Serena's POV

It's been a week that me, Dawn, May, and Drew have been here in Alola. We've become friends with everyone in our class at the Pokemon School. Lillie, Mallow, Lana, Kiawe, and Sophocles. They were really nice. I'm glad that Ash was able to make some new friends here. Speaking of which, I'm glad that they decided to keep our presence a secret. Me and the gang (the gang is Dawn, May, and Drew) bought a cabin that was near the Pokemon School and the Professor's house where Ash currently was staying. It was near the ocean and had a lovely view of the water and beach. The cabin itself had four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a porch, and a nice backyard. Drew used one bathroom while us girls used the other. We often let our pokemon play outside in the backyard since it was big, and we would leave the door unlocked so that they could come in whenever. We also let them out of their pokeballs everyday when it was just us alone in our cabin.

I got out of bed earlier than the others as usual. Once upon a time, I would've be sleeping in until around noon unless a pesky little Fletchling pecked me awake, but now that I was so used to traveling, I grew into a habit of waking up early. It was around 6:00 in the morning and Drew usually woke up around 6:30, Dawn at 7:00, and May at noon (unless you shook her violently to wake her up since she's a heavy sleeper). I took a quick shower and slipped into my regular yellow flower patterned shirt and green shorts. Drew was already up because I could hear his shower running. I decided to make some breakfast for everyone while I waited for them to wake up.

Just as I finished with the pancakes I glanced at the clock and it said 6:59. I sighed as I grabbed some random earplugs out of nowhere and shoved them into my ears. I quietly counted down.

"Three..."

"Two..."

"One."

"AAAHHHHH!!! MY HAIR!!! PIPLUP! BUBBLE!"

I heard the small penguin pokemon's attack go off with a splash. I took out the earplugs and sighed. Dawn's early routine. Me and Drew had gotten used to Dawn's screaming in the morning because of her bed head. We had her room placed the farthest from us two but right next to May. Her screaming in the morning was one of the the only things that would wake her up.

About forty-five minutes later, both Dawn and May came into the living room. Me and Drew were already there. Drew was reading a book while I was playing with some of the pokemon. They both were wearing their regular clothes and looked fresh from the shower.

"Morning guys!" I greeted.

"Hey Serena! Hey Drew!" Dawn said happily.

Drew stood up and walked over to May. He leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Morning."

May blushed slightly but kissed his cheek as well. "Good Morning."

"Alright, now that you two have given each other your daily lovey-pidovey morning kisses, let's eat!" Dawn said cheerfully.

I giggled and glanced over at May and Drew. Both were bright red.

We sat at the table and started eating breakfast. I put out three pancakes for me, the same for Dawn and Drew, and six for May. Did I mention that she has a huge appetite too?

We left for school a little while later and stopped by the Professor's house. We had gotten into a routine of waking up, walking to the Professor's house to pick up Ash, and walk with Ash to school. We walked up to their porch while I knocked. A few seconds later the door flung open to reveal a perfectly ready Ash and Pikachu on his head. Ash called a goodbye to Professor Burnet, Professor Kukui's wife, and we started walking in the direction of the school.

Time Skip Lunch~

"Let's have lunch again at my family's restaurant!" Mallow said.

"Okay!" We all agreed.

While we were walking to Mallow's family restaurant, we passed through the square. Me, Dawn, Drew, and May were wearing our sunglasses since there were tons of people. We were all walking in a group towards the restaurant when we passed by a little girl and her mother. The little girl looked up and her eyes widened.

"Mama, wait!" The girl said.

The mom did as the little girl asked and the little girl turned to us, or more specifically, me.

"Are you Serena?" She asked.

I was surprised. How could a little girl find out so quickly? I bent down to my knees and faced her at eye level. I lifted my sunglasses out of my eyes but they were still on my head.

"How'd you know?" I asked.

The little girl's eyes sparkled. "I really, really, really love your performances and contests!" She said.

"You've seen both?" I asked again.

The girl nodded. "I watched you in Kalos and when you almost got the title of Kalos Queen! Then I watched you compete in contests and become a Top Coordinator!"

I smiled.

"Can you perform? Now?"

I looked around and saw that people were still walking and occupying the space, not taking notice of our little conversation here. I turned back to the little girl.

"How about we find a quiet place to do it. This is a secret, alright?" I said as I slid the glasses back over my eyes and stood up.

The little girl started nodding rapidly and begged her mom repeatedly to see the performance. The mom said ok and the little girl was jumping up and down all over the place. The mom was trying to calm her down. I quietly laughed and turned back to the group. They were all sweat dropping.

"Now... Where do I do it?" I muttered.

"How about in the space behind my family's restaurant?" Mallow suggested. "It's private land so no one can go on it without permission."

I nodded. "That's perfect!"

We started walking to the restaurant with the little girl and her mom behind. When we got there, Mallow went inside to help with the cooking while the others followed me around the back. I went to the middle of the field while everyone else stayed in the sidelines.

"You ready?" I called to the little girl who jumped happily as a response.

I smiled and took out my pokeball.

"Milotic! Take the stage!"

Milotic appeared in the field a few yards ahead of me.

"Use Aqua Ring!" I shouted.

A ring of water suddenly appeared around Milotic. The Aqua Ring gave Milotic energy as it started to glow.

"Ice Beam!"

Milotic charged an Ice Beam in her mouth and aimed it at the Aqua Ring. As soon as both moves made contact, the Aqua Ring froze  into rings of ice around Milotic. The frozen Aqua Ring was still shining, but the light reflected off of the ice making it shine brighter and in rainbow colors.

"Let's finish this up! Dragon Tail!" I shouted.

Milotic's tail started turning green. The water-snake pokemon jumped high over the frozen Aqua Ring and fell back down. As Milotic was falling, it spun in the air. It used its tail to smash the frozen move into little icy bits. The bright energy stayed in the air for a few seconds while Milotic landed gracefully onto the floor and posed. The light bounced off of the ice and made it look like rainbow colored sparkles before finally despising.

I ran up to Milltic and hugged her. "Great job! All that practice really paid off!" I praised.

Milotic let out a happy cry and snuggled her head against my neck. I hugged her back tighter.

"Wow!!"

I turned and saw the little girl running up to me with sparkles in her eyes. I laughed and smiled at her.

"So, did you like it?" I asked.

She nodded. "It was beautiful! You did an amazing job!"

I shook my head. "I didn't do anything. It was all Milotic here," I said as I pet Milotic's head.

"That's not true." I heard.

I looked up and saw Ash walking over to us, along with the others.

"You both must've trained really hard to pull off something as pretty as that!" Ash praised.

I lightly blushed at his compliment and smiled. "Thanks Ash. But Milotic put through all the effort."

"That was amazing!" Lana said.

"Yeah! It was beautiful!" Lillie agreed.

The boys all nodded their heads.

"Great job Serena!" Dawn said.

"Thanks guys," I said gratefully.

"That was great Serena, but there's no doubt that I would've done better," Drew said as he flicked his hair.

May punched him hard on the shoulder, causing him to stumble back. "Hey! That's not nice Drew!" May said.

I laughed as the couple got into another argument complete with name calling. Suddenly, we all heard a growl and turned in the direction of the noise. It was Ash.

"W-Whoops..." He muttered.

We all bursted out laughing at him.

"Look! It's not my fault that I'm hungry!" Ash retorted.

"Lunch's ready!" We heard Mallow call.

As soon as Mallow said lunch, Ash sped off to the door. Everyone else started walking off too. I pulled out Milotic's pokeball and returned her. Just as I was about to take a step, I felt a tug on the bottom of my shirt. I turned around and saw the little girl grabbing the hem of my shirt.

"Are you going to perform here?" She asked.

"Hmm..." I said. There were no contests or showcases here in Alola. This single thought had been staying in my mind for a little, but what if I thought about bringing showcases and contests to Alola?

"Maybe one day," I gave her a reassuring smile. Suddenly, I fact came to me.

"Hey, I never got your name." I said.

"Oh, I'm Kaylie!" The little girl said.

"That's a pretty name!" I smiled.

"Kaylie! Come on!" I heard the mom calling for her. Kaylie nodded and waved at me.

"Bye Serena!" Katie called as she ran off in the direction of her mother.

"Bye Katie!" I waved back.

Once she was gone, I started walking back towards the restaurant. That single thought still lingered in my mind. After thinking about it further for a little longer, I finally decided.

"Alright." I nodded and pulled my hand into a determined fist. "I'm bringing performing to Alola."
