Chapter 8

I wake up to Luca turning off and on the lights.

"Time for breakfast come on." He says

I pull the blankets off me.

"Yeah ok. I'm up."

He leaves and I get ready for breakfast. Pulling my hair up into a bun, brushing my teeth and changing into some random clothes.

I go to breakfast Jacob is sitting there with some bacon and eggs smothered in red chile. I forgot the capital actually had chile.

I grab a plate of bacon and eggs and I poured some red chile on it. Jacob said, "It's not hot so don't expect to much of a kick."

I shrug and sit down and start eating my food. Luca sits next to me with his food.

"So your interviews are today, tomorrow will be a free day so you guys can do whatever you want. And after that the games."

I just nod.

"So for the free games what are we gonna do?" Jacob says

"Maybe we can watch the sunset again. Or we can practice the piano again. Or we can just hang out."

"That sounds like a good plan." Luca says calmly.

Everyone has finished eating but I want to stall getting ready as much as I can. Lucky for me Luca and Jacob start talking about strategies.

I zone it out until I hear my name.

"Aina, you have to gain pity. So don't cry because that is gonna be almost everyone. Just seem sad but say some smart stuff so no one underestimate you." Luca says.

I nod and Luca looks at the time and says, "We are late come on you guys gotta get ready."

We follow him to our stylist. I sit as the prep team does their work. They don't have to do much just a light make up and my hair.

I finish getting ready and go to the interviews. I go to Jacob he is wearing a suit that compliments his eyes well.

He turns and sees me. He smiles and says, "Wow you look nice."

He take Amy hand and twirls me making my dress poof up a little bit. I laugh and say, "You look pretty good too."

"Thank you. My stylist did a pretty good job didn't he."

"He did." I say

"Well I'm gonna go and talk to Finnick Odair the boy from 4. Maybe make some friends." I say

He nods and I walk over to Finnick making sure I talk clearly not stumbling over my words.

"Hey your Finnick Odair right?" I say

"Yeah your Aina Telles?"

"Yep I saw your games. You were so cool. With your trident, like that is skill." I say knowing very well that complimenting him is probably the best way to make a friend.

"Thanks you were pretty cool too." He says.

They start the interviews and I know I have to go and practice talking normally with Jacob.

"Thanks well I have to go. It was nice meeting you bye" I say

"Bye"

I leave to Jacob and he says, "I swear if you stutter over any words Luca will probably kill you."

I laugh and say, "Well I'll try."

"You better."

I start answering questions that will probably pop up with no problems with my words at all. By the time I'm done they call me up.

Jacob wishes me luck. I walk up with a little skip in my step.

"Welcome back Aina!" Ceaser says.

"Thank you Ceaser." I say sitting down with a smile but making sure my eyes are tough.

"You seem pretty happy. Are you excited to be going back into the games?" He says

"No that is not something I would think someone would be happy over. I am only happy because I got a cookie before this." I say keeping my crazy innocent feeling but turning my smile into a frown.

"I don't see why I have to go back to the place where m-my brother died." I allow myself to stutter for that one knowing it will show more sadness.

"Oh I'm sorry about that Aina." Ceaser says putting his hand on my knee to comfort me.

"Well I am upset that I will have to go back with someone who has been like a brother to me even before the games."

"Yes yes I know that must be terrible." He says sincerely.

"Do you have any strategies like last time?" He says.

"Well I think I'm just gonna figure this one out as I go. Because I don't really like planning hurting people. Because I know it hurts when you have to hurt someone else. Especially people you have known forever."

"Yes yes that can be difficult. So how does it feeling being the youngest by quite alot going into these games."

"Well you see I just wish we didn't have these games it isn't fair. And I am barely just starting to be a teenager. My brothers were gonna start letting me date this year, I had just started learning the piano. It is just alot to put on the line."

"Yes but if you come back you can have all that." He says.

"But I won't have my brother." I say referring to Jacob as my brother.

"Yes well I think that is all the time we have." He says.

I sadly get up and say, "adios"

I don't skip up away. Jacob comes on next. He talks about how each ot would be to undo this. I tuned the rest of the tributes out until Katniss spins around and her wedding dress turned into a mockingjay dress? Wow that looks cool.

Next to come on is peeta. He talks but the second he said, "If it wasn't for the baby." Thr crowd goes wild. He walks back over and we all start joining hands.

After we all join hands the lights go off Jacob's hand tightens around mine. I let go of the hand of whoever was next to me I don't know their name.

We are rushed off back to our floors. When we get there Luca says, "Wow Jacob that was amazing. Aina good thinking there. Both of u guys killed it."

"Thanks." Jacob says.

"Thank you." I repeat.

Luca says, "Well get some sleep remember tomorrow is a free day."

"Good night." I say and go to my bedroom. I take a shower getting the little make up I had on off. I dress into my pajamas and go to bed.
