door and head back into the bathroom.

"Mother is ready for you." I say

Enid is doing her makeup and I don't understand why she uses it. She doesn't need makeup.

"I'm just finishing up." She says as she applies more pink stuff to her eyelids

I go wait by the door to escort Enid downstairs.

Enid finally finishes and she comes up to me.

"How do I look?" She asks.

I take a look at her. Absolutely deathly.

"You look so deathly." I say

"Awww thanks Wens!" She responds with a smile.

I open my door and I escort Enid downstairs to my mother.

"Ready darling?" My mother asks Enid

"Yes, I'm so excited!" Enid says.

I give Enid a hug and a kiss on the cheek as we say our goodbye. With that my mother and Enid head out the door. They should be gone for a good couple of hours so that will give me time to work on my novel with no distractions.

I finish 3 more chapters of my novel, I'm impressed with the storyline. Viper is close to solving the newest mystery that has arrived.

Enid and my mother should be back soon. I already have my outfits picked out for the Addams Family Reunion. I will be wearing mostly suits since I feel less exposed that way. Mother knows the style of my suits so she is making sure Enid's dresses match each of my suits.

"Wednesday my little storm cloud, come on down." My father says from the living room.

I get up from my desk and walk down to the living room where my father is sitting in his chair.

"Yes Father?" I ask

"Your mother and wolf arrived, help them with the bags please." He says

I walk outside with Lurch and see my mother and Enid standing by the car.

"Hello Wednesday." My mother says

"Mother." I say

"Omg Wens, I had SOOO much fun!" Enid says beaming with excitement

"I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed yourself my cucciola" I say

I notice Enid's face gets a red tint to it after calling her a "nickname." as she calls it.

"I think you will be pleased with the options Enid has. They match your suits perfectly." Mother says

"We will see if that's true." I say

Lurch and I get into the trunk to get the different dresses. There's 5 in total, 3 of which are ballroom dresses and the other two seem to be the style more skin tight but very formal still.

Lurch and I carry the dresses up to my room where I had already cleared a spot for them. Lurch turns to leave my room, I'm left in the closet thinking about what dress would go with each of my suits better.

"Beautiful right?" Enid says from next to me.

"I didn't hear you come into my room." I say

"I called out your name, what ya thinking about?" She says

"I'm thinking about what dress of yours should go with each of my suits." I say

"Let's start with the first night, your suits are already in order." Enid says

"My first suit is not too formal but still is nice. Black fitted pants with a dark grey shirt with a slim fit black jacket. No tie so that means your dress has to match that style." I explain

"I have a dark grey dress that has white blended throughout it and it doesn't have any ruffles in it. Slim fit too. I think that one would go good." Enid explains as she holds up the dress in question.

"That's perfect." I say

Enid and I spend the next hour matching her dresses to my suits.

"Finally, we're done." I say.

"That was actually kind of fun! We should always plan outfits out together" Enid says

"I would rather wear pink than to do that everyday." I say

"YOU WOULD WEAR PINK????" Enid says

"Organizing outfits like that would make my brain bleed." I respond

"That's fair." Enid says

We walk out of the closet and head downstairs to join my family for dinner.

"Did you two love birds figure it all out?" My father asks

"It was excruciating." I say

"Yes we did! Morticia was fantastic help picking out my dresses. They all match Wednesday's suits." Enid says with a smile.

"Just wait until our little viper sees you in those dresses." My mother says with a reassuring smile.

I inhale deeply not wanting to think about how stunning Enid will in fact look in all of those dresses.

Enid's POV

We eat dinner and have conversations about the reunion. I'm so nervous about it. OMG I need to call Yoko soon to give her an update.

"May we be excused?" Wednesday asks

"Of course darling." Her mom says.

We walk to her room and she goes to the balcony to start playing her cello. I take this time to call Yoko in the bathroom.

"Girl I have so much to update you on!" I say

"Spill it wolfie." Yoko says

"Mrs. Addams took me dress shopping for the upcoming reunion with the family and every single one of my dresses matches with what Wens will be wearing." I explain

"GET IT GIRL! YOU GUYS BETTER AT LEAST MAKEOUT!" Yoko screams

"About that..." I say

"OMG OMG OMG NO WAY!" Yoko says

"OKAY HANG ON LET ME EXPLAIN" I say laughing

"Explain away blondie." Yoko says laughing

"I asked Wednesday if we should, ya know, practice kissing each other so it would look more believable in front of her family. She surprisingly agreed. So we kissed but it turned into a heated make out session." I explain

"OMG WENCLAIR IS HAPPENING! CODE WENCLAIR!" Yoko squeals

"STOPPPP, not yet anyway. It's all for show. But I woke up cuddling up to her this morning and I heard her heartbeat going insanely fast." I added

"WOAH SHE ALLOWED YOU TO CUDDLE WITH HER????" Yoko asks

"Yes." I say

"ASK YOUR EMO GIRL ON A DATE ALREADY." Yoko says

"And get rejected all because maybe I'm being delusional? I think the fuck not." I say laughing

"You are not being delusional. Everyone can see how much Wednesday cares about you and admire you." Yoko says

*knock knock*

"Hang on yolk." I say to yoko

"Yes?" I say towards the door

"It's me." Wednesday says

"Oh come in." I say

Wednesday opens the door and approaches me. I'm nervous. Why is she just staring at me?

"Would you like to accompany me on a walk through the woods?" She asks

"As a date...?" I ask nervously

Wednesday inhales deeply.

"Yes Sinclair. As a....date." She says

My jaw drops. I stand there in shock for a moment. This is real, THE WEDNESDAY ADDAMS finally asking me on a date.

"OMG YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES!" I squeal

"Okay, meet me downstairs is 5 minutes." She says as she walks out of the bathroom and out of sight.

OMG

OMG YOKO IS STILL ON THE PHONE

"OMG YOKO DID YOU HEAR THAT???" I exclaim

"NO SHIT! I HEARD IT ALL. DONT EVEN WORRY! I already texted the girls." Yoko says

"OMG! Okay. I got to go. Love ya Eggyolk!" I say

"WENCLAIR IS HAPPENING FOR REAL. Love ya wolfie!" Yoko says as the call ends.

I look in the mirror and adjust my hair so I can look a little bit more presentable.

I head downstairs and see Wednesday waiting by the front door.

"I'm ready." I say smiling

Wednesday opens the door for me and I walk out with her behind me. We walk side by side to the woods. She takes the lead once we approach the trees since she knows where she's going.

She leads me to a ledge that looks over a lake. I finally look down and notice there's already a blanket and food laid out.

"When did you do this?" I ask as we sit down.

"I heard you on the phone with, I presume Yoko. I snuck out and set this up." She explains

"But I saw you playing your cello." I say with confusion

"You did, but I couldn't concentrate with the squealing. I was going to ask you to quiet down but then I heard you say something to Yoko. You called yourself delusional. I don't particularly like when you talk badly on yourself so I wanted to do this for you so you know you're not being delusional." She explains.

I sit there, processing what she's telling me. Is this Wednesday admitting her feelings towards me? This is a lot to unpack.

"Wens..." I say still in shock of everything thats happening.

I feel her cold hand on my chin to make me look at her. We stare at each other for a moment before closing the gap between us. I feel her soft cold lips on mine. It's finally happening. A real kiss, with real feelings attached.

We break away from each other.

"Enid, I'm not good at expressing my emotions but with you, I feel like I am in a safe place to do so. You make me feel like it's okay to show my vulnerability. I have had these feelings for you since that night you saved my life. I never thought anyone would ever sacrifice their life to protect mine. I felt an overwhelming amount of feelings that I had no idea how to process. You are light in my life of darkness." Wednesday says.

I start to tear up because no one has ever said something so genuine and sweet to me before.

"No one has ever said something like that to me before. Something so genuine and caring. You are the best." I say to her

"It's all true. You bring so much into my life. I admire the way you care about others and the way you are always there when someone needs you. You have such a big heart for those around you. I would burn the world for you cara mia. No one will ever hurt you again. I will protect you and cherish you until the very end." Wednesday says

She's looking at me with such endearment. I feel fireworks going off.

"We are polar opposites but you complete me in every way Wens. You truly make me feel like I matter. I could always tell you cared about me. It was all the little things you would do. Like threaten Ajax when he hurt me. Yoko always pointed out how you would look at me compared to anyone else. I admire how you don't give a fuck about what anyone else thinks about you. You are who you are 100% of the time. Thats one of the many things that attracted me to you. You're never afraid to be yourself. You're also extremely smart and loyal. I'm the lucky one to have you in my life." I say tearing up.

"Do me the honor of being my partner in life and possibly crime?" Wednesday asks

"I would love to." I say leaning in for another kiss

After the kiss, I just realized she said in crime too.

"Wens, what type of crime are you talking about?" I ask laughing

"Just the normal. Torture, kidnapping, murder if necessary." She responds

"Why would we need to do any of that?" I laugh

"A lot of people don't like the Addams family. We need to defend ourselves." She says

"I'm a werewolf so I can be like your guard dog" I say

"You do make a point my cucciola." She says

I check my phone to see that it's already 11pm. We've spent 3 hours out here. Just talking.

"Should we head back?" She asks

"Can we? I'm getting tired." I say

"Of course." She says as we stand up.

Wednesday cleans up the area and picks up the blanket.

Best night ever.

I NEED TO CALL YOKO TOMORROW.
