Ch 112

"Ishi," I heard Sasuke behind me. 

I don't spare him a glance as I continue to pack up. This hideout will soon go into chaos and I am too tired to deal with it. 

But the antisocial guy he is won't ask me what I'm doing. Actually, it might be his pride. Not sure if he doesn't hold me in the right regard or is just embarrassed to ask, I would answer either way. But only if he's polite with it. 

Sasuke seemed to be fed up with me ignoring him so he walked up behind me, right behind me. I had to suppress a chuckle from his intimidation tactics, while they would work on others, this isn't the right way to intimidate me. 

Is this a tantrum? It's a pretty petty one. 

But amusing nonetheless. 

I continue to ignore him, waiting to see if he would go further. From the time when we first spoke to now, he's been rather calm and decent. 

Not speaking too much to me unless he needed something. While he didn't hang around me a lot, neither did he with the others. 

Was it a power struggle? Not in my eyes, but his could be different. 

When I went to grab something, his hand grabbed my wrist. Now, look who's gotten some balls in the last few years. 

His grip was tight, almost hurtful. His sharingan shines in the darker room, illuminating like a light. 

"Ishi," he said slowly, calmly. 

Was this a power struggle? Yes, yes it was. He was weaker before, maybe he wants to test his new power. How childish, picking a fight with me. 

"Sasuke," I keep my back to him, using my other hand to start packing, ignoring his grip. Ignoring his threats. 

I acknowledge his presence, wanting to see if that's all he wanted. If that would appease him. But, I knew better. Sasuke doesn't want the bare minimum. 

To be fair, neither do I. 

His response to me continuing to pack up, grab my other wrist. There, now I'm trapped and defenceless, whatever shall I do? 

I could almost roll my eyes at the antics of this kid. I let out a soft sigh, the epitome of a parent's disappointment. 

"Fine, what is it you want?" 

Is it a fight? Because that would be stupid, he's literally going to learn a new jutsu from Orochimaru. Granted, most of what Sasuke was taught, I was as well. 

But my knowledge on jutsu's and such were more wide than Sasuke's, so he had to use them while I didn't. 

I had my own. 

"You speak of respect, but you don't show it," his words were measured, like he had rehearsed them multiple times in front of a mirror. Looks like he means business. 

"You're a spoiled brat," I shrugged. 

He was Orochimaru's star and had most of his attention. Of course he's taking it for granted. Even Kabuto would agree with me and that's when something is wrong. 

"You are too," Sasuke shot back. 

That got my attention. I guess if you think about it, he's not wrong. But my life is more expendable than his. 

He's Itachi's brother, Orochimaru's first target who got too strong for him. I'm just half Uchiha. While I'm not as precious as Sasuke, my life holds worth. 

So sure, I am spoiled. 

"You can't demand my respect this way," I tried to take my hands back from him but he made his grip even more tight. This is going to be fun to move past, because I don't think he will. 

"Should I take your advice on how to get it?"

 His voice is mocking, a light sneer etched onto his lips. And that's when I got annoyed. 

He wanted to be taken seriously and persisted to show me exactly why he doesn't have it. While he does have my pity, he should also remember who I am. 

"Sasuke, I don't care how hurt your pride can get. Do not start something with me." 

I have done many things to help him, I still do things to help him. I won't get upset over a tantrum because one of us needs to set up and be an adult. 

I am 18 now, and he is still learning. 

I tear my wrists from his grip and turn around to face him, with no sharingan. There was no need to bring it out, I would win either way. 

"Go outside and wait for him, I know he's late but don't take it out on me." I wave him off and finish packing. 

Walking over to the grand carving of a huge snake is, I sit next to Sasuke, dropping my bag on the floor. 

"You cannot pick a fight every time you get upset," I speak calmly, knowing his mood is already sour. 

He doesn't acknowledge my presence, still facing the entrance of the hideout. Does he want to treat me to the silent treatment? Or is he very annoyed by Orochimaru being late. I only ignored him when he was rude and he recognized this. Is he acting childish on purpose? 

"There will always be stronger opponents. Is that what you wish to say?" His voice is mocking again, but I let it go. 

He voiced back the very words I have been saying to him. Listening well and at least using my words. 

"I didn't need to say it," I offered a small smile to him. 

While he has been annoying the absolute crap out of me, I will still protect him when needed. Isn't that what being a big sister is? 

I tensed the moment I sensed them coming, "their here." 

Sasuke narrowed his eyes, activating his sharingan as Orochimaru and Kabuto appeared with a new guest. 

"You're late." Sasuke sounded impatient, ready to get with what he had been promised. 

"Orochimaru, did you forget about how you said you were going to teach me a new jutsu this afternoon?" 

Kabuto sounded annoyed but expecting, "You fail to mind your mouth as always." 

Kabuto glanced at me after he spoke, his raised brows communicating his thoughts. While I don't let Sasuke get away with his rudeness, Orochimaru does. 

Sasuke was mostly more 'polite' with me because I would ignore him. It's not exactly like it's his choice. 

Orochimaru was again amused, not caring one bit for this. He had something else for his entertainment. 

"Oh do calm down please. Instead of training, I happen to have come by a little present for you," he motioned with his head to the young man beside him. 

"He's a shinobi from the leaf, just like you. I figured you could bathe yourself in nostalgia, talking about your old village." 

Looks like Sasuke picked up all these mocking tones from Orochimaru. His words were silver lies, but I didn't need to say that. 

Sasuke spared the young ninja a glance, unimpressed. 

"Whatever."
