Launch of Our Dreams Ch. 22
15:52, 18 April 2018Serena's POV
Five minutes. I've got this. Breathe... In, out. In, out.
I sat in my seat as I watched people starting to form in the square through the window. I was currently in a small cafe that showed a perfect view of the square. They were all waiting for the demo performance. The one that I would be giving.
I sighed out loud. May and Dawn came up to me.
"Hey, you alright?" Dawn asked as she and May sat on the seats across from me.
"Yeah. Just... nervous," I replied sheepishly.
"Don't worry. You've got lots of experience! This will be easy!" May encouraged.
I smiled at her. "So where's Drew?" I asked as I looked around for him.
"Oh, he's back at the Showcase Hall heaping our with some finishing touches," May answered.
"Alright," I turned my attention back to the window, waiting for the moment that I'd have to step out.
Ash's POV
"Oh gosh, oh gosh! We're gonna miss it! We're gonna be late! We've got to hurry!" I shouted as I ran towards the square with Pikachu on my shoulder.
As I got closer to the square, I saw a group of people at the center. I slowed down and pushed my way to the middle.
"Alright! Thanks for showing up everyone! I honestly wasn't expecting that many people here!" A female voice shouted over the crowd.
Yes! I'm not late! But... why does that voice sound familiar?
I finally made it through the crowd and to the front to see someone standing in the middle of a cleared out circle dressed in a red trench coat and sunglasses.
"Now, I won't hold you guys to your curiosity any longer, so without further ado, please enjoy my performance!"
And with that, the person grabbed their trench coat and sunglasses and threw them off of them to reveal a familiar, beautiful honey blonde. (He's not denying it XD)
"Is that Serena?!" A voice shouted.
"Who's that?" Someone asked.
"No way! Serena Yvonne! The Top Coordinator and Kalos Showcase finalist! What's she doing here in Alola?!" Someone else added.
There were more comments like that, but I just kept staring at Serena in awe. So this is why she was never around...
Serena's eyes drifted around the crowd until they landed on me. Her eyes widened until she smiled and winked at me. I felt my face explode with heat.
Did she just wink at me?!
"Alright, come on out guys!" Serena shouted as she released her Milotic and Pancham.
"Milotic, use Dragon Breath, and Pancham, use Low Sweep!" She called.
Milotic's Dragon Breath was light and elegant as it surrounded Pancham. Then, Pancham used Low Sweep, which turned into a breakdance.
"Now!"
Pancham spun on his hands in a circle with his leg that had the Low Sweep move stick out. The Low Sweep hit the Dragon Breath that surrounded him and exploded into sparkles.
The crowd gasped in awe as the sparkles rained down on the whole square.
"Rock Tomb!" Serena said.
Pancham punched the ground and columns of blue translucent rocks shot out of the ground and around the rim of the small circle that the crowd made for the performers.
"Dragon Tail! Jump on it!" Serena shouted to Milotic.
Milotic jumped up into the air as her tail grew green. She landed onto one of the columns of rock and jumped onto another until she was jumping on all of them. But while she landed on each one, her tail hit each column, exploding it into sparkles as she jumped onto the next.H"Finally, Dark Pulse and Ice Beam! Into the air!" Serena shouted.
Both aimed their moves at the sky and shot them at the same time. Pancham unleashed a beam of purple energy while Milotic produced a light blue beam. Both moves collided midair and exploded into purple and light blue fire works.
The crowd cheered loudly, responding well to their first live performance. Serena, Milotic, and Pancham all bowed to the audience.
"Thank you for coming! If you want to see more of me and my fellow Performers and Coordinators' performances live, come to the Alolan Showcase Hall here on Melemele Island next week on Friday!" Serena said gratefully.
She gave the exact location before bowing as returning her pokemon to their pokeballs and disappearing into the crowd.
The crowd chatted nonstop about the new "Alolan Showcases" and about the fact that Serena performed in front of them, but I rushed off in order to find her. I searched through the crowd and around the square until I saw her rounding a corner, her yellow shirt trailing in the wind as she ran. I quickly ran after her.
Since when was she this fast?!
She was already a few yards ahead of me, and I was running so fast that Pikachu almost fell off of my shoulder. To be honest, I kinda forgot that he was there.
Serena finally stopped when she was at the beach. I stopped a yard or two away from her, too out of breath.
"S-Serena, *wheeze* h-how are y-you so *huff* fast?? I gasped out.
She turned around quickly. "Huh? Ash? You followed me? Are you alright?" Serena asked as she came up to me to sit me down on the sand. She then sat beside me.
"I-I'm fine. Anyways, what was that? More importantly, where were you?" I asked.
Serena let out a small giggle. "Well, Ash, I was gone doing that."
"Huh?" I said, being my ignorant self.
She sighed. "Me, May, and Drew were absent because we were planning this whole thing. The Alolan Showcases." She said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"A mix of Kalos Showcases and Pokemon Contests," She answered.
Serena started explaining the Alolan Showcases. A Theme Stage like in Kalos, then a Battle Stage like in Contests, and finally, a Freestyle Stage. She seemed so enthusiastic while explaining the whole thing.
"Wow! You guys have really put a lot of thought into this," I said.
Serena smiled. "Of course! This is something that we're all so passionate about."
"Where is the Showcase Hall, though?" I asked.
Serena shook her head playfully. "Nope! You're gonna have to find that out next week." She winked at me again.
I felt my face light up again but I shook my head to clear it.
What's with the winking?!
Serena stood up and walked closer towards the water, her feet now standing on the wet sand.
"It's all ready..." She said quietly, but you could hear the proudness in her voice. "Soon, it'll be the launch of our dreams..."
I smiled as I watched her face the horizon. The sun was setting and the orange light that bounced off of the waves made her hair seemed bright, yet soft orange. The breeze played with her short hair, which had grown a little since Kalos.
"Serena..." I started, the words flying around before I could catch them.
"Will you go on a date with me...?"
Haha I'm so evil. So, FINALLY! We can actually have an Amourshipping moment in this fanfic. I'm usually all about development ;P Sorry to those of you who enjoy this book, but it's actually coming to a close soon. I'm thinking of making another Amourshipping story after this, so don't worry! This was my first ship ever and I'm not about to let it go to waste. Thanks for 3.75k reads as well! I'm very grateful! It was only a few months ago that I was fangirling about having 160 reads... Ha... ha... That was funny. Anyways, thanks again! Once I get an actual idea of the next fanfic, I'll tell you guys! Until then, please vot, comment, and share! Ciao!
