Lately, Jiang Cheng felt that something is strange. It started that day with Wei Wuxian suddenly barging in and disturbed him who was working... no, that isn't what's strange as that was what's usual with that guy. What was strange is –

"How are you lately?" Wei Wuxian asked as he poured Emperor's smile on their cups.

Jiang Cheng stared at the cups being filled, feeling speechless. This guy asked the same question again today. "It's fine." He answered and decided to pause what he is doing, while expecting the next thing that Wei Wuxian will ask.

"Really? That's good." Wei Wuxian smiled as he picked up his cup. "How about your marriage with Zewu-jun?" he asked.

Jiang Cheng's brow twitched. "It's fine." He answered, like he previously did.

Wei Wuxian frowned. "What do you mean by 'fine'?" he asked as he drank. "Nothing changed? For better?" he looked dissatisfied.

Jiang Cheng looked at him. "What do you expect would happen?" he asked as he picked up his cup.

Wei Wuxian looked at him. He opened his lips to speak, but in the end didn't say anything. Jiang Cheng inwardly sighed. He knows Wei Wuxian cared about him, even if the other never asked him directly how he was doing. But for Wei Wuxian to suddenly ask... how can Jiang Cheng, who grew up with the other, not know that this guy is up to something?

"That's right... I remembered something." Jiang Cheng spoke. "Zewu-jun brought me some dessert. They taste good." He said. Since he has married Lan Xichen, he calls him 'Lan Huan'. But with Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, who he studied with before in Cloud Recesses, he (JC) felt embarrassed and disrespectful calling Lan Xichen by name as Lan Xichen was their senior. Thus, he calls Lan Xichen 'Zewu-jun' if he's with Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji.

"Really?" Wei Wuxian smiled.

Jiang Cheng stared at him. "What are you up to?" he asked. "Is something happening?" he said as he drank.

Wei Wuxian almost answered in reflex, but fortunately stopped in time. When Jiang Cheng speaks like this, it became his habit to truthfully answer.

"I see. So you are really planning something." Jiang Cheng figured out. But, to Wei Wuxian's surprise, didn't say anything.

"You won't ask...?" Wei Wuxian felt guilty. After all, this seems like he is plotting against his brother.

"I know it is for my sake, right?" Jiang Cheng said. Wei Wuxian is just this – doing something for others but wouldn't tell them about it. So, what's the point in asking? "Tell me what you can tell me." He said.

Wei Wuxian paused. "What do you think of Zewu-jun?" he asked instead as he refilled his cup.

Jiang Cheng was not surprised since he can see that this was Wei Wuxian is aiming by asking him those questions. "He's good." He honestly answered. Like how Lan Xichen always is.

"... I see." Wei Wuxian muttered.

Jiang Cheng looked at Wei Wuxian and could feel with his tone that he was disappointed by his answer. However, since he doesn't know what the other was planning, he didn't say anything else.

...

"His impression of brother didn't change." Lan Wangji concluded after Wei Wuxian told him about his conversation with Jiang Cheng.

Wei Wuxian nodded as they left Lotus Pier. "Honestly, I think that their current situation is fine." He spoke. "And with Zewu-jun being better to Jiang Cheng... I am happy for Jiang Cheng. However..." he lowered his gaze.

Lan Wangji looked at him as he understood. Wei Wuxian wants Jiang Cheng to be sincerely happy and not just be satisfied with his (JC) marriage. Better if Jiang Cheng could fall in love, too... as long as Jiang Cheng will have a happy married life.

"It will be fine." Lan Wangji spoke.

Wei Wuxian looked at him.

"I believe in brother." Lan Wangji said. "But, also – " he looked at the sky. Jiang Wanyin should have had hidden something from Wei Ying earlier. He thought.

"'but also'?" Wei Wuxian muttered.

Lan Wangji looked at the love of his life and smiled. "Jiang Wanyin should also want to fall in love, too." He answered.

Wei Wuxian's eyes widened and he laughed. "Ah, Lan Zhan, you are really the best!" he said and kissed his husband.

Lan Wangji chuckled as he kissed him back.
