Chapter 8 - (1.6K Words)
04:57, 23 March 2016It wasn't long before the bag was back over your head. Jimin had put the bag back on you, and told you that you would be stopping soon. Namjoon was up at the front of the bus, discussing his plans with all of the other members. You could hear all of their conversation, they were talking so loud.
"When we get back, I want this bus gone," Namjoon said. "There's already too many problems, and I don't need our getaway vehicle to be one of them. Taehyung, I want you to take Yoongi and Jin with you and get rid of it."
"How do you want to get rid of it?" A new voice asked, probably Taehyung.
"I don't care what you do," Namjoon responded calmly. "Push it off of a cliff, drive it into the ocean, take it to the junkyard, damage the engine and make it explode, I literally don't care. Just make sure that they can't trace it back to us."
"Hoseok, you'll have to drive once we get into the SUV. I'm the only one with a loaded gun, so just in case, I'll sit passenger," Namjoon said, and you heard a click. "Jimin and Jungkook, you're the strongest, so I'm sure that you can handle our little Princess."
You could imagine his facial expression as he said your new nickname. It was not a very pleasing image, at least to you it wasn't.
You could feel the bus start to slow down, like someone was stepping on the brakes. You heard footsteps getting louder as they were making their way towards you. A hand reached down and grabbed your arm, abruptly pulling you up and out of your seat.
"Don't worry, Jimin's got your things," you heard Jungkook say quietly as he pulled you to the front of the bus. "But we need to get off now."
Jungkook pulled you down the bus steps and out into the unbelievably cold world around you. You involuntarily shivered, but still kept up with Jungkook. It wasn't like you had a choice. You either keep up with him, or fall flat on your face.
If only I had my sweatshirt. At least I have a padded sports bra on.
"Jungkook, hurry the hell up! I'm not about to wait for your sorry ass, it's freezing out here!" You could hear Hoseok yell from far away. He sounded like he was out of breath.
The two of you started moving faster, and you were trying your best not to trip. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, because you weren't exactly walking on flat ground. That, and your muscles were tired and cold, so you weren't working right.
You heard the sound of several car doors clicking. As you kept going, you heard them get louder and louder. You also heard the bus take off behind you, which meant Taehyung, Jin, and Yoongi were already gone.
It wasn't long before the two of you slowed to a stop. Jungkook let go of your arm and leaned you against something cold and metallic. You heard another door click open, and you figured that you were leaning on a car.
How much did these guys prepare for this?
"Please forgive me for this," you heard Jungkook say. You were about to ask him what he was about to do, but then you could feel one arm wrap around your legs and mother around your upper body. Jungkook held you bridal-style before pushing you into the backseat of the car.
Jungkook released you, and another set of arms came from the other side of you. They turned you around and got you sitting straight in the middle seat. You heard the door close, and you could feel Jungkook's warmth press against you.
It wasn't much warmer inside the car than it was outside. But at least you didn't have to feel the icy wind as it ripped at your skin.
You heard the car engine rev to life, and the car sped off. As if it were a second thought, you could feel one of the boys lean over and pull the seatbelt around you. They lifted your arms and made sure you were buckled in tightly.
Don't want your precious cargo to go through the windshield, do we?
You heard a phone vibrate quickly, and your tied hands went to your pocket. Then you remembered, your phone was dead. You slowly drew your hands away from your pocket, hoping they hadn't noticed your reaction. At least they hadn't thought to search your person while you were on the bus.
"Alright, we don't have much time," You could hear Namjoon say. "Taehyung said that not long after we stepped off of the bus, there were loads of cops from Seoul after them."
"Did he say how far away they were?" You heard Hoseok ask. You could feel the car as it started to accelerate.
"No, he didn't say," Namjoon said, exasperated. "He only said that they might not be able to make it back for a couple of nights. But that means that they can't be too far behind us, either."
After that, the car was silent. Nobody said a word, not even you. There were so many things racing through your mind that you weren't sure you could say anything.
What happens when the cops catch up? Will they take me back to my aunt, or will they send me back home? What happens when you get in international trouble? Maybe I don't want to find out....
You could feel your eyelids start to droop, but your mind was still working as hard as ever. Now that you had questions you wanted to answer, you didn't want to sleep. The world around you started moving faster than you were, and you felt your eyes close.
* * * *
"Hey, wake up!" you could feel someone prodding you in the shoulder. Your eyes fluttered open, and you were once again met with the dark inside of the bag. You internally sighed, and felt warm arms wrap around you and pull you out of the car.
All I wanted to do was get some sleep...
"Now is not the time for this, Princess," you could hear Namjoon as he was still helping your limp body to get out of the car. He seemed like he was in a panic. "We've got to keep on moving, and I'm not about to let you slow us down."
With that, he picked you up and draped you over his shoulder. Within seconds, you were more than fully awake. The air was still as cold as when you had switched into the car earlier, but now there wasn't nearly as much wind.
You could hear sirens in the distance, and your heart rate increased. You forgot all about how cold you were. Just like before, you were more than awake. You could feel Namjoon start to walk faster. You could hear people running, the rest of the boys, all fleeing from the car.
Namjoon stopped, and set you down on your feet. You heard him fumbling with something, and then a loud metal clang. He grabbed onto your wrist, and pulled you forward. You were met with a sudden wave of warmth, which you were grateful for.
You felt the rope around your neck being loosened, and the bag was pulled off your head. You were met with the blurry outline of a room, and Namjoon standing in front of you, holding the bag and rope. He pulled your glasses out of his pocket, and slid them on your eyes, not bothering to waste time like he was before.
Something's not right. Why am I so disappointed?
You watched as the three other boys piled into the room around you, all gasping for their breath. Hoseok and Jimin hurriedly pulled shut the only entrance, a giant metal garage door.
No one spoke for a long time. The boys were all either hunched over or sitting down, catching their breath. You were the only one that was standing up. You decided to look around the room, and you were shocked.
Is this really where these boys live??
Although the room was big, it felt grimy. There were walls and floors of concrete, and a single rug was in the middle of the room. There were three large and dated couches spread all about the room. There were piles of old blankets draped over each of the couches. The only light in the room was coming from a single ceiling light, and even it seemed as though it was dimly lit.
"Alright," Namjoon said, already taking charge of the situation. "Jungkook, are you okay with taking the first watch tonight? Jimin, you should take the second watch, and I'll take the third. We should only have to do this for three hours each this time."
"Hoseok, can I trust you to watch over her?" Namjoon said, not even looking at you. Hoseok gave him a nod, and then Namjoon was back and talking to Jungkook. You heard something about guns and locks, but you couldn't make out anything specific.
"We won't be here for long," Hoseok said, drawing your attention. "This isn't where we were planning to go, but we can't get all the way to the safehouse with the fuzz crawling around looking for us. So, in the meantime...." He trailed off, walking up to you and grabbing your wrists. He forced his face uncomfortably close to yours.
"We're all stuck here for the night."
