[1: One Shots]
19:40, 27 August 2020Olivia let out a sigh as she carried grocery bags into the kitchen. After the day she had, she had been hoping her husband would have met her outside to help. But once again, Elliot would rather ignore her instead of helping her.
"El!" Olivia called after her third trip from her car to the kitchen. Olivia frowned when she didn't hear her husband moving upstairs, so she headed up the stairs and towards the closed bedroom door. Olivia was just about to turn the knob when she heard moaning from inside.
Olivia fought off tears as she reached up and ran her fingers over her necklace. She didn't want to believe that Elliot was cheating on her, but she didn't know what else he'd be doing in the bedroom.
Olivia took a slow breath as she turned the knob slowly before shoving it open quickly.
"Baby, you are amazing." Elliot spoke, breathlessly. He wrapped his arms around the blonde before they shared several kisses.
"I love you."
"I'm glad you love him, but he's my husband." Olivia huffed from where she stood in the open doorway. Elliot quickly lifted his head and looked at his wife with wide eyes.
"Olivia."
"I'm going to put away groceries. I think that we have a few things to talk about." Olivia frowned. She leaned down and grabbed a pile of clothes before tossing them at the bed.
"Liv!" Elliot yelled, and Olivia just shook her head as she closed the door tightly.
She didn't want to talk about her marriage while her husband was still in bed with the woman he seemed to actually love.
///
It took Elliot and his girlfriend nearly an hour to come downstairs. Olivia had put all of the groceries away and had settled down on the sofa with a bottle of wine on the coffee table and a glass of wine in her hand.
"Uh..." Elliot trailed off slowly, as he looked at Olivia.
"My gun is in the safe. I'm not going to shoot her. But don't put anything past me. Get her out." Olivia sighed, before leaning forward and grabbing the bottle and refilling her glass.
Elliot took the blonde to the door before gently resting his hand against her waist.
"I'll call you later." He whispered, before kissing her softly. Olivia rolled her eyes as she leaned back again.
"I want you to tell me what we are going to do. Because I would rather not be married to someone who isn't even interested in me anymore." Olivia sighed.
"Olivia, it's not that I'm not interested-"
"Are you just too tired from having sex with your blonde bimbo?" Olivia said, as she sniffled and pushed her lower lip out.
"You are drunk. Let's talk about this tomorrow." Elliot sighed, as he ran his hand over the back of his neck.
"We have been married for two years, El. At the start, we were okay. By the time we were six months in, everything went down hill. How long have you been seeing her?" Olivia sighed, as she reached for the bottle again. Elliot stopped her before sighing because the bottle was already almost empty.
"I'll go make you something to eat. You need to have something in your stomach to soak up all of this wine."
"Nope. I think that I need more wine. Pass me the bottle."
///
Olivia was feeling like shit the next morning, but no matter how bad her headache was, she still remembered what she had seen. She had seen her husband sleeping with another woman in her bed.
"I want a divorce." Elliot spoke, as Olivia sat up on the sofa where she had passed out the night before.
"I'm not surprised." Olivia sighed, as she rubbed her eyes.
"I love Abbie. There just isn't anything between us anymore. I don't think that there had been anything between us from the start." Elliot spoke. Olivia looked around before sighing when she saw her suitcases by the front door along with a few boxes and a laundry basket full of items that wouldn't fit in the boxes.
"So you are kicking me out." Olivia frowned.
"Abbie and I want kids. We want to fill this house up with kids. We can be happy here. And you don't need a house this big for it only being you." Elliot spoke. Olivia laughed bitterly as she pushed herself up before sighing.
"I wanted kids too, El. You just kept saying you weren't ready."
"I wasn't ready to have kids with you. And I'm glad we never dragged some innoccent kid into a loveless marriage."
"You are such a piece of shit." Olivia mumbled, before going over and starting to grab things. She took several trips out to her car before looking at Elliot.
"I hate your guts." Olivia smiled.
"Liv-"
"Don't try to make yourself feel better for what you did. If you get the house, I get the squad. Find another place to work."
///
Olivia knew that she didn't need Elliot. If he didn't want to be with her, then she didn't want to be with him either. They hadn't even touched each other in a month by the time Olivia moved out, and Olivia had prayed that she wouldn't have even slept with him then.
"You were quiet during dinner." Alex spoke, as she walked into Olivia's room. Olivia was now Alex's roommate, and Olivia did find it a lot more fun to live with her friend instead of Elliot.
"I was trying not to throwup." Olivia replied softly.
"Huh?" Alex asked.
"I was trying not to get sick the whole time. I'm... I'm pregnant." Olivia spoke nervously.
"Wow... uh, who's the father?"
"The asshole that I just got divorced from." Olivia laughed, even though she wanted to cry like a baby. She just thought like Elliot was still tourturing her, even if they were no longer married and was living with Abbie in the house they had bought together.
"Oh, Liv."
"Nope... please don't comfort me. I will actually lose it if you try and comfort me. So why don't we just leave this be and I'll figure something out."
///
For two years Olivia had wanted to start a family with Elliot. But then she had to find out she was pregnant after she and Elliot got divorced. She didn't know if Elliot would want anything to do with the baby, and that kinda scared her. She knew that she was strong and had so many friends around her to help, but it still freaked her out knowing that her baby may not have a father because he picked Abbie over her many, many months ago.
"How are you doing, Olivia?" Dr. Leigh asked, as she came into the exam room that Olivia had been waiting in.
"I've been better." Olivia whispered.
"How are you feeling? Still having morning sickness and a little bit of cramping?" The doctor asked, and Olivia nodded slowly.
"Yes, ma'am."
"We will try to detect the baby's heartbeat to day. If we can find it, then hopefully everything will continue to move forward and you will have a healthy pregnancy." Dr. Leigh smiled.
Olivia had her normal tests ran before she laid back and rolled her shirt up. She had started to show a little bit, and that made her nervous. She was getting used to being pregnant, and she didn't want to lose her child.
"Do you hear that, Olivia?" Dr. Leigh questioned, as she held the wand to Olivia's stomach.
"Huh?" Olivia questioned quietly.
"That thumping... let me turn the sound up a bit."
Once the sound was turned up, Olivia started to sob as she heard her baby's heartbeat for the first time. Her child was alive and growing, and that's all she wanted. She wanted a healthy baby to love and take care of, because she didn't have Elliot anymore.
///
Olivia left her appointment and headed back to the apartment she was sharing with Alex. As soon as the door opened, Alex was standing there and waiting to hear about Olivia's appointment. She was invested in her friend's pregnancy, and couldn't wait to be an aunt to Olivia's little one.
"So, how did it go?" Alex asked, and Olivia smiled tiredly as she shut the door.
"The baby has a strong heartbeat... everything is looking good."
"Oh, thank god. Were you crying?" Alex asked, as she noticed some mascara under Olivia's eyes.
"I was... but it was because I was so excited to hear my baby's heartbeat. Alex, this is what I have wanted for as far back as I can remember. I've always wanted to be a mother, and now I get to be... I just wish that I was going through this experience with Elliot." Olivia sighed. She tossed her keys into the bowl by the door before walking over to the sofa and sinking down.
"He doesn't deserve to love this baby. After what he did to you... he can be with Abbie and do what he wants with her. He shouldn't even have rights to this kid after leaving you and taking everything from you." Alex spoke. Olivia nodded slowly before frowning deeply.
"Do you want to be my baby's father?" Olivia grinned, and Alex chuckled as she wrapped her arm around Olivia's shoulder and tugged her close.
"It will be my honor to be your child's father." Alex smiled. They embraced for a moment before Alex's phone rang.
"I'm assuming that is Cragen saying that you guys have a case. You should probably go grab your gun."
///
Over the next few months, everyone looked out for Olivia and the baby. Olivia was put on desk duty, but the crew included her in everything still. She was allowed to interrogate suspects and she made runs to the ME's office. And as Olivia grew more and more used to being a desk warmer, she got more and more used to being pregnant and actually enjoying it. She liked feeling a few small flutters from her baby, and she liked noticing as the flutters turned into kicks and punches.
"You really didn't have to come with me, Alex. They are just going to see if the baby is a boy or girl and then send me on my way." Olivia spoke, as she looked at her best friend.
"Hey, this is my niece or nephew we are talking about. I want to be here today and I will be there to hold your hand when the baby is born." Alex smiled. Olivia fought off tears as she looked back down at her magazine.
"Oh shit." Alex spoke after several moments of silence. Olivia looked over at her friend and sighed softly as she looked at her.
"What?"
"Uh, don't look over at the sign in desk..."
"Why not?" Olivia asked, as she went to turn her head, but Alex smacked her arm and stopped her.
"Don't. Why would you look after I told you not to?" Alex grumbled.
"Why can't I look?" Olivia sighed.
"Because Elliot and Abbie are here." Alex whispered. Olivia's eyes went wide as she quickly shoved her hands in her sweatshirt to hopefully prevent Elliot from noticing how big Olivia's stomach had gotten.
"He doesn't need my baby... he's getting one of us own with Abbie." Olivia frowned, as she looked down.
"Liv, I hate to say this... but she looks just as big as you."
"So we probably got pregnant on the same day knowing how much of a man whore Elliot is." Olivia frowned.
"Olivia Benson?" A nurse asked, and Olivia stood quickly and she glanced over to look at Elliot. He didn't even take his eyes off of Abbie, and Olivia was thankful for that.
He didn't deserve to know that he'd be a father of two in twenty weeks.
///
Alex went to get the car from the parking tower, and Olivia waited outside of her doctor's office as she looked at the sonogram picture showing off the fact she was going to have a son.
"Olivia." Elliot spoke, and Olivia felt sick to her stomach as soon as she heard Elliot's voice.
"I don't want you this close to me. Please step back." Olivia spoke, as she tucked the sonogram picture into her purse.
"Are you pregnant?" Elliot asked quietly.
"Does it matter to you? You don't want anything to do with me, and you made that clear when you kicked me out of the house we bought together." Olivia sighed.
"Are you or not?" Elliot growled, and Olivia turned around and smiled at him.
"I'm happy, Elliot. I'm happy without being with you and I know that you hate that. So yes, I'm pregnant. And I saw that your... whatever the fuck she is... is pregnant too. So just forget about me and this baby and focus on the other one. We all know that you'd never be able to love this baby as much as you will love the baby Abbie is currently carrying."
///
Olivia stood back and looked at the corner of her room that had been transformed into a very tiny nursery like space. She couldn't help but smile as she thought about bringing her son home soon.
"Hey, are you doing okay in here?" Alex asked, as she walked into Olivia's room and smiled at her.
"I think that his space is done. Eventually I'll have to move out so he can have his own room, but until then this is going to do." Olivia spoke. She walked over to Alex and took the laundry basket from her, before pouring the clean clothes onto her bed and starting to fold them.
"I think that we should look into another place together. After living with you for the past nine months, I don't think that I want to live without you two." Alex smiled.
"You are the best friend that I have ever had, Alex. I'm so thankful for you." Olivia breathed, before dropping her eyes as she focused on the clothes piled in front of her.
After they finished with the laundry, Alex had to head out because the crew caught a case. Olivia was on leave, so she didn't have to pack up and head out too. But she wished that she had a place to go, so she wasn't home for the vistor to show up.
"Yes?" Olivia asked, as she opened the door slowly.
"Wow." Elliot's voice spoke, as he looked his ex wife over. Even if he had been told to stay away, he didn't want to stay away.
"What are you doing here?" Olivia sighed, as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Liv, my kids need to be together. They need to grow up knowing each other. So, I'd like to raise that baby with Abbie and my's daughter." Elliot spoke.
Olivia looked at him with wide eyes as she thought about what to say. She couldn't believe how absolutely fucking dumb Elliot sounded. How he thought he could continue to take everything from Olivia. But this was different. Olivia wasn't going to let Elliot just take her son. She was ready to fight for complete custody of her little boy.
"So can I have him?" Elliot asked, and Olivia finally let out a laugh as she shook her head.
"You have to be on some sort of drug right now. Do you honestly think that I will just hand over my child to you? Elliot, you have taken everything from me... but you will never take this baby from me. He's my son, and he's going to grow up only knowing me as his parent. He will be surrounded by his aunts and uncles, but never you. Stay away from us." Olivia spoke, before slamming the door in Elliot's face.
She locked the door quickly before sighing softly as she ran her hand over her stomach.
"I'm sorry, baby. But you are going to be better off without a father."
///
"I don't think that I have ever been this exhausted before." Olivia yawned, as she laid in her hospital bed with her little boy snuggled tightly against her chest.
"Just wait until we take that baby home." Alex spoke, and Olivia nodded as she rested her cheek against her son's head.
"Alex, I want to tell you right now that you don't have to help with him at all. You can cuddle him and stuff, but I can do all the hard stuff. I don't want your life to be changed just because there is going to be a baby in the apartment now." Olivia spoke softly.
She was happy, but she also felt bad because now Alex's life was going to change just as much as her life changed as soon as the test came back positive.
"Olivia, I signed up to be this boy's aunt. No matter how little sleep I get or how many dirty diapers I need to help change, I'm fine with that. He doesn't have a dad and you don't have a husband, so someone needs to be your backup." Alex smiled.
"Do you want to hold him?" Olivia asked quietly. She had been holding onto her son since he was brought back after being cleaned up, and she didn't think she'd want to let him go. But right now, she knew that she had to let Alex hold him since she was going to help raise the little boy.
"I've been waiting to hold him since he was born." Alex chuckled.
They sat their in silence until Olivia finally told Alex what she had decided to name the baby.
"I still really like Cade." Olivia breathed.
"It was one of my favorites. Middle name?"
"I'm thinking Michael. Before Elliot and I got married, we talked about names for our future kids, but it just doesn't feel right to use any of those since he hurt me. So I just have to pull some random middle name out of thin air."
"It's a good name, Liv. Cade is extremely lucky to be your son."
"I'm the lucky one... I get to be his Mama."
///
Olivia sat in a wheelchair and looked at all the newborn babies. She watched as a nurse took care of Cade, and she smiled as the nurse brought him to the window just so Olivia could see him for the last time for a few hours.
"He's adorable." A voice spoke, and Olivia turned her head and swallowed hard as she saw Abbie beside her.
"T-thanks." Olivia breathed.
"What time was he born?" Abbie asked, and Olivia swallowed hard as she looked back into the nursery.
"Are you asking that to see if my son or your daughter is older?" Olivia whispered.
"Elliot is going to want to know." Abbie replied.
"He doesn't need to know. He's not raising him, so he doesn't need to know anything about him." Olivia sighed.
"I just don't understand why you want to keep that boy from his family."
"I'm his family, Abbie. I refuse to let Elliot take anything else from me." Olivia spoke quickly.
"If Elliot wants him, then Elliot will get him. You should know that by now." Abbie sighed, as she pointed into the room and at the cot next to Cade's.
"That's my daughter, and she will be raised with your son. Actually, my son. He will never see you after we get him."
