Side Story: Kayano and Kanzaki: Operation Matchmaker

The next night after seeing Karma and Okuda together into his apartment 8.30pm Sunday

Kayano's Apartment

Kayano's apartment where Kanzaki and Kayano are around a foldable dining table.

"C'mon, how long does a printer take?!" smacking the top of her fairly old printer which took a considerable amount of the table space.

"Be careful, it's not the most durable thing in the world you know Kayano-chan"

"Yeah, but after we get the pictures we can begin the investigation!"

"Investigation?" Kanzaki asked dazed by her comment

"Yes, Why did Okuda-san go with Karma to his apartment and after we stayed there for 2 and a half more hours she didn't go out huh, that's a mystery needing to be solved!" Giving a heroic pose, one arm showing a strong arm and another peace sign to her eye.

"Heh, Don't remind me we stood outside in the freezing rain; not to mention it was dark already" Kanzaki with blank eyes

"It's like they say in science, the longer the investigation the more evidence and reliability!"

"Or was it the more tries you make the more reliable?" Kayano thinking, stroking her chin

"Who said that?" Kanzaki asked

"People said, Science people!" Kayano arguing her point

"You're too funny Kayano-chan" Kanzaki laughed

The printer suddenly made a funny noise and a bang was heard as well as two screams!

Self consciously, both had ran to the corner of the room, hugging each other for safety.

"What was that?"

Kayano had a crying face "That's great, I'm broke, the printer is broke!"

"What are we gonna do about the investigation?" Kanzaki asked

"hmm" Kayano was thinking hard

"What about the teachers printer?

"Yes Kanzaki-chan great idea!"

"Wait! But what if one of the sensei's see and we get caught?"

"Just go early in the morning, no ones around"

"Wow, that is well thought out Kayano-chan!"

"Operation Matchmaker K.Y will be held up until pictures printed, however as a substitute; I shall draw a perfect representation of the photos myself" Kayano proclaimed proudly

"Where did Operation Matchmaker K.Y come from?" Kanzaki asked

"Well it's the plan to match Karma and Okuda,and its K.Y for me (kayano) and you Kanzaki-chan" She answered while rushingly sketching what was essentially two stick men with scribbled hair for Okuda together.

Kayano looked proud over it and asked Kanzaki for an opinion

"Well, uh it's uh Great!" She lied with a smile

"Really! Thats great because if I don't succeed with my first job opportunity i was thinking of becoming an artist"

"Oh really that's great" a sweat dropped from Kanzaki

"Oaky let's get back to this 'investigation' shall we" Kanzaki trying to avoid her making more art drawings.

"So you're saying that just because they walked to Karma's apartment and went in, they are a couple?"

"Yes"

"Is that enough to go on?" Kanzaki Confused

"The real question is what did she do there and well everything, I NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING!" Kayano shouted

"Oi Kayano-chan, the neighbours" a finger on her lip to shush her

"Ah sorry" Kanyano apologised and a sweat dropped from Kansaki

"Well first we have to think of some possibilities of how they met and reasons why they entered Karma's apartment together; I mean it's pretty suspicious if you ask me!" Kanzaki added

"Dirt minded girl" Kayano snickered

"Coming from you of all people"

"Hey!"

"What?"

"Sex"

"Stop Kayano-chan, we are in junior high" her forehead turned blue and she was feeling veins pop out her forehead

"Ok I'm sorry if you can't handle the word Sex!" Kayano replied sarcastically arms folded across her flat chest.

"Let's have a thinking session for 10 minutes"

They sat on the mats around the table with a piece of paper so after the thinking time they could jot any ideas

10 minutes later...

They now concentrated on each other and the pressure in the room could be cut with a knife.

Who was going to write something first and what would it be?

Kayano took a pen from the table and the piece of paper towards her, she wrote with concentration, never leaving her she wrote...Sex!

Kanzaki ignored that and wrote a real suggestion 'Video gaming'

They filled the page with many suggestions

" Well, which one shall we choose then?" Kayano was thoroughly confused as to which one to pick.

"From this, we don't have enough info on the matter so first lets gather more."

"How?" Kayano bewildered

With a smug smile on her face Kanzaki replied "We investigate duh"

"Oh so when?"

"morning before school we can walk up and discuss together" Kanzaki concluded with

"Today is late now and I have to go home before my 9.30 curfew goodbye"

"What? curfew! That's so lame" Kayano laughed

They hugged before she leaved Kayano "Oyasumi (goodnight) Kayano-chan"

"Oyasumi" and with a wave and friendly smile the day wrapped up with no conclusive end for the Okuda Karma mystery, for now!

Morning before school 6.00 am

Kanzaki was waiting outside kanyano's apartment door The door opened wide to reveal a messy green haired Kayano

"You're not ready yet?!" Kanzaki surprised

"Get in and give me some time!" She didn't have her usual high pitched voice but was it was rather raspy and low which indicated she just woke up.

"Excuse my intrusion" kanzaki said as she made her way into the living room and sat on the mat.

Kayano got ready 10 minutes later and they started to walk out to the path of school.

"Have you got your equipment ready?" Kayano asked "What? It's on my phone, of course I have it"

"Okay okay just checking" They did more discussion about karma and okuda on the way up the steep natural terrain and ruled out some of the nearly impossible scenes Kayano wrote down.

Inside the building...(This would now lead to the stuck in a pickle last scene)

Kayano and Kanzaki were on the floor taking their shoes off in the entrance to replace with slippers.

"God walking up here really takes it out of me!" Kayano whined.

"I'm rather glad actually. Being at the main campus, we would always get looked down on and never have peace of mind or tranquillity."

"True" Kayano agreed

"So... Where's the printer placed?" Kanzaki asked

"In the teachers office, hopefully no-ones there"

"Wait... Let me put my bag in the classroom first"

"Okay, I'll come with"

"What is their official ship name then?" Kayano asked

"Kanami?"

"Please no" Kanzaki said as her sweat dropped

Kayano started rambling about how Kanami was the best name and her otp.

Kanzaki slides the door open to enter the classroom

Kanzaki sees  two sets of eyes staring at them... Karma and Okuda

Unfortunately Kayano didn't see them and kept talking about the two

"Kanami is Karma and Okuda's true ship name , come on"

"KAYANO-CHAN!"

What's with the shouting in the morning eh?"

Kayano tried to signal to stop when she nudged her in the arm.

"Ouch that hurt Kanzaki what was that for?"

She looked around the room to see the couple looking at her with furrowed eyes.
