Visiting

01:39, 27 June 2023

"We can stitch up both sides and start a drip to replenish..." Tony's eyes dance as he runs through possible solutions in his mind.

"Sir, Y/N's body would not survive the surgery," FRIDAY comes over the intercom speakers.

"WELL WE HAVE TO TRY SOMETHING!" Tony pounds his fist on the countertop.

Loki's made his way to where your head rests, the only sound now in the room coming from his boots and footsteps.

"How...how much ti...?" Tony's voice breaks at the end of the sentence.

"An hour. At most," FRIDAY replies.

Loki slowly moves his hand to your cheek, "I cannot lose you."

Tony looks over at Loki, "You've healed them before. Is there anything you can do?"

Loki keeps his hand in place, while his eyes travel your body, taking another look at your wounds, "I cannot guarantee th..."

"Try," Tony interrupts with a plead. "NEITHER of us can lose them. Please, Loki."

Most of the team stand shocked at Tony's words to Loki, "I will do everything that I can." Loki kneels down at your side, "Stay with us, my Impossible Mortal." Loki uses his magic and starts to heal your wounds.

----------------------------------------------------

3 weeks later, Loki's in one of the training rooms. He's in dark green athletic clothes with 'Stark' written across the front of the shirt.

Thor has been standing in the doorway watching Loki for nearly a minute before he steps in, "Loki."

Loki takes another swing with a baton at one of the practice dummies, "Unless Y/N is now awake, I do not wish to be disturbed."

Thor ignores him and continues into the room, "I am glad to see you have most of your energy replenished, but you are supposed to be taking in eas..."

"NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS EASY, THOR!" Loki's voice vibrates off of the sound-proof walls.

Thor sees Loki's white-knuckle-grip on the baton, but keeps his composure, "You did everything you could. It is up to Y/N now."

Neither brother speaks for about 30 seconds.

"And if they never wake?" Loki says a lot quieter, still spinning the long baton in his palm.

Thor takes a deep breath.

Loki throws the baton across the room and shakes his head, walking past Thor to the door.

"You should go see Y/N, Brother," Thor says as the door closes behind Loki.

Loki heard Thor, but kept walking. He hasn't been in your room since he healed you.

On the way back to his room, he passes the medical wing, including your door, and for the first time in 3 weeks, Loki pauses at your door and reaches for the handle.

The beeping from the heart-monitor attached to you is the only sound coming from the room.

Loki's hand brushes the handle for a few seconds, but ultimately continues to his room.

Meanwhile, your eyes slowly open, but you're in a garden instead of the tower.

"Now, I usually do not get visitors here," a voice comes from behind you.

You turn and face the familiar voice.

"Hello, dear," a woman dressed in Asgardian clothing greets you.

Your eyes widen, "Queen Frigga..."

She gathers the bottom of her dress and sits on a bench, motioning for you to join her, "Formalities are not necessary; Frigga will do just fine."

You slowly sit next to Frigga, "I'm...am I...?" You look down at your hands, which then get covered by Frigga's.

"You are still alive," Frigga gives your hands a squeeze. "Nearly time to wake."

You nod, but then it hits you, how you must have sounded, "Sorry, I didn't mean..."

When you look to Frigga, she smiles, "I came to terms with my fate long before it happened, child. No need to apologize."

You sense that that ends the topic, so you no longer press, "Loki's told me so much about you."

Her smile widens, "He has done the same of you, every time he speaks to me."

Now you smile a little.

"I was also hoping you could pass a message along to both of my sons," Frigga's expression turns a bit more serious.

"Of course," you promise.

She gives your hands another squeeze, "Tell them that it was neither of their faults. Nothing they could have done would have prevented my passing."

You immediately know what Frigga is referring to, "I will."

"Thank you," she takes a look around. "Our time together is finished."

Frigga releases your hands and you both stand.

"What Heimdall gave you," Frigga gives you a stern, serious tone and expression. "Do not forget about it. You will need it."

Before you can respond, Frigga and the garden fade into what becomes the medical room in the tower.

Author's Note: This part is a bit shorter, but I'm hoping to maybe get 1 or 2 more parts out this week before I head on vacation on Saturday! Anyone living in Paris, London, or Amsterdam, drop some suggestions for food or must-do's! ;)
