Side Story: Asano's P.O.V

All of this short chapter revolves around Asano...(no crap)

Asano Gakushū age 12 

Elementary School, third year ,Friday 

"Well done Asano-san! Top grades in the year" sensei congratulated me, handing out the papers of the recent maths test results. 

Pff... this is a piece of cake compared to the tests father give to me for literal home-work. 

Most of the girls in the class also congratulated me, girls don't interest me though and anyway it sets off the boys in the class.

I pity them...they will never reach my level!

"Class, we have a new girl joining our class so be nice. Here she comes!" sensei made a surprise announcement 

The doors slide open to reveal a timid slender girl, short purple hair split to two tails on either side. 

"Would you like to introduce yourself" Sensei always had a smile and greeted her warmly like she does to everyone everyday.

"Nice to meet you, I am Okuda Manami and I moved here from Osaka. Please...uh treat me well" 

She bowed to the class, the girls were whispering behind me. 

"Asano-kun, as student representative could you show Okuda-san around?" 

" yeah sure" my answer delayed by the noisy classroom which was distracting

"Lucky" "I wish i could spend more time with Asano-kun" "Can I replace her?" I heard the girls begin gossiping behind me.

I rolled my eyes... like i'm interested in them pfft

Great! something more on my load to do...*sigh* 

"Okuda take a seat in front, there's a spare seat" I saw her awkwardly walk over to the desk on the far left of the front which is three seats from me. 

She doesn't look interesting at all, just shy and timid.

Why the hell did she move here anyway? It's the last term and basically the end of the term with end of tests and graduation. 

I can't wait to move to my old mans school, It's renowned in the world - one of the greatest schools for Junior/High School and My goal: Be the best student and show everyone who I can surpass my father.

*Bell rings* End of School 

Most of the boys rushed out first, not waiting another second, such scoundrels. 

The girls walk out after in their packs of gossiping groups while The new girl still sat in her seat, her sealed lips trembling in constant anxiety. 

"Hey, What's your name again?" 

"Okuda Manami" she murmured 

"Ah, Gakushū Asano" i replied even though i barely caught her name 

"Manami-kun?" 

"Yes?" she asked, her eye movement erratic from embarrassment 

"I never heard anyone say my first name apart from my parents" she say shyly 

"Oh sorry, You don't mind if I call you that?" no wanting to ask for her name a second time

"You know because it's a nice name and all" My comment sent her face into a light red hue

Ah she's cute!

"Um...o.ok" she replied 

What? What am i thinking, I dont like girls? None of this thinking is gonna help me surpass my father! 

"Excuse me...But..whats your name again?" 

"Gakushū Asano, but you can call me Asano-kun" 

After that, I packed my things and waited for her to do the same. 

She was scrambling from worry that she might keep me up 

"Don't worry take your time" I tried to calm her down 

She followed behind me afterwards and we were putting our outside shoes on again in silence.

"Do you have any place that interests you that you wanna see" I put my hands in my pockets and started walking slowly. 

"Um not really, but where is the train station?" she asked quietly 

"I'll show you" I stepped left as she followed behind a few metres back 

I peered back to see her walk concentrating on only her soles which caused her to bump into me. I caught her in my arms 

"You alright? You should really concentrate on your surroundings rather than your shoes" 

"Ah, I'm sorry Asano-kun, i'm really sorry" she bowed like 100 times

"It's ok don't sweat it" I try to stop her since it's embarrassing for me

"Just watch where are going and i'm leading you to the train station so pay attention"

She nodded accordingly to my instructions and followed me by my side this time. 

Suddenly a newly polished black car pulled up in view and the back door to the Mercedes swung open revealing a poker faced Gakuho (aka Asano dads). 

"There you are Asano-kun, Your mother is calling you home for dinner, let's go home" He then recognised Okuda hidden behind Asano and faintly smiled

"Hello are you one of my son's friends" he spoke warmly seeing her shy expression 

"Uh I'm Okuda Manami, nice to meet you Asano-kuns Father" she bowed 

"Sorry Manami, I have to get going so i'll show you around another time" Asano said with regret in his tone 

"hm? So your new here in tokyo?" Gakuho asked rather curious of Asano's new friend 

"Uh yes, actually I just met Asano today, he's been really nice to me so i'm very grateful" she bowed 

"Then why don't I take you out for a spin, do you perhaps know your address?" Gakuho asked being polite to her 

"Are you sure? I thought you said you need to get home, so I don't want to burden you" she replied being modest and not wanting to ruin family time 

"Don't worry, I'll just ask my wife to start dinner later, It's my position as an educator to lead my children into the right path, in your case that's around the city" 

"Thank you very much, please take care of me" She bowed again in gratitude 

He dismissed it with a wave of his hand "It's fine really" a smile on his face and gestured to enter the vehicle.

The two entered the Mercedes revealing its very white pristine leather seats which Okuda admired. There were 3 seats on facing identical seats opposite and so Asano and Okuda sat opposite Chairman Gakuho. 

Asian's father was curious of his son's new friend and crossing his legs and one hand under his sharp chin matching his sharp expression he began questioning Okuda. 

He simply clapped his hand twice and loudly then the car started moving going into a steady pace into the road.

"Where is your address Okuda-san, if you don't mind me asking" 

"Um...(her address)" she said nervously. Did i get it right? she questioned herself

"So you joined in third year and in the last term Okuda-san?" 

"Yes, My parents thought it would be a good idea to get used to Tokyo since i'm going to study here in junior and hopefully high school" 

"And your parents occupation are?" 

"My dad is a businessman who works for a cooperation in Osaka and my mother's an assistant manager in Osaka." she replied a little embarrassed. 

"If your parents work in Osaka, why did you move here, to Tokyo that is?" Asano asked curious 

"Uh well" Okuda didn't make eye contact with him "They want me to go to Kunugigaoka Junior  High School" 

Asano's eyes widened "Oh really?" He stared at Okuda with a slight smirk.

"mmh" she nodded "However, I don't know if I'm fit to attend it!" She said nervously 

"I dunno, it's a lot of pressure and work to make it in there and you would have to pass the entrance exams, Are you up for it Okuda-san?" Gakuho said adding pressure to her  

"But it's ok if you stay with me!" Asano faced Okuda who was taken aback by his words 

"Wha..." she was interrupted 

Asano's Father laughed his deep tone going through 

"If you had been given information about Kunugigaoka by your parents, then you would know who I am Okuda-san!" 

Okuda was very much confused, She swore she just met this man who was Asano's father. Does he know who she is? And just like that he answered her question as if he had read her mind 

"I'm the Chairman of Kunugigaoka Junior High School" his smirk was light like he revealed a happy surprise to her. 

Okuda felt more embarrassed talking about his school than anything

"I'm sorry Chairman if I offended you talking about your institution ungratefully" She bowed as low as her seat belt would let her before restraining her body back. 

Asano felt a sweat drip "Manami-kun you don't to act like that" his arms in front  She looks so pitiful but at the same time really cute he thought. 

His friends always react like this and even be afraid of his father.

Okuda stopped but was still feeling flustered as you could tell by her burning face. 

"Okuda-san I'm gonna tell you this, I'm not gonna give anyone an advantage nor a disadvantage to try out for Kunugigaoka so there will be a chance to always try out" The Chairman said in a calm voice without hesitation 

"If you don't believe me, I'm not even gonna let Asano-kun get in easily, he will be taking the entrance exam just like everyone else" Chairman Gakuho said 

Okuda looked at Asano who was focused on his fathers as they made deep eye contact.

"Don't sweat it Chairman, I'm positive that I will pass, I've been working to it mvy whole life" Asano said straight to him without blinking 

Okuda was confused, 'He didn't call him his father but Chairman?' 

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves,as they say: People who believe they're at the top are delusional. Bring them down to earth and they taste dirt." He said in english, his eyes changed into a manipulating stare for a second.

"And whose quote is that from Chairman?" he asked quickly 

"Don't you know? Myself! It's my own philosophy" He said His eyes intently at Asano 

"What are you calling me? Arrogant? Selfish? I work hard you know Chairman!" Asano said his teeth gritted but still trying to keep his calm demeanour 

"Don't have that face when a guest is in our car Asano-kun, who do you think we are? Some kind of monsters?" The chairmans face was in triumph as he knew he had won. 

He also gave a small smile to Okuda but still made her feel intimidated which made her nervous and make no eye contact with him again.

"Okuda-san, It was nice meeting you today. I shall leave it here" Chairman went on 

"Thank you for taking your time for me Chairman" Okuda bowed gratefully 

"Just call me Gakuho Sensei, Okuda-san. I hope to see you again" He said opening the door for her. Asano was frozen in his seat. 

"Asano-kun, are you not going to accompany Okuda-san to her door? We Asano's are gentlemen" 

He got out of the car after Okuda and shut the door. Chairman had gone back into the car and waited. 

Walk 

"Manami-Kun, forget anything that scumbag says" Asano said sharply his hands in his pockets and his eyes looking down 

"Don't worry Asano-kun, Thank you so much for today I'm very grateful for helping me. I hope we can become friends and you show me Tokyo again. Goodnight" Okuda bowed but Asano pulled her up quickly

"Don't say I helped you, I didn't but I will. Tomorrow...just wait" Asano let out a big grin which was genuine and as wide as the circumference of Kim Kardashian's ass. 

"But...But Tomorrow is Saturday!" Okuda said 

"Just wait...Goodnight Manami" Asano turned on his heels and made his way to the vehicle around the corner, his hand waved in the air as she saw his back go past and disappear. 

In the Mercedes

"Why is your face so red Asano-kun?" Chairman asked observantly 

"Nothing" Asano said his right arm leaning against the window to have his hand on his face, he turned to the outside window. 

Take it back now y'all - Okuda a few moments ago

Was he...he blushing! 

His grin was cute Okuda thought

She stood outside for a few minutes "What was the code for the apartment again" she mumbled to herself, her hand was on her chin concentrating really hard. 

It popped into her head "Bingo!" she quickly tapped the code and entered the complex. She walked a few steps and her new apartment.

She looked through her school bag again to find the keys, her cold hands were moving to all the nooks and crannies of the bag until she heard the clinking noise which was music to her ears. 

She took it out and opened the door to a freezing cold room. 

"Tadaima" she spoke to herself as she entered and took her shoes off. 

She made her way to the heater which was in a cupboard near her left of the corridor. 

"brrrrr(a)" She shivered and ran into the living room to turn on the lights. 

What a first day! 

******Tomorrow Morning 8AM ********

The phone for the building was buzzing constantly 

Okuda was in the small kitchen cooking herself beef ramen noodles when she went in the hallway to answer it 

"Yes?" she answered quietly 

"It's Gakushu" He said calmly 

"Asano-kun?!" She asked surprised 

"Yeah, you gonna let me in?" Asano asked 

"Hai" She answered and the door buzzed to let him through. 

She opened the front door to which made it easy for Asano to find

He waved at her "Manami!" His casual clothes consisted of denim jeans the perfect length, a cotton v neck dark purple shirt and black dr martin boots. He was wearing a silver chain necklace and hanging from it was a 

Okuda felt embarrassed feeling like she had looked at him too long but he didn't seem to mind as he also studied her.

Okuda didn't get ready and was in sleeping clothes which was a set of shorts and a pyjama button shirt. There was a constant pattern of unicorns on a line of rainbows.

He smirked when he saw its pattern "Cute" he spurted out before having a deep small laugh

"What?" Okuda only then realised her clothing choices and felt her face burn up 

"The house is new to me and my mum (mom) bought these as a leaving gift" She explained 

"But...why are you here Asano-kun?" She asked 

"I told you, just to wait till tomorrow" He smirked 

"Ok, let me get changed and eat first, if you don't mind Asano-kun?" 

"Nah, I interrupted you Manami, I'll wait for you so go get changed" 

"Thank you for spending your time with me" She bowed 

"I wanted to" He raised his hand 

"You can sit in the living room if you want?"

"Hm that sounds like a good idea" 

Okuda left Asano after showing him the living room and shut the door to her room behind her 

"Why am I blushing so much?" Okuda touched her face to try cool herself 

"I need to find something acceptable to wear" She said to herself 

"Wait, Why am I freaking out over this?" 

10 minutes later...

She opened the door, her outfit to which she messed up her room for was: 

A polka dot long sleeved button shirt with denim shorts which ended at her mid thighs.

However Okuda didn't have enough time to braid her purple hair into identical braids,so she let her hair into one high ponytail which curled at the ends due to not being straightened and having her bed head. 

She quietly made her way into the living room and Asano lifted his head from his phone to see her his jaw fell and he became infatuated with her at that moment 

She saw him stare at her "Do I look ok? Asano-kun?" 

"Yh you look great!" He replied his cheeks becoming rosy he looked away from her.

"uh Thanks" Okuda said

"You don't mind if I eat breakfast do you Asano-kun?" 

"Have you started your breakfast?" Asano asked he closed his flip phone, he was laying on the ground mat one arm leaning against the ground for balance and the other was on his phone. One of his legs were on the the mat while the other laid flat.

Upon seeing Okuda he sat upright in a proper form his legs crossed and a straight back. 

"No i was going to make ramen for myself but..."

"Perfect! Let's go now" Asano stood up 

"But breakfast?" Okuda asked 

"I haven't had anything either, We can have breakfast together." 

"Um ok" Okuda agreed as she would have ramen twice already and had gotten bored of the bland flavours. 

Out of the Apartment 

 Asano led Okuda to a main road which was a few minutes away and stuck his hand out indicating for a taxi (cab). 

When one came easily within 5 minutes, he opened the back door for her and entered the car afterwards shutting the door gently. 

"Downtown Tokyo shopping district please" Asano said instantly, The taxi driver;an fairly aged male, nodded to the rear view mirror and started the journey. 

"It's the best food i've tasted Manami, I think you will love it too" 

"What is it called?"

"Yukihira, It's a family owned restaurant" 

Okuda began daydreaming of food: juicy meats bursting with flavour, sweet fragrant pristine white rice steaming hot and vegetables that have intertwined with the meaty juices to compliment the dish to make a refreshing home made meal. 

She started drooling, the thought 'Real freshly prepared food with real tastes' oh couldn't she wait for food. 

After the taxi  journey  - 20 minutes...

They walked down the stone streets of the shopping district, the two were getting many stares; Mainly from girls staring at Asano's orange hair and his powerful purple eyes. 

This made Okuda feel uncomfortable and awkward, sometimes accidentally making contact with the girls who were staring at Asano. She distanced herself from him in order to avoid the awkward looks 

He suddenly pulled her into his arm and let her arm link around his 

"What's the matter Manami? You keep going away from me! Aren't I supposed to be showing you around?" Asano said close to her ear as the streets were busy 

She was flustered his arm was linked tightly with hers so it was hard to escape. 

"Hold on tight we have a crossing" Asano showed her the crossing which was filled with a crowd of its own for each corner. 

Everyone was riling to go as the traffic lights turned yellow and eventually red. 

As the beeping started and the green light flashed for the walkers; Every corner had people flooding in at all directions and Asano walked at a fast pace making sure to keep Okuda tightly packed next to him in fear of getting separated.

After the paced walked through the packed crowds, Asano stopped under a tall Arch. A sign which stood high above revealed their locations: Harajuku district. 

Okuda gazed at the sign which was a green capital letters of Harakjuku on a white background arch shape. Two poles on either sides were painted shiny green and many small notices and signs and stickers were at stuck at the bottom. 

"Beautiful" Okuda said under her breath 

"It's really something,I'l take you once we eat ok Manami?" Asano asked his arm still firmly linked with hers. 

She nodded and followed him down the bright alleyway that was already filling with tourist and couples. 

At the end of the street, Asano stopped and showed Okuda the diner which was on the left side of them. It was the last building on that side.

The diners name: Yukihira, was written in black and outlined in white on top of the shops rain cover which was a rose red. 

The two sliding doors were situated bang in the middle of the building making it symmetrical to the two balconies above the shop. 

Asano slid the wooden doors left and entered the diner 

A red spiky haired boy cheerfully greeted the two while carrying finished plates and spotted them entering. "Irasshaimase (Welcome/Come in)" 

They both bowed and Asano made their way into a corner of the small diner. It had a wooden wall dividers for privacy of the meal. 

They sat opposite eat other in their booth which could of fit up to 4 people

The diner was busy yet not packed and consisted of 4/5 tables of couples and business people. 

The air filled with delicious aromas which Okuda loved. 

She could feel her stomach yearning for the food she couldn't resist it anymore 

The menus were laminate paper menus were given and she scanned it before picking a beef patty with jasmine rice and an egg on top.

"Great choice Manami, I'll have the same please" Asano gave the menus back to Soma and and he disappeared behind the open island bar. 

"Is there anywhere you would like to go Manami?" Asano asked politely 

"Um, not in particular" Okuda's mind went blank.

 She was actually looking forward towards a lot of places tourist books offered, However when it came to try say it the words were a jumble in her head and it was better off not to say anything to embarrass herself.

"It's okay then, lets just go to the tourist spots and essentials" Asano took out his phone and was typing away.

Okuda didn't know what to do waiting for the food to arrive so stared down at the table in silence, her spine was so straight it would put rulers to shame. 

She didn't know that Asano was glancing at Okuda while typing in his notes. 

Okuda occasionally checked on Asano's features: His sharp nose, a defined jaw and the locks of hair that would hang loose below his head. 

She caught his eye and they locked into each others gaze before Okuda realised the awkwardness and looked away.

The food had arrived, steam rose up from the dish covering Okuda's round glasses.

It was here and she was ready to devour it! 

However, she knew she had to keep her manners and waited for Asano to receive his meal. 

They had a small look beforehand and Asano gave a small nod towards her and she shyly nodded back before digging in. 

"Itadakimasu" Okuda said and Asano followed along 

After waiting for the food to cool down on the fork, she swooped it into her mouth. 

Her face was in total awe 'Call the vatican I found heaven' she thought 

"Amazing" Okuda said her palm on her cheek

Asano looked amused at Okuda's reaction 'She so cute' he thought

"Didn't I tell you, the food was great. Its better than some cuisine dinners and it would be quadruple the price." 

 That tis the place Asano felt something shift deep inside 

********Asano P.O.V*********

What is this feeling? 

What is even happening with me? 

Why am I being so irrational and taking this girl i've never met? 

A question he couldn't answer for once, he was baffled. 

"Manami, You shouldn't trust anyone so easily you know!" I said bluntly distracting her from her food and leaving her very confused 

She nodded her head anyway 

'Shit' I thought, i'm gone have to...

"You shouldn't even trust me you know!" I looked into her eyes dead serious 

I could see her body move as further away she could in the chair 

"What do you...m..mean?" She said nervousness in her voice (when you realise you accidentally quote Justin Bieber - what a cameo) 

"I've been lying to you Manami."

"huh?" her tone was surprised and scared

"I'm not nice or someone you should trust. I am independent and strict and you are just the new one I've been assigned to help. Don't take it personally, but I'm not doing this out of my free will" I said this formally and slowly to help her process 

She was still and her head was down not making eye contact

I was obviously lying. Why? I don't know how to control myself and the only way I can is to escape from them and not go back to them. Right? 

"I...I'm " she said the last words she broke down and her mouth was wobbling her lower lash line filled with tears not released yet 

"I'm sorry you feel that way!" Okuda said the tears finally running down her soft red cheeks. 

I froze 

I can't deal with these new feelings let alone a crying girl but...Manami was crying...because of me...Damn I felt like a bastard.

"A...." I couldn't say anything 

"I'm sorry but I have to go" Manami said and stood up quickly, leaving the booth 

I reacted fast and stood up as well... "Mana...Manami!"

I quickly paid the bill which I calculated the new got the menus and had been preparing in my wallet. 

Manami had fast walked herself to the streets 

"I could see her as I slid the door open, she was waiting to cross the road and as the last people had crossed and the lights went yellow. 

She however probably didn't see it as she was about to step into the street. 

I ran to her and grabbed Manami's small wrist back pushing her into my direction and the cars passed quickly by us. 

"You could of hurt yourself Manami" I shouted at her 

"Look properly before crossing you could have been hit" I tighten my grip on her wrist 

She still had tears flowing "I'm sorry" She replied quietly her head down and her body stiffened. 

"Please let go of me" She said and I let her go 

"Please don't follow me Asano-kun, you don't have to burden yourself if you don't want to. Honestly, I'm fine so I can find my way back home" She said it so kindly It made me feel so much more guilty. 

I didn't say anything, what is there to say?

"Well thank you anyway for showing me around the restaurant and being kind to me for my first day" She bowed to me but I felt it was forced 

The lights turned red and Okuda disappeared into the street. 

I didn't follow her...She doesn't want me to and I hurt her intentionally.

Maybe This wasn't meant to be anyway?

Asano Gakushū Age 15 (Present)

************************

I am the best and at the top of the school, you can guess which school I got into right? 

If not then you must be in class e haha

My favourite pass time is to take the mick out of the imbeciles below me. 

Studying is my favourite thing to do, however I have seemingly learnt everything already so this is just child's play. 

I also have good looks as I get many girls love letters and confessions on a daily basis, However I do not have time for girls nor can they live up to my standards anyway

Except for one....Okuda Manami 

I don't show it though, what  if anyone found out I liked anyone from Class e

I would be the laughing stock of our year 

Also what would my father say or do? I don't want to find out. 

After that day I let her go by herself she didn't want to talk to me...it seemed she didn't want to talk to anyone after that incident. 

She was always alone in class and walking home and I couldn't talk to her, I...I couldn't bring myself to do it. 

And so it was like that for the end of the year and she somehow made it into the same junior school Kunugigaoka. 

She wasn't in my class (A) but I would occasionally see her in the corridors or the canteen only with friends and looking happy. That feeling had returned however more impact and feelings came along.

She noticed me around for the two years but never tried to encounter me in anyway which made me fee also angry I could smash the locker in envy. 

I developed a new way of hiding my feelings when she was revealed to be in Class e for the last year and that was to bully and isolate class e itself. 

Being away from her was a pity but I didn't have to see her and the feelings didn't return except assemblies. 

She stood with such a shy stance and didn't make eye contact with me on stage where I sat on one of the chairs laid out for representatives. 

Her purple hair got longer overtime and it hang into twin braids which falls effortlessly down her hair and her untouched lips I lusted to take her first kiss. 

I decided that the next assembly afterwards, I would take her, finally she would be mine I could find happiness in something; find affection which I never received from a devil nicknamed my father...Maybe I could find Love.

The day after Assembly 

I rushed from the stage and saw that she was at the back of the line waiting on the cusp of the outside doors and inside. 

I gripped her wrist and dragged her along a shortcut way along the back of the main school building (a prime spot to talk) and pinned her on the wall. 

She shrieked "Stop Asano-kun" 

She would be mine, I was so happy, words just spurt out 

"Come on you can't resist me, Manami-kun"

Suddenly Out of nowhere I got punched. None other than that scumbag Karma, He should be in a mental asylum if he wasn't so damn smart. 

"Only I can call her Manami!" Karma said 

Wtf is this? KARMA?!?!?!? Wh that son of a b*tch! I felt anger come over me 

"Manami, don't tell me he's boyfriend?" 

"I've really wanted a punching bag for a while now" 

"too bad, I need to get revenge on you, because you stole my woman" 

"Let's go b*tch" Karma provoked me, How f*cking dare he!

"Karma" Manami murmured in concern, WTF! Karma is what to her 

"Why do you feel anything for this jerk Manami?" I barked 

Why does he always wants whats not his? Greedy bastard

I can't deal with such potent sh*t like him anymore, But I won't treat Manami will be mine

I decided to get myself out of the situation and leave 

However I will not rest until I get want I want..What I deserve...Okuda Manami

Oh does Karma know that Manami's favourite restaurant was introduced by Asano!
