Chapter 47

10:52, 5 March 2026

KEIFER POV

I should be concerned and worried, pacing back and forth. Because of Cyrus and my father, no. But because the woman I love is currently staring at me like I am going to slaughtered and cooked for dinner. I mean I wouldn't mind being her dinner but you get it.

Gab was first one counting. The rule was that whoever was found last the most, was the winner. The winner could then wish one thing from everyone. Whether it's something they'd like you to do or give that was prize. The prize was already very bad and the people I'm competing are very competitive. So I had to win this because who knows what they might ask of me. Not a good idea.

Gab counted slow, up to 20 so we could find somewhere to hide. Then I realised something. There were many rooms and areas in the condo floor that the kids could not go, specifially Jay. The gym (she'll fall and hurt herself), Gaming area (too dark, she'll trip). Basically, them going anywhere was a safety hazard.

I planned to follow whatever Kiara and Jay were doing but they looked they were planning to win so I did my best and hid in a dressing room. Was it the best hiding spot? No, but that's what I got to in 20 seconds.

I was hiding under the dressing table where there was enough space for me to be under. I couldn't hear Gab so I did my best to stay quiet. I even took the time to scroll on my phone, searching for where my father and Cryus could be. (apparently Edrix was left in his hotel room because he annoyed Freya and then Rory stayed with him)

As I was texting Edrix and Rory, (who were teasing me because I am such a great father) , the door creaked open. Shit! I was going to loose. I mean I would do anything the kid says but Jay would never let live it down.

Footsteps came closer and closer to me and I knew I was done. Since the lights were off, I had no idea how to get off safely. Suddenly a light switched on, maybe a flashlight or phone and they were coming closer. I was trying to escape by crawling away quickly but then a face appeared and I screamed.

The person covered my mouth and pushed back inside the dressing table and that's when I realised that it was Jay.
