Chapter 1: We Are At War

21:10, 28 January 2023

The people around you can influence how you feel, what you do, and who you become; and in Katrina Hart's case, this was very much true. Maybe a bit too true. But that wasn't exactly her fault or her doing. It was in her DNA. Literally.

It wasn't that this wasn't true to some degree for many others, it's a common human trait that is entirely valid. But, when considering the special case of Katrina Hart, the chaos that inhabited the world could mess with her brain, influencing both her mental and physical state in a way like no other. Some may call that 'being an empath', or 'seeing things from the other person's point of view'. And, again, this a valid definition.

But can the typical person truly feel another person's emotions? Every single emotion coursing through them, every electrical and chemical signal sent to their brain.

Probably not.

That's what made Kat so different.

She was a mutant. In her eyes, it was equally a curse and a blessing. Despite how cliché that statement was to say, having grown up with these abilities, she understood the reality of the saying.

So, when the S.H.I.E.L.D's Pegasus Project facility was ordered evacuate immediately, and Kat was ordered to assist, to stand amidst the chaos, it took an extreme toll on her. A pounding headache began to form, making her head feel as if it would explode at any moment, but she straightened her spine and shoved the pain down in order to get the job done. Or else, people would die. No lie. No exaggeration.

This was, and had been, her job for all long as she could remember. For years, she had been trained in honing her abilities, so she be able to use her powers for the better. It wasn't an ideal childhood, but she loved her life. She was thankful to be taken in by Shield and have the opportunity to be a literal superhero, but, when a situation arises where drastic measures are needed, it was honestly terrifying. She was a kid, in essence, but never truly. You learn to grow up at a much faster rate when Nick Fury is your boss, and you have to watch over a glowing, electric blue cube that could open up a doorway to another planet. Clearly, messing around is not in the question. And, when said cube starts "misbehaving", messing around is not even within the ballpark.

That's why she and her fellow agent, Phil Coulson, waited at the helipad for their director to evaluate the situation due to its escalation. In her opinion, with the current energy spikes that she could feel flow through her body every minute or so, things were taking a turn for the worse.

The gusts of wind were all that could be heard other than the announcement over the intercom that replayed on loop, "All personnel, evacuation order has been confirmed. Proceed to your designated vehicle for all campus evacuation. This is not a drill. Emergency personnel proceed to your designated vehicles for all campus evacuation."

Her eyes stung from the cold air and bright spotlights that lit up the campus and sent a chill down her spine. Goosebumps covered every inch of her skin underneath her fitted, black long-sleeve shirt and cargo pants. Over the commotion, she could hear the familiar beat of the helicopter coming over the deserted mountain range. Her fingers curled and flexed nervously as she stood at attention, awaiting her boss and his second in command, Maria Hill's arrival.

Soon, the helicopter gracefully landed, and Maria Hill, a tall woman clad in a navy cat-suit with her shoulder length dark blonde hair held back in a tight bun, and Nick Fury, a stoic dark-skinned man in all black clothing and an eye-patch covering his left eye, approached the two agents. And although Kat had known them for years, they still made her a bit anxious, especially Director Fury. Agent Hill had been there for most of the young girl's training, so the two had become good friends, which made her a little less intimidating, not by much though.

Kat sent them both a nod, and a small smile to the woman, "Director Fury, Agent Hill."

"Agent Hart." Hill greets, thankfully returning the girl's slight smile.

Director Fury on the other hand cut right to the chase. "How bad is it?"

"That's the problem, sir." Coulson responds, finally speaking up, "We don't know."

~

As the four stepped out of the elevator to the facility's lower level, closer to the NASA lab, Coulson continued to brief his superiors on the current situation.

"Doctor Selvig read an energy surge from the Tesseract four hours ago."

"NASA didn't authorize Selvig to go to Test B." Fury states as they pushed further down the corridor. Occasionally other agents would run past, their arms filled with heavy bins, ready to be taken to another facility. Their fear seeped into Katrina's skin, causing her to occasionally lose focus, but she would slightly shake her head, fighting to keep herself alert.

In attempt to keep it that way, as well as noticing Fury's agitation with the unauthorized test, she decided to interject. "He wasn't testing it. He wasn't even in the room. Spontaneous event."

"It just turned itself on?" Hill asked from her right side, curious as to how the glowing cube, otherwise known as the Tesseract, activated itself.

"Where are the energy levels now?" The director inquired.

"Climbing. When Selvig couldn't shut it down, we ordered evac." Coulson answered.

"How long to get everyone out?"

"Campus should be clear in the next half-hour."

"Do better."

Coulson then turned on his heel, not hesitating to head back in the direction they had come from, sure of his orders. Kat, on the other hand, not so much. She wasn't sure if Fury wanted her to help with the evac order or follow him, but it seemed that he read her mind. "Hart, you're with me. If this thing goes off the rails, we'll need your 'expertise'."

The tension in her muscles visibly faded from hearing her orders. She had always preferred having direction and orders, knowing exactly what she needed to do so she could get it done as quickly and efficiently as possible. She would be lost without it.

She nods, "Yes, Sir."

They continued their march down to the Project Pegasus lab where the Tesseract was housed as Agent Hill interrupts the silence. "Sir, evacuation may be futile."

"We should tell them to go back to sleep?" Fury wonders, surprised at her suggestion.

"If we can't control the Tesseract's energy, there may not be minimum safe distance."

"With all due respect, that may be true, but should we really risk the hundreds of lives on this base based on an assumption?" Kat asks, secretly appalled at the thought of not even trying to get her fellow agents to safety.

"I need you to make sure the Phase 2 prototypes are shipped out." Director Fury orders Hill, changing the subject and completely dismissing her question.

"Sir, is that really a priority right now?" She questions, making her boss halt and turn to face her with a stern expression plastered on his face, one that had scared Kat since her first day of training.

"Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on. Clear out the tech below. Every piece of Phase 2 on a truck and gone."

"Yes, Sir." She replies and walks off with two other nearby agents following in suit.

Fury's heavy military boots echo off the metal stairs to the lab as he called over his shoulder, "Hart, with me."

"Yes, Sir." Kat responds, jogging up the stairs after him.

As the pair approached the lab, the energy surges got stronger with each wave, repeatedly hitting her in the chest like a ton of bricks. It was stronger than anything she had ever come in contact with, and her body absorbed it like a sponge. As the energy stored in her body, adrenaline filling every limb and her entire body vibrating. Her fingertips felt as though they could shoot lightning bolts out of them. It made her realize just how powerful the Tesseract truly was.

~

As Director Fury and Kat enter the lab, he called out the head scientist, Eric Selvig.

"Talk to me, Doctor."

"Director." The Doctor greeted, meeting them halfway as they approached the Tesseract's housing unit.

"Is there anything we know for certain?" Fury asked.

Sighing, the Doctor replied, "The Tesseract is misbehaving."

"Is that supposed to be funny?" Fury wondered, obviously not appreciating the term.

"No, it's not funny at all. The Tesseract in not only active, she's misbehaving."

"How soon can you pull the plug?"

Selvig's eyebrows furrow, "She's an energy source. We turn off the power, she turns it back on. If she reaches peak level—"

"We prepared for this, Doctor. Harnessing energy from space." Fury interrupted, gazing over the smoking cube.

"We don't have the harness. My calculations are far from complete. She's throwing off interference, radiation. Nothing harmful, low levels of Gamma radiation."

"That can be harmful." The director stated, shocked at Selvig's casual tone. As if Gamma radiation was nothing. It wouldn't be too big of an issue for Kat, her body could handle that energy, not so much everyone else.

"Maybe for you... I'll probably be fine." She muttered under her breath, but apparently Fury had heard her because he sent her a hard 'disapproving Dad' glare, immediately causing her to flinch and shut her mouth.

He quickly recovered, getting right back on track, asking, "Where's Agent Barton?"

The young agent did a mental scan of the room for the familiar energy signature, immediately sensing him above her. She glanced up to see her best friend up on a high catwalk, observing the hectic scene.

She could hear Selvig reply, "The Hawk? Up in his nest."

"As usual." Kat muttered, chuckling slightly.

"Get him down here." Fury commanded before following after Doctor Selvig.

Kat remained in her spot, holding down the call button on her coms. "Barton, report. Fury wants you. You're in trouble." She teased, a small smirk on her lip.

She could practically hear his eyes rolling in his head, though she could hear a small snicker through her earpiece. There was flash of movement in her eyesight as Agent Clint Barton expertly repelled down to where she was currently waiting.

"You know one of these days, Fury's going to hear you, Kat. Then, you're going to be the one in trouble." He whispered, nudging her side as they walked to meet with the director.

She only waves him off, arguing, "When does Fury not know everything that's going on in this place? He probably already knows. And besides, it's fun. I'll risk it."

He rolled his eyes, knowing that she wouldn't quit. Clint had become like an older brother to her over the years and they both knew each other inside and out. He taught her everything she knew and was the one to take her under his wing along with Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. the Black Widow, when she was recruited. Even though it was a tough job, they had given her a childhood, or as much of one as she could get in her situation. The two adults had been the ones to sneak ice cream into her room in headquarters after a bad training day and bandaged up both her injuries and hands for sparring. They were her family.

As Fury falls in step with the two, their faces both return to their stoic expressions. Though Kat's reaction was more rooted in fear, Clint's was more of out of respect for the one-eyed man.

"I gave you this detail so you could keep a close eye on things." Fury states sternly, making the young girl unconsciously flinch.

"I see better from a distance." Clint argues.

"Have you seen anything that might set this thing off?"

From behind her, Kat could hear one of the scientists from NASA call for Doctor Selvig, the panic obvious in their voice. "Doctor! It's spiking again!"

The doctors continued to converse quietly as Fury, Clint, and Kat step onto the platform next to the Tesseract. Steam surrounded the cube with small electric blue wisps engulfing it, fluttering in the air like small, blue flames.

Clint then explains, his gaze switching between Fury and Kat, "No one's come and gone. And Selvig's clean. No contacts, no IM. If there's any tampering, Sir, it wasn't at this end."

"At this end?" Fury inquired, confused by the matter.

"Yeah. The Cub is a doorway to the other end of space, right?" Clint replies.

"Doors open from both sides." Kat finishes, understanding what her friend was getting at. Her gaze was locked on the Tesseract as she felt a strong pull from it. As if in a trance, mesmerized by the glow, her hand lifts, and hovers over the Tesseract. The wisps entangled with her fingers, wrapping around them like translucent jewelry. It was as odd sensation, though it didn't hurt. She had watched many others deal with the cube would wear gloves or use equipment to move it; yet, when she touched it, it was merely cold. Slowly but surely her hand numbed as if it had been stuck in a freezer. The wisps then seeped through skin causing ice blue streaks to appear, her irises flooding with the same color before returning to their normal honey brown shade.

Suddenly, her heart jolted, feeling a surge of power flow through her body. Her eyebrows scrunched together in confusion at the peculiar feeling as her eyes burned, lighting up with different shades of all of colors of the rainbow. The cube then flickers, glowing brighter and brighter, causing the young agent to step back as a precaution.

"Kat?" She heard Clint cautiously ask.

"I didn't do it." The girl rushed out, raising her hands slightly in surrender, "But, you might want to step back."

"What's that?" Selvig asked, but his question went unanswered when the Tesseract began sparking more and more.

The entire building started to shake and tremble, cracking the concrete room and entire campus. The Director, Clint, and Kat backed away slowly from the haywire machine, caution of the situation.

Out of the blue, a blast emitted from the cube, a wave of force hitting all of them in the chest. A bright beam shot across to the far side of the room, opening a portal. The doorway started to spread, expanding until it was almost as big as the room. And for a millisecond, there was nothing but complete silence, as if the world froze in anticipation. Until, abruptly, an explosion sent an enormous wave energy hurtling toward them.

Kat quickly crossed her arms in an 'x' infront of her chest with her hands balled up in fists and broke it with herpalms facing out in front of her, creating a transparent wall. Her eyesnarrowed in concentration, attempting to keep the shimmering, shield thatprotected everyone behind her stable.

As the threat continues to fire at the other personnel, the mutant then gathers the energy from her shield into an orb in her hands, sending it hurtling towards the man. It hits him in the chest, knocking him back a couple steps. He glares at her, though it almost seems like he was amused; but the moment doesn't last long before he returns the attack.

She blocks the beam, but it slowly burns through her defense, making her push harder as she leans into the translucent wall protecting her. Her powers kicked into fighting mode, as her eyes transformed form their normal honey brown into a rainbow, the glow growing more intense by the second.

It wasn't long before she could feel the wall begin to disintegrate but before the blast could hit her, she turns, dodging the blow. Seeing her opportunity to get closer, Kat rushes the stranger, ignoring Clint's calls for her to back off, punching the threat multiple times square in the jaw, her powers only adding to her strength. Though, he recovered and blocked her attack and managed to grab her by the throat lifting her up off the ground, the knife-like point of his spear resting tauntingly above the center of her chest.

Behind her, she could hear the familiar click of all the guns in the room get their safety flicked off, but none fired. "Wait! Hold your fire!" Clint boomed, holding his hands up to signal to the rest of the agents not to shoot. Despite the fact that all of the agents in that room were expert marksmen, he wasn't going to risk them shooting Kat.

Noticing this, the man's ever-present smirk grew even more menacing as he stared her in the eye, knowing she was leverage he could use. "So much fire...so much power just waiting to be unlocked. And for someone so young. That'll be very helpful to me in the future..." He trailed off, finally resting the tip of the glowing scepter onto her skin, allowing some sort of energy matching that of the Tesseract to be absorbed into her body. He watched as the icy streaks flowed through her veins before making its way to her eyes.

For a split second her eyes went completely black and left her with the icy hue in her irises, her body tensing as a gasp escaped her lips. Though it didn't last long because not even a second later, the blue dissipated, and they returned to their normal color.

The confusion was written all over the man's face when his attempt failed. Kat could tell without a doubt that he was thrown off, but she could feel all the energy that it had given her buzzing around in her body, only adding to her already heightened adrenaline levels. Smirking, she mutters in a shaking voice due to her slight lack of oxygen, "Thanks for the boost."

Before he could react, she brought her feet up and planted them onto his chest and pushed off, her body flying backwards head-first. She then flung her hands back over her head, letting them land and bringing her legs back down. Spinning around, she swiftly brought her one leg back up to the side of his head, then the other to the scepter, both even more powerful due to the 'boost'. It hadn't done much, mostly just stunned him, but it had created some distance between them.

And that was all Clint needed to give the 'go' for the rest of the agents to fire on the raven-haired man. Though, it quickly became evident that bullets weren't going to do any damage. They only bounced off, some sending sparks flying through the air. The man's confused expression had now turned to anger, annoyance, and frustration. While some stood there in awe and shock, the man seized the opportunity to fire back. This time straight for Fury, but it never hit its target.

Seeing the attempt and where it was aimed, Kat hastily jumped in front of the beam, the enormous blast of energy hit her entire body, sending her flying backwards. She could hear Clint yell her name as she hits the ground. A yelp of pain escapes her lips as she rolled across the floor. The rainbow in her eyes fading back to their normal hue.

As quietly as possible, Kat crawled across the floor between two other stacks of bins to hide. She groaned, clutching at her now bruised ribs. Sticky blood dripped down her forehead and into her eyes. She wipes at it only to smear it across her face. It didn't concern her much, seeing as it wouldn't be problem for long, she could already feel herself healing.

Gazing over the bin she was hidden behind, she could see Clint pull himself up off the floor and attempt to shoot, but the dark-haired man effortlessly catches his arm, twisting it. The archer groans as the man speaks, his voice cold and smooth as ice. "You have heart."

He then touches the tip of his spear to Clint's chest, this time even more determined to make it work, allowing the ice blue wisps to travel from the tip into Clint's body. She could see it flowing through his veins and up the side of his face, before his normally light blue eyes were shrouded by blackness and replaced with the dreaded electric blue hue, and this time it didn't fade. She had a feeling her best friend was no longer present as he calmly returned his gun to its holster and stood at the ready.

Kat's jaw clenched in anger, slightly twitching, and inching forward to pounce, but there was a burning sensation on the side of her head, feeling someone's gaze on her. She looked over to meet the stern glare from Nick Fury, commanding her to stay hidden. Knowing her orders, she nodded, making sure to keep out of sight.

As the enemy turned another frightened agent into one of his soldiers, the Director carefully pulls the Tesseract from its mount in the machine, transferring it to a briefcase. She could hear him hiss as the icy heat burned through his leather gloves before turning on his heel to leave.

The man, noticing Fury's attempt to escape, called over his shoulder, "Please don't...I still need that."

"This doesn't have to get any messier."

"Of course it does. I've come too far for anything else. I am Loki of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose."

Doctor Selvig, who had been previously attending to the injured, speaks, "Loki, brother of Thor?"

Kat's face scrunches in confusion as she remembered the files she had read about Thor, his brother Loki, and their world of Asgard. They seemed peaceful when Thor crash landed on Earth, though Loki obviously didn't seem like the peaceful type.

"We have no quarrel with your people." Fury interrupts, trying to get the conversation back on track, keeping track of the worsening state of the cloud above us.

"An ant has no quarrel with a boot." The man, Loki, reasons.

"You planning to step on us?" Fury inquires attempting to stall the god in front of him.

"I come with glad tidings, of a world made free."

"Free from what?"

"Freedom. Freedom is life's great lie. Once you accept that in your heart..." Loki exclaims, abruptly pivoting to face Dr. Selvig who had slowly inched his way forward. Trails of blue lace themselves around Loki's scepter once again, traveling into the point that had been gently placed on his chest, taking over Selvig's mind, "you will know peace."

"Yeah, you say peace. I kind of think you mean the other thing." Fury snaps as Clint, calmly strides over to his new 'boss'.

"Sir, Director Fury is stalling. This place is about to blow and drop a hundred feet of rock on us. He means to bury us."

"Like the pharaohs of old." Fury interjects.

Dr. Selvig frantically dart over to a monitor, examining the data on the display. "He's right. The portal is collapsing in on itself. We've got maybe two minutes before this goes critical."

"Well then..." Loki starts, though Clint finishes for him, pulling his gun from its holster, expertly aiming it, and squeezed the trigger. The single bullet emptied from the chamber hits Fury in the chest, knocking him onto his back. A small gasp escapes the girl's lips as her shock quickly turns into anger. Her eyes, once again, turn into the replica of the color wheel, a pulsating light emitting from both her eyes and her hands.

Kat watched as the enemy group walked past the injured Nick Fury, snatching up the briefcase as they left. Once they had left the room, she slowly crept out of my hiding place, darting over to her injured boss.

"Sir, are you alright?" She asked, helping him up.

"Hart, go get the Cube. They cannot leave this base." He orders.

"But sir, you're hurt—"

"Hart! That is an order! Go. Get. That. Cube."

"Yes, sir." The young agent replies, anger beginning to course through her blood. This 'god' just walks in, brain-washing her best friend, and gets her boss shot. She was not going down without a fight.

~

Kat sprints through the maze of tunnels; her combat boots thudding against the floor, echoing off the cement walls. Suddenly, her coms system crackles to life.

"Hill! Do you copy?" Fury grunts, "Barton...has turned."

The sound of gun shots reverberates through the halls; her muscles pushing harder and faster as she struggles to keep her breathing steady.

Finally, she reached the loading dock and sees Hill crouched behind a wall, gun at the ready. Bullets ricocheted off the walls sending sparks flying. Gathering speed, she slides on her knees across the floor, forming a forcefield to protect both her and Hill. The bullets then bounced off creating multi-hued sparks, giving Hill the opportunity to advance forward.

As the enemy fire lightens, Kat forces the shield to retract into an orb and sending it hurtling at the vehicle that the enemy had just hijacked. The orb hits the side of the vehicle, causing it to rattle and swerve, though it doesn't stop. Kat's eyes meet Clint's ice-blue ones as he drives away, her jaw clenched again as his dead eyes turn back to the road.

Fury's voice crackles through her earpieces once again, his breathing heavy and staggering as he ran. "Get the Tesseract. Shut them down."

Hill and Kat leap into the front seats of a Shield jeep and the older agent shifts into reverse, pulling out into the dim tunnel after the hijacked vehicle.

Out of the blue, she takes a sharp left turn down another tunnel almost identical to the previous one. It was a miracle that they didn't get lost, Kat thought, as Maria effortlessly navigated through the maze of tunnels.

"What are you doing?" Kat asked, her breathing shaky from all of the adrenaline.

"Cutting them off." She quickly replies.

After a few more various turns, they swerved in front of the rogue vehicle. Hill pulled the parking brake causing the jeep to drift around to face the enemy. Shifting gears one last time, she began driving in reverse, the hoods of the jeeps warring with each other.

Kat met Clint's gaze, trying to find a sliver of him left, but she knew the true owner of that body was nowhere to be found. That was what scared her the most. The real fact that her best friend, her brother, was staring her right in the eye, and yet he wasn't.

Stuck in her own thoughts, she didn't realize that he had aimed the barrel of his gun right at her head. A kill shot. She tensed up as he placed his index finger on the trigger. A gasp escaped her lips, bringing her arms up to cover her face and squeezing her eyes shut, waiting for the fiery pain; but it never came. The only sound was multiple loud bangs and glass shattering. Tentatively, she peeled her eyelids back, seeing several small pieces of metal floating in mid-air, mere inches away from her forehead. Shoving them away, they fall out of the car window. The clicking of Clint's gun signaled that the gun was empty. This was her chance.

More determined now than ever, she climbed up to stand on her seat, torso steady in her stance. She then propped her right foot up on the dashboard, shoulder-blades glued to the back bar. The wind blows through her hair, stray hairs escaping from her already loose braided-bun and stinging her skin and eyes. Tears blurred her vision, but muscle memory kicked in.

Her hands remained steady as she aimed her hands at the hood of the other jeep. A familiar tug makes her tense as wisps of energy pull from the jeep and intertwine around her finger and the rogue jeep begins to shake and slow slightly, but not for long.

All of a sudden, the burning pain that she had anticipated before ripped through her right shin. She screamed in pain and clumsily fell back into her seat, gritting her teeth as she tried to avoid the spray of bullets between Clint and Maria.

Frustrated, she leans out of the passenger-side window to somehow jump onto the other jeep. She didn't exactly have a plan, but she was desperate to get the Cube back. Though before she could do anything too stupid, a yank on her waist pulls her back into her seat.

"What are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Hill screams, putting her right hand back on the wheel.

"No! I'm trying to get the Tesseract back! Fury's orders!" Kat shouts over all the commotion.

"You can't do that if you're dead!"

Suddenly, the other jeep swerves, knocking their vehicle off to the side. Loki's smirk taunts them as Maria shifts back into drive, speeding after them.

As they start to get close to the vehicle, a boulder dropped down onto the road, cutting them off. Kat's hands fly up to the safety handles as the jeep harshly brakes. She luckily didn't take too much of a blow, but Hill's head had hit the steering wheel...hard.

More and more rock crumbles down around them forcing Kat to create a wall above them, stopping any more rocks from falling on top of them. A force field was usually no hard task for her, but with the bruised ribs, loss of blood, and bullet wound in her shin, she could tell the wall was fragile as glass and getting weaker by the second.

Once the chaos had halted, she turned to a groaning Maria Hill. She gently grasped the side of her co-worker's head with one hand and traced along the cut on her forehead and bleeding nose with the other. Colorful threads stitch the skin together and heal it, no scar left behind. But before Katrina could check if the woman had a concussion, which was likely, Hill swats her hands away.

"I'm fine. You're in worse shape than I am." Hill says in a gently tone. Though Agent Hill was one of the toughest and most serious agents in Shield, the woman had watched the girl grow up and had a soft spot for her.

"I'm already healing. I'll be fine." Kat partially lied. She was healing, just not a quickly as she'd hoped. The scrapes and bruises wouldn't be a problem. They would heal in a matter of minutes. The shattered shin would be the issue. Still with a gaping hole in her skin bleeding heavily, the skin and blood-loss were a smidge less concerning; but her bone on the other hand had shattered completely. Kat could feel the bone fragments shifting with every move she made. It would take a day or two to completely heal, leaving her unable to walk for the time being.

Out of the blue, static erupted from both of their earpieces before a voice breaks through.

"Director? Director Fury, do you copy?" Phil Coulson asked.

After a moment of deafening silence and static, Fury's voice comes through.

"The Tesseract is with a hostile force. I have men down. Hill? Hart?"

"A lot of men still under. Hart is with me, shot to the leg. Don't know how many other survivors." Hill responds, climbing from the twisted remains of the jeep.

"Sound a general call. I want every living soul not working rescue looking for that briefcase." Fury demands.

Hill nods, though no one but the two of them could see. "Roger that."

"Coulson, get back to base." The Director orders, "This is a level seven. As of right now...We are at war."

Author's Note: Yay, the first chapter is finally published! From now on, each chapter will be published weekly, most likely on Friday or at least sometime on the weekends, but I just couldn't wait to get it started. Hope you like it so far (I know I've said that like 10 times already, but still) and please feel free to comment. I would love to know what you guys think. :)
