A bad cold

Resuming the chapter from before.

Agasa Residence, 5:27 pm..

Conan was in Haibara's bed, she was beside him calling Doctor Agasa to hurry. Conan was sweating profusely and his breathing was unsettling. Finally Doctor Agasa came with a towel in his hand and pills with the other.

"His cold just got worse Hakase!" Haibara said and touched his forehead. "Look he's burning." Doctor Agasa made Conan sit up, but he was unconscious. "Ai-kun calm down, he's now unconscious I need to make him swallow the pill with the water, go get him another change of clothes." He said and Haibara nodded getting up from her seat.

Doctor Agasa opened Conan's mouth and put the pill in his mouth, he slowly poured a small amount of water and closed his mouth bringing his neck up and making him swallow the contents.

Haibara was back with clothes in her hands. "Alright now help me undress him." She nodded and took off his shirt while Doctor Agasa took off his pants. "He's starting to breathe normally but his body is damp let me get a big towel to dry him a little." He said and left the room. Haibara was holding him upright and looked at him.

"You stupid detective, why'd you go out in such a weather." She whispered glaring at him even though she knew he can't see her.

Doctor Agasa came back and dried his body a little, now they were both putting new clothes on him, after they were done, they made him lay back in the same position he was earlier. Doctor Agasa grabbed the small wet towel he brought earlier and placed it on his forehead to reduce his fever.

"I guess now we have to wait till he wakes up, do you want to stay by his side?" Doctor Agasa asks. "Yes, I'll notify you when he wakes up." She says tucking Conan in. Doctor Agasa nods and leaves the room. Haibara stares at Conan and caresses his arm. He stopped sweating and now he was just sleeping with the fever slowly dying down.

'I should make him something to eat for when he wakes up.' she thought and got up from bed and walked out of the room, downstairs to the kitchen. She decided to make him some chicken soup.

By the time she was done, she looked at the clock, it was now 5:55 pm. She grabbed the tray with the chicken soup bowl on top and went upstairs to her room, where Conan was.

He was still sleeping in the same position she left him in. She put the tray on the bedside table and sat next to him on the bed. She caressed his face slowly and Conan's eyes start to open. She quickly backs her hand away. "Did I wake you up?" She asks as he opens his eyes and looks at his surroundings. "Hm? No Ai.." he says and removes the towel from his head.

"I'll go wet it again." She said grabbing it. "Let me sit you up first." She said and helped him sit up. "I made you chicken soup, eat it while it's hot, here." She brings the tray over to his lap and places it there, then she turns to leave the room.

"Wait! Stay with me..please?" He asks and she quickly stops, thinking and then giving in with a sigh. She turns and starts walking towards him, sitting on his bed. "Eat your food." She orders and he grabs his spoon his hands shaking dropping some soup on the tray. "Here let me help you." She says and grabs the spoon from his hands, she blows a little so that it isn't hot for his mouth and brings it towards his lips.

"Open." She orders again and he complies, his cheeks warming up from the warm feeling of the soup and he felt something fuzzy in his stomach, he didn't know if it came from the food, or Haibara. She started feeding him that way until only some were left.

"I'm full Ai I can't eat anymore.." he says grabbing his stomach. "There's only some left c'mon." She said dragging the spoon towards him. "Noo I seriously can't." He whines pushing the spoon away, splashing a little soup on Haibara's lips. "Oh sorry let me.." he said his voice trailing off as he leans forward to wipe off the soup from her lips with his fingers.

Haibara feels blush creeping in on her cheeks for a minute but quickly returns to her normal face. Conan leans back to his spot and looks at her. She's stuck looking at him too, his crimson blue eyes having her locked in not staring anywhere else. "Ai.." Conan breaks the silence, blushing a little. Haibara snaps back to herself and gets up holding the food tray. "I'll go wet this then, stay here." She says and exits the room.

Conan just sits there staring at her figure as she leaves, he sighs looking up, his hands were still shaking, he still had that fuzzy feeling in his stomach, it started when she was feeding him and it was a comfortable feeling, he felt safe.

Haibara came back snapping him from his thoughts, she had a wet towel in her hands. "Lay down." She says and he does, she then places the wet towel on his forehead. "Get some sleep, this type of cold needs lots of sleep and rest." She says looking at his eyes again. "Okay.." he says and then he realizes something. "Wait I'm in your bed, where will you sleep?" He asks looking up at her. "Oh..in the living room I guess." She says, she hadn't thought about this. "No way, I'll sleep on the couch come sleep here." He says starting to get up from the bed. "No lay back down." She orders but he doesn't listen and so she pushes him back down. "Hey- no!" He says and tries to sit up again but she pushes him again, too hard for her liking and ends up falling on him.

Their faces are so close to each other, she was staring at his eyes again, and he found himself staring at her lips, he deeply missed how she tasted. None of them were making a move, they stayed there, getting closer to each other and finally their lips met, desperately. Conan slowly grabbed her head and pulled her closer to him, deepening the kiss. Haibara realized what was happening later and pulled away. "You're sick Kudo-kun." She said standing up. "So? You can't kiss your boyfriend if he's sick?" He asks rasing his eyebrow. "Yes because I'd get sick too, smart pants." She said fixing her hair. "Oh come on." He said grabbing her hand and pulling her, making her fall next to him in bed.

"Hey-" "Shh you're sleeping next to me it's settled so both of us don't sleep in the living room alone." He said and laid down. "But-" "no buts." He said sharply and she sighed. "Fine let me adjust your towel at least." She says and props herself on one elbow, adjusting the towel that fell from his forehead.

"Goodnight Ai." He said. "And thank you for taking care of me." She laid back down next to him. "Of course, who else would have to take care of your stupid self." She tsked and turned off her night lamp. "Now sleep, id better see you all in good health tomorrow." She said closing her eyes. "At least cuddle me a bit so I feel loved." He teases. Haibara gives in and scooches closer to him, resting her head on his chest. "Goodnight Kudo-kun." She said dozing off.
