Chapter 48
11:57, 5 March 2026JAYJAY POV
This was great. I was finding a place to hide because being in the bathroom was a really bad choice. It was basically giving myself away and my back hurt laying on . So I went into the dressing room where I was greeted y complete darkness.
I didn't think much of it but I still didn't want to draw attention while playing hide and seek. I grabbed the torch from my side table and turned it on before carefully closing the door. I crept slowly using the light to find me somewhere I could hide. The cupboard was a bad choice since I would have to squeeze myself in. The table seemed like the best choice before I noticed a head come out.
I didn't see anything before it screamed at me and I mean come on, I know I am gorgeous. But I still had a game to win so I ran to cover the person's mouth and shoved them back under the table when I realised who it was. Mark Keifer Watson.
"What are you doing here?"I threatened while whispering. Not a great idea.
"What are you doing here? This was my hiding spot."He said, acting all sassy.
"I didn't know you were here but you're stuck with me now. And if you make sound, I will run you over."I threatened, bringing my face closer.
"Give me space."He said, straightening up and pushing me gently back.
I was backed into the other corner while he was backed in the other. We were acting like the other had a contagious disease. He didn't make any eye contact with me and just scrolled on his phone. I didn't look into it much because I wanted to win.
But what I wasn't winning at was understanding this man. I thought he would stop being so tense and secretive but then again I hid the fact I had kid and hid from him for 5 years. I wasn't that better when it came to Cyrus either. I had to Keifer, especially since Cyrus had to leave messages for me at the office. It was by letters, food boxes, aynthing he was getting hands on. I should be telling him, right?
"What's happening?"I figured the best way to talk to him was to see if he was stressing about anything.
"Nothing."He answered without even looking at me.
"There is something."I repiled.
"There is nothing. Stop stressing."He repiled.
"Are you hiding something from me?"I asked.
"Are you hiding something from me?"He asked back.
"Well are you?" I shot back. Shit, he was going to find out.
"Answer first. You always execpt an answer before you answer. Why is it that you can't tell me but I have to answer your every question?"He said, and I didn't need light to know that he was mad.
"Did I do something?"I asked, quietly.
"No its about what you didn't do. Tell me anything. Now when I hear that something is happening to you, you still don't tell me anything."I could only bow my head at his words.
"How did you find that out?"I muttered my head still low.
Keifer's hands then rose to lift my face up.
"Jay, this is our family now. Our family. But you not telling me things makes me think you don't want to be."He said. What was he on about? No, this wasn't right.
"No, no, no. That's not what I want."I tried to muster the words but I was just scared. What if he knew what a pathetic mother I was? I didn't pay attention for a second and my kids were tramuatised. I tramuatised them when I still couldn't deal with my past.
Suddenly, the light switched on and two faces appeared. Gab and Kiara.
"Found you, Mummy and Daddy! I win!"Gab cheered as Kiara judged him. I hurt your father so much, babies, I was hurting myself.
