Lost

____________

Hello everyone! Well, this is the last chapter. We've had some fun times with Kaji, didn't we? Haha! I'm just messing with you, Kaji doesn't get thrown away that easily! The sequel, of course, is called Found. I have it up right now, and the story of the oh-so-powerul Kaji Tora is not done! But other than that, I really do have to thank you for all of your support. I can't thank you for all that you have done, cause it was much more than you know! Thank you so much, and I'll see you in the next book!

Peace

Kaji's POV

My head darted left and right, panic filling every inch of me.

'The one thing I didn't think would happen, did. What luck I have.' I grumble in my mind, putting up a mindblock before Minoru can make any smartass comments.

"Kaji!" They yelled.

The two groups I wish would never cross paths, are going to. Because of my ignorance.

Kisame, Itachi, and Hidan are 30 meters to my right.

Kakashi, Neji, Kiba, Sakura, and Guy all stood roughly 26 meters to my left.

'Shit.'

They all look at me in shock, seeing the opposite group, except for Itachi, who hid it behind his eyes, not willing to show any semblence of emotion in front of anyone but me.

"Kaji, do you know them?" Kakashi asks with a hard voice, clenching his fists. I see Guy looking at me the same way, and Neji, Kiba, and Sakura all have disbelief written on their faces.

"Kaji? You're with these jackasses?" Hidan bellows from beside Kisame.

Itachi seems to ask the same question silently, and Kisame looks at me in shock.

"Kaji, are you really, with, them?" Kisame asks. They knew I was a citizen of Konoha, but they thought that I favored them more and would soon be switching to their side. Konoha knew nothing of my relations to the Akatsuki, which would be plenty of evidence as to why they are so shocked.

"Hey!" Kiba barks from the side, an irk mark appearing on the side of his forehead. "Who you callin' a jackass, jackass?!"

Kakashi quickly covers Kiba's mouth with his hand, and Neji shakes his head in dissapointment.

"Oh, so now dog boy is gonna try to preach to me?!" Hidan screams from the sideline, being held back by Kisame. "Come here, you little shrimp!"

'Shit, what do I do now?'

Kiba yells something under Kakashi's hand, sounding like, "I could take you on any day, you scrub!"

Hidan obviously hears him, and starts clawing in Kiba's direction.

I look over to Guy, seeing him glare at me. I move my head to Sakura, who has small tears running down her cheeks. My eyes widen, and I quickly look over to Neji, who has a stone cold look in his eye. In an attempt of desperation, I dart my head towards Kakashi, who is still looking at me with clenched fists and a glare. I look down at the ground, feeling a burning sensation in the back of my eyes.

Crack.

I look to Itachi, who doesn't show even a hint of emotion, looking at Kakashi, who is looking at me. I turn to Kisame, who to me, has an obvious look of betrayl and hurt in his eyes. I switch my gaze to Hidan, who isn't even looking at me. But I can see that the situation is getting him very worked up, and he tries to hide his hurt by getting easily agitated.

Crack.

I look to both sides, again and again, and then turn my head to look at the ground. Both sides, while Hidan and Kiba, start to bicker extremely loudly.

"I.." I say quietly, clenching my fists. No one hears me.

'I have to do this... I've already...'

I unclench my fists.

Shatter.

3rd Person POV

Through all the bickering, the men, and the woman, didn't hear the chuckling coming from the girl in the black cloak. Soon, the chuckle rips through her throat, making everyone stop listening to the two hotheads argue, and instead, focus in on her form.

Her body roars with a laughter, so evil sounding it could make grown men cry. Hell, it even frightened the 6"4 shark man. All of their eyes widen, seeing the girl's body tremble with her evil chuckles. Her shoulders don't stop shaking, and everyone gets a confused look in their eyes.

She slowly removes her hood, her face still locked on the ground.

Her head rises slowly, to meet the gaze of everyone around her.

Everyone holds in their gasp.

The eyes that were once full of happiness around them... disappeared. Sure, during the beginning of Team 7, she was cold around them, but Kakashi could still distinguish some type of emotion, even if it was hatred or annoyance. But the girl in front of them all...

She wasn't alive.

There was just, nothing in her big ruby eyes. The light that once made her eyes shine, even if just the slightest bit, was gone. It wasn't like her eyes were filled with evil, there wasn't one hint of emotion in them. No happiness, sadness, hate... just, nothing.

Not even the S-Ranked criminals had seen something as frightening as that.

A human becoming inhuman.

There was always one thing that kept a person human. You could even go as far to call it an anchor for your humanity. Memories. If you still held on to some type of memory, a teddy bear, a dream, a blade, anything, you were human. You could understand other human emotions, even if you denied it, and hid it in the unconcious part of your brain, locking it away. You still were connected to others, through a silent wave of emotion.

But throwing away every pinch of your humanity... That is how monsters are made.

Not even in the worst of situations did the Akatsuki see their victims lose everything. Whether it be pain, hope, the ones they attacked never lost their humanity.

Nobody in the Akatsuki, not even the lab experiment Zetsu, had lost their humanity. Every single last one of them, no matter how empty their eyes seem to the outside world, they have something.

Itachi has a dream to live a stable life with his brother.

Pein and Konan have a goal to prove what real pain is.

Hidan has a hobby of sacrificing things to his god.

There isn't one person in the Akatsuki without a purpose in life.

Even Kakashi, the man who had a friend sacrifice their life for him, the man who killed his own teammate, had a purpose.

And to these humans, seeing something so inhuman, so empty, chilled them to the very marrow of their bones.

The evil chuckle faded away, and the girl started to speak.

"You are all..." She says, her voice mimicking her eyes, making goosebumps arise over everyone. "Useless."

Everyones eyes widens as a black chakra starts to cloak the girl, floating around her, making her hair get wildly whipped around. She closes her eyes for a moment, concentrating, and lowers her head to face the ground.

The chakra that was leaking out of her body, it was vile. It was corrupt. It was appalling.

Not even Orochimaru could stand to be anywhere near chakra so disturbing. The S-Ranked criminals' eyes widened at it, as did Kakashi and Guy's. Sakura started to throw up, and Neji had to switch his Byakugan off. Akamaru was trembling so hard Kiba's whole frame shook.

Her head suddenly rised to meet the eyes of everyone around her, the black chakra quickly surging out of her. Her eyes open for a moment, everything inside of them white. Everyone in the area widens their eyes, and a huge white light surrounds the area, follwed by a large explosion.

(time skip)

Kaji's POV

My heavy breathing is the only thing anyone can hear as I lie panting on the ground. I use my hands to try and hold my body up, but it's no use. I fall back to the ground, my body begging for medical attention.

'I guess I havenn't perfected it after all, huh? I guess it was to be expected, I only practiced on animals... And even then, it left me panting.' I think sadly.

I take a few deep breaths, pushing myself to stand up, though I wobble as I do.

I look around, my neck and body aching as I do so, seeing everybody passed out. I sigh sadly, seeing their forms do nothing but breathe. I used a jutsu that I have been developing for a while, though I definately haven't perfected it yet. Potentially, it has the power to make everybody in Konoha pass out, but it takes an extreme amount of chakra and concentration. Previously, I wasn't focused enough to determine Orochimaru's heartbeat in the arena full of people.

Hell, I'd say I'm still not close to perfecting my Teishi-tai. Plus, now that I have a Sharingan, it has become much harder to control.

I finally stop shaking like a wet dog, and look at all of my friends, who are on the ground.

I sigh heavily, breathing in deeply and letting the breath out slowly. I grab a few seals, placing them on Hidan, Kisame, and Itachi. I walk over to the group from Konoha, placing seals on all of them too.

I walk over to Itachi, seeing him sleep, noticing how every once in a while his eyes would flutter. I notice how long his lashes are, and how pale his skin is. I run my hand along his cheek, my eyes too dry to start crying again. I lean down and tenderly press my lips to his, all but for a moment, and then separating us.

I let out a sad sigh as I rise to my feet again, my knees starting to shake. I focus the little amount of chakra I have left, not wanting to undo the barrier in my mind to use Minoru's. My hands clasp together shakily, and I focus all but a small amount of chakra into it.

I hear eight poofs, and I open my eyes, falling to one knee.

'Everybody is back where they should be.'

I look blankly ahead, forcing my body to get up once more, ignoring the surges of pain.

I make sure the clip that surrounds my stomach is snug, and I pull the hood over my head.

Narrator POV

Kaji limped through the mountains, nothing but a blank stare on her pale face. Her ruby red eyes showed nothing, and her hair was a matted, tangled mess.

And now, you ask, where was she going? Where could this broken, scarred girl possibly go now?

Well, to answer that question dear reader, she didn't know. She didn't have a home. She didn't have friends.

And like that, it was official.

She was lost.
