Chapter 28

JAYJAY POV

"Mummy! Look bubble!"Gab yelled, pointing to the bubbles. Bubble baths were Kiara and Gab's favourite.

"Yeah!"I said. I turned to Kiara who just popped the bubbles with her finger. "Are you okay, Kiki?"

"Is that man really our daddy, Mummy?"Kiara asked. I knew Gab seemed to like Keifer more but I didn't really know what to do about Kiara. She reminded me so much of myself. Where I grew up with my mother barely there, I was there for her. I thought that was the one right thing I did when being a parent. Actually being there for your kid. Maybe I had messed up not having Keifer around.

Your finally understanding what you're doing wrong. Making mistakes and hurting the people around you. Just die. It'll do a lot of people good.

There was it again. That voice. The voice that always had something to say. I didn't tell anyone. I just beared it. Because it was true. I was a mistake. I am always hurting people. 

"Mummy? Are you okay?"Gab asked. I really needed to get a hold of myself. Kiara and him looked at me with concern on their faces.

"Yeah, I am. I think it's time to get out. Come on!"I said, standing up to get them each out. I got Kiara out first and then Gab. I started drying them off with a towel.

"Mama! You're gonna rub our faces off."Gab cried.

"Yeah!"Kiara said.

"You guys might get sick."I repiled.

After their crying and whining, I grabbed some pyjamas to change them into.

"I really like them, Mama. They're pretty."Kiara said.

"Clothes are clothes. Can I go play now?"Gab asked.

"Go on."I gestured to the door. Gab bolted for the door while Kiara stayed behind with me.

"Can you tie my hair, Mama?"Kiara asked.

"Of course, baby. Go get my bag and I'll do your hair."I said, while Kiara smiled and went to go get my bag.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I practically looked dead. Dark circles, messy hair, makeup smudged by the water and tears.

"You're pretty, Mama."Kiara said, holding a small bag carrying my hair products.

"You'll be even more prettier."I repiled. I sat down on the bathroom floor and I gestured for Kiara to sit on my lap. She sat down and handed me the bag.

I took out two hair ties and started tying her hair into pig tails.

"Mama, I'm sorry for scaring the man. I just-"I wrapped my arms around her.

"It's okay. But are you sure, you're okay?"I asked her.

"I am. I promise that I'll be better."She answered.

"Baby, I can't ask you to be better. You're your own person. I'll support you in whatever you choose."I repiled.

"I like him, Mummy. I just don't know why I get scared."She said.

"It's ok. Did I tell you how I couldn't believe that I had a dad?"I asked.

"You didn't? What about grandpa?"She asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"I didn't know I had a dad until I was 17."I answered her. "So it's okay if you don't know what to do. Just promise me you'll tell me what happens."

"Okay, Mummy."She answered.

KEIFER POV

The food was taking a while so Gab and I were watching a movie. Finding Nemo. It was one of my favourite movies. I watched it with Keigan and Mama when she was pregnant with Keiren. One of the last good memories with her. Before that monster killed her. One of the darkest parts of my life. But maybe that'll change. Starting with now.

Gab curled against me as we watched Nemo's mum tried to protect her eggs. Only saving Nemo. Sometimes I wondered how it was to be Nemo. How your mum willingly sacrificed herself for you but you ended up loosing a lot more. You could do nothing about it and had to watch as they died right in front of you.

"Mummy would do that."Gab whispered to himself.

"What?"I asked him. I knew she would 100% do that but was she really evident about that? Sometimes I really didn't know much about Jay.

"Mummy says,"I'll never let anyone hurt. Not now and not ever." She says that to me and Kiki when we sleep. It helps me sleep."He answered, without taking his eyes of TV.

That made me feel proud. That Jay was still the same person she was 5 years ago. The person that would kill to protect the people close to her. The angel that could change easily into a devil. A dream. My dream.

Jay and Kiara came out later. Kiara's hair was in small pig tails and Jay looked tiredly beautiful. Most people when they see their love tired, think they look fine. But Jay made looking tired beautiful. Even if she was clearly exhausted, she made it beautiful. She could walk out like that and people will still think she was absolutely gorgeous.

"Kiki! Come watch!"Gab exclaimed, moving pillows around so she could sit. She simply looked at me and then went to sit next to her brother.

"Mummy, aren't you going to watch?"Kiara asked.

"I'll go take a shower first. Or do you want to?"She said, looking at me, her eyebrow raised.

"Well, I could use some help. If you could help, that would be greatly appreciated."I teased.

Her face immediately turned to stone. "If you don't-"She looked back at the kids, "F-U-C-K-I-N-G kill you."

"Wow. It was just a joke."I said, standing up from the couch.

The bell suddenly rang.

"Oh. That must be dinner."She said, going to the door.

She went to the door and answered it. I went after when I heard a man's voice. Pizza man or not, I paid for food not for them to take her away.

"So I wondered if you were like single."The guy asked her. He had only been here for like 5 minutes and he already asked?

"Unfortunately, she's taken. I suggest you leave."I said, putting an arm around her shoulder.

"Keifer."She said.

"Sorry man."He said, quickly giving her all the pizza boxes. Then he left.

"You really need to stop scaring people."She said.

"The kids are hungry and you're flirting."I said.

"What a baby."She pulled my arm of her shoulder. She then walked off. I closed the door and walked off with her.

She was already serving the pizzas and placed two pizzas on a plate. The kids were already eating and then she sat down and started eating.

"Who's these for?"I asked.

"There for you. Take it or leave it."She said.

"I'll take it."I said, immediately sitting down.

"Mummy. Don't you kiss Daddy on the lips?"Gab asked. Jay who was drinking some water, nearly spat it out. 

Because I wanted to tease her, I said, "Well, you have to ask your mum about that."

Gab turned to Jay, who looked at me with murder, said, "Why did you ask, Baby?"

"Well, Uncle Aries always kissed Auntie Ella but you never do with daddy."He explained.

"Kissing is disgusting."Kiara said, reaching for another slice.

"Yeah. I don't think your sister would like that."She explained with a smile but then glared at me.

I will kill you, Watson. That what's she was thinking about.
