Brooklyn exhaustedly trudged into the door of his house, kicked his dirty shoes off onto the clean wooden floor, and fell into the couch. Having every job in town was exhausting, high-paying or not. He turned on the TV and channel surfed, but sadly all the good shows had just ended. "Aw shucks..." He mumbled.

He heard footsteps behind him, and he turned to see his wife Karen approaching him. She looked happy to see him while holding a sandwich on a tray. She sat on the couch next to him and handed him the tray. "I made your favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner." She said with a cheerful smile on her face.

Brooklyn wanted to scoff at the dinner and demand an actual meal, but he really didn't feel like whining, so he just took it. "Thanks..."

"Rough day at work? What happened? Tell me all about it." She asked.

Brooklyn sighed. "I lost a friend today."

Karen gasped, and her happy expression turned into a sad one. "Oh no! I'm so sorry for your loss boiney! What happened?"

"He didn't die, Karen. He just... he's being accused of some bad stuff, and I know there's a chance it's not true, but... there's gotta be a reason he's being accused, right?" Brooklyn explained.

"Well... have you heard his side?" Karen asked. "Maybe he's being accused unfairly. Anything's possible."

"You may be onto something... But, I don't know what I'd do. I'm taking a break with law stuff for a while."

Karen thought for a moment. "Well, you could at least give him your support. That'd make him at least a little happier."

Brooklyn knew Karen was right. Maybe he could talk to Chef PeePee, though he didn't know if he really had it in him. They weren't the best of friends... though they were only acquaintances at worst. He didn't want to focus on that right now. All he wanted was to eat his sandwich and go to bed.
