Misunderstanding

This chapter takes place a month after the previous one.___________________________________________

Agasa Residence, 2:23 pm..

Conan and Haibara have just arrived from school, they arrived a bit late since it was raining and they had to wait in the school locker area.

Conan drops his backpack on the floor as soon as they get in the door and plops down on the couch in the living room. Haibara doing the same thing but more elegantly, she was tired indeed but Conan was always more dramatic.

"Ugh today was soo long." He complains. "Thank god it's over so stop complaining." She says giving him a glare. "Whatever you evil-eyed witch." He taunts. "Corpse magnet." She spits back.

"There you guys are, knew it was you from your bickering." Doctor Agasa says. "Hello Hakase." Both of them say in unison. "Why the gloomy mood?" He asks the both of them. "Nothing Hakase." Answers Conan. "Oh well, who's hungry for some pizza?" Doctor Agasa says as he pulls out two boxes of pizza.

"Hakase you ordered pizza?? Seriously, and what about your health and the diet I made for you? You have to keep following it or else-" "-or else I'd die by the age of 80 I know Ai-kun, but you seem tired and you can't cook if you're tired so let's just let it slide today." Doctor Agasa completes.

Conan already has a mouth full of pizza when the 2 people stopped talking. Haibara sighs and just grabs a slice from the box.

After they were done eating, Conan put on a football game and started watching it. Meanwhile Haibara was reading a magazine. Doctor Agasa was nowhere to be seen, probably in his lab or something. Suddenly a phone rang, it was haibara's, both of the shrunken adults attention were now on it.

She grabbed her phone and answered the call. "Yes who's this? Oh hi Tsuburaya-kun." She says as she gets up and walks towards the window.

Conan rolls his eyes and continues watching TV, the other reason why he was irritated today was because Mitsuhiko kept trying to talk to Haibara and get near her, he even accidentally touched her boob today and he almost fainted.

Conan brushed it off but it was still lingering in his mind. He was getting more irritated and what made him tick was the voice of Haibara, laughing. She was laughing on the phone. She barely laughed in general.

Conan quickly got up and walked over to her. "Hey I'll call you later okay?" Haibara says noticing Conan. She hangs up and looks at him. "What?" She asks. "Are you done flirting with the guy? Gosh it's like you're doing it on purpose." He says, irritation clear in his tone. "Huh what do you mean?" She asks crossing her arms. "Maybe I shouldn't have interrupted your conversation since you seem to be having fun, laughing and all." He says, his anger growing more. "First of all, I was laughing because he said that Genta slipped in the rain today and second of all, what's your problem?" She says sighing, feeling a headache forming.

"Mhm, how about you just go to him, he would love that." Conan argues. "God Kudo-kun you're acting childish." She says now irritated. "Stop it Ai, I'm honestly sick of you both." He says shouting. "You're making this a big deal more than it is." She rolls her eyes.

They both argue like that for a couple of mins until Doctor Agasa comes and breaks them apart. "What's going on? Shinichi? Ai-kun?" He comes in between them. They both turn their heads the other way. "I'm going back to my house, I can't stay here." Conan says and turns to walk to the door. "Sure leave, such a childish behaviour." Ai complains. He then slams the door shut as he exits. "I'm going to my lab Hakase, don't come in unless it's really important." She says and goes to her lab downstairs also shutting the door.

'oh gosh what do I do?' Hakase asks himself sighing. 'I'll just leave them like that for an hour they'll eventually calm down.' he thought and walks to the kitchen to make some coffee.___________________________________________

Kudo Mansion, 3:39 pm..

Conan was in his room, on his bed with his arms on his head, frustrated, he let his anger get to him and just burst infront of Haibara. He needed to take a cold shower to clear his head, he quickly got in and removed his clothes.

Haibara on the other hand was in her desk working, whenever she was frustrated, she would distract herself with anything, most of that was work, so she would work herself until she passes out from tiredness. Her mind slowly started to wander off into their argument again, and she stopped typing on her computer and removed her glasses pinching the bridge of her nose.

She didn't usually get irritated like that but Conan was just going too far for her. 'i need some coffee' she thought as she gets up to go upstairs and make herself a cup of coffee.

When Conan got out of the shower, it started raining again and he just stared out the window, he figured he should just apologize to Haibara later, so he got dressed and dried his hair, he got out his umbrella and put on his coat and boots. He left his house and started walking in the rain, he didn't consider getting sick plus he just got out of the shower but he was oblivious like usual, so he walked to the park near their neighborhood to get his words ready, he sat down on a bench and started thinking.

Meanwhile Haibara started thinking about what had happened and put herself in his place, maybe he had the right to get mad since Mitsuhiko was kind of flirting, she finished her coffee and decided to go to his house, she put on her coat and grabbed her umbrella. "Hakase I'm going to Kudo-kun's mansion don't wait for me!" She says and heads out.

Conan was in deep thought and didn't realize the cold he was feeling, he started sneezing too but all he could feel was guilt for yelling at Haibara. He couldn't bring himself to go to her so he just sat there thinking.

Haibara kept knocking on his house but no one opened. "Kudo-kun I'm coming in, I don't care if you're mad but you should at least let me in." She says closing the door behind her. "Kudo-kun?" She calls out, no answer. She stared searching his whole house but didn't find him. 'where could he be?' she thought. She grabbed her phone and called him, all she got was the answering machine. She found his phone on the living room couch. 'he must've left his phone and went somewhere, but where would he go in this weather?' she asks herself and decides to go look for him.

She leaves his house and starts walking around their neighborhood. She reaches the park and spots a figure of a familiar person. 'could it be?' she thought as she approached the person. No doubt it was him. "Shinichi! Where were you I was looking everywhere for you gosh!" She says worried and crouches infront of him and snaps him out of his trance.

"Oh h-hey Ai..I went out to clear my head, I'm sorry I shouldn't have yelled, I just got a little bit..well jealous." He confesses. "Nevermind that let's go home you're soaking wet." She says grabbing him and standing up.

They made it to Doctor Agasa's house and she sat him on the couch. "Wait here I'll call Hakase." She says leaving, and then coming back a min later with Doctor Agasa. "Shinichi what happened to you come upstairs let's get you in some clean clothes." He says and Shinichi sneezes. Haibara sighs as she helps Doctor Agasa drag Conan upstairs with him.

They seat him on the bed and get him some spare clothes. "Ai-kun, you help him change, I'll go make something warm to drink." She nods as Doctor Agasa leaves and she turns to Conan. "You're such a troublemaker." She sighs removing his coat and his shirt, he was now shirtless.

She grabs his clean shirt and helps him put it on, next she helps him get out of his pants and get him into some sweatpants, she managed to keep an expressionless face all the while. "Ai..I'm sorry, I yelled at you and then I made you leave and look for me in this weather, I'm such a bad boyfriend.." he sighs and Haibara looks at him with a little bit of guilt in her eyes. "It's not your fault, I should've just told Tsuburaya-kun that I'm not interested."

She then helps him lay down and covers him in the blanket. "Thank you for this." He says smiling. "Don't worry about it." She says and leans down to kiss his temple, she feels it and backs away immediately, it was burning up and he was starting to sweat and breathe heavily. "Your temperature is really high-" she got interrupted and looks at his face.

He was panting, his eyes closed. Haibara had a worried look on her face. "Hakase! Come quick! Shinichi is really sick." She calls for Doctor Agasa and turns back to Conan. She holds his hand and looks at him worried.
