What a Coincidence... Ch. 6

Ash's POV

Ash yawned. When he got up, his body felt really stiff. He realized that he hadn't slept on the floor for a while. Ash looked over at the bed and found Brock sleeping away peacefully. Ash quickly changed his clothes and as he walked out of his room, he heard Brock mutter, "Nurse Joy..." Ash sweat dropped at his love struck friend (who practically swoons over every Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny that he sees) and walked out the door.

Ash pretty much flew in the direction of the breathtaking waffles he smelled as he came down the stairs. He saw Misty and Pikachu playing with each other and his mom and Mr Mime making breakfast.  Ash patted Pikachu on the head, greeted Mr Mime, his mom, and Misty, and plopped himself on the couch.  He grabbed the remote and switched on the TV. He skimmed through each channel, trying to find something to watch. News about Kanto, Unova, Jhoto, Sinnoh, and Kalos showed up on the screen, but as he was flipping through channels, he found news on Hoenn. Ash stayed on the channel to find any news about Serena's Pokemon Contest. Ash suddenly heard a voice coming from the TV. 

"To all of you Pokemon Contest fans or Coordinators out there, the next Pokemon Contest location has just been released! We will be holding it in the Slateport City Contest hall, next Friday at 10 am, so be sure to check it out!" The announcer said.

'Well, sounds like what Serena said.' Ash thought to himself. 

"And one more thing! We will be having a guest Coordinator come and perform before the Contest starts, so we hope to see you there!" The voice said. 

'A guest Coordinator? Who could that be?' Ash wondered. Suddenly, a knock on his head woke him up from his daydream.

"Hey Ash! Didn't you hear us? Breakfast's ready."

Ash turned around to find Misty in his face. Her hand was still balled into a fist and Ash flinched, thinking she would hit him again.

"Okay! Okay! Just don't hit me again!" Ash said to her. Misty gave a satisfied sigh and walked over to the table. As Ash got up to do the same, he saw Brock walking down the stairs.

"Morning Brock." Ash said.

*Yawn* "Morning Ash. Is it time for breakfast?" Brock asked.

"Yeah, come on!" Ash rushed over to the table and began eating away at everything on his plate.

As everyone ate they talked a little about small things, then Misty asked, "Hey Ash, the next time you call Serena or something, could we meet her with you?" 

Ash swallowed his food. "Sure! I was actually thinking of calling her today." Ash finished his plate before everyone else and put it in the sink. Ash rushed up into his room to get his backpack and went back downstairs.

"You guys better hurry up!" Ash shouted at them.

"Where are you going?" His mom asked.

"To the Pokemon Center to call Serena!" Ash answered, putting his shoes on.

"You don't need to! We already have a phone in the house." His mom said to him.

"What?" Ash asked. "Since when?"

"I bought it before you came back to Kanto." His mom answered.

"Where is it?" Ash asked her.

Delia stood up and walked over to Ash. "Right there." Ash looked in the direction where his mom was pointing. A small box with a screen and keyboard was sitting on a small table next to the TV. Ash got up and walked slowly towards the phone. He stared dumbfounded at the phone.

'Has that always been there?' Ash thought.

"Well, looks like we won't have to go anywhere." Ash heard Misty say.

Ash turned around. "Yeah, but you better hurry up. I'm gonna call her right now." He told them.

"I'm too hungry. Start without me." Brock said.

"Me too." Misty agreed.

Ash sighed. He turned his attention back to the new phone and dialed Serena's number.

Serena's POV

Serena changed her clothes and brushed her teeth. As she walked out of her room, she turned to go over to Dawn and May's room and knocked. There was silence for a few seconds so she tried again. She waited a few more seconds until she heard a tired voice.

*Yawn* "Who is it?" The voice asked.

"It's me Serena. I came to wake you guys up." Serena answered.

"Oh. Okay. Hold on, let me wake up Dawn." May said.

Serena waited outside the door for a minute until it opened up.

"Good Morning Serena. Sorry for the wait. We're good now. Let's go!" Dawn flew out of the room and through the hall. May walked up to Serena.

"Sorry, she's really energetic in the morning nowadays." May told her.

"It's fine, but we better go now or we'll lose her." Serena giggled. They both went in the direction Dawn rushed off too. They went to Nurse Joy and asked for some breakfast. She went into the room behind her and came out with some pancakes and pokemon food. They all thanked her and sat in the waiting room. (Idk if Nurse Joy actually gives food, but let's just go with it :3)

"Alright everyone, come on out!" May and Dawn both said at the same time.

Multiple blue flashes of light came from their pokeballs and their pokemon came out. May's pokemon were Blaziken, Glaceon, Munchlax, Skitty, Ivysaur, and Wartortle. Dawn's pokemon were Piplup, Buneary, Pachirisu, Togekiss, Mamoswine, and Quilava. Serena had never seen most of these pokemon before.

"Wow! You have so many pokemon!" Serena said.

"What about you Serena?" Dawn asked.

"Come on out guys!" Serena said, calling out her pokemon. Braixen, Pancham, and Sylveon came out of their pokeballs.

"Wow!" May and Dawn said at the same time.

"I've never seen these types of pokemon before!" May said.

"Well, they're all Kalos pokemon, so they must be pretty rare here, aren't they?" Serena asked.

"Yeah, they are." Dawn answered. "Anyways, let's eat!" Dawn dug into her food and May and Dawn did the same. Their pokemon chatted with each other and so did they. 

"Hey Serena, did you travel with anyone on your adventure?" May asked.

"I have! They were all really great friends. They always supported me and helped me find my dream." Serena answered wholeheartedly.

May and Dawn both smiled. "We know that feeling too."

Just then, a ringing noise came from a phone nearby. "Calling. Serena Yvonne. Calling. Serena Yvonne." It repeated.

Serena walked over to the phone and read the screen. It read, "Pallet Town, Kanto." A happy smile grew across Serena's face.

"Ash!" She happily exclaimed.

Dawn and May looked at her, eyes wide in surprise. 

"Did you say..." May started.

"...Ash?" Dawn finished.

Serena didn't have time to answer because she answered to quickly. A face popped up onto the screen.

"Hey Serena!" Ash exclaimed.

"Hi Ash! Why're you calling right now?" Serena asked, keeping a happy smile on her face.

"Oh, well, I wanted just wanted to call you, but some of my friends wanted to meet you." Ash turned around. "Hey guys, hurry up! She's right here!" He shouted.

While Ash's attention was on the people behind him, Dawn and May slid up next to Serena so that they could see the screen. Serena looked at them both confused.

When Ash turned around to look at Serena again, he noticed two girls next to her this time. As soon as he set his eyes on them, he stared at them in shock. Two people came up to Ash.

"Okay! We're here now." A girl said, clearly annoyed. The girl wore her red hair in a ponytail on the side of her head and had a sleeveless top with suspenders on. A guy next to her wore an orange shirt and a green vest and had spikey hair. As soon as they looked at the screen, they froze in place like Ash.

Serena stood in the middle of Dawn and May. She was very confused. "U-uhh, are you guys okay?" She asked. At that moment, all of them spoke at the exact same moment.

"May? Dawn?" Ash and the other guy said.

"Ash? Brock?" Dawn and May said.

(Just imagine Misty raising her eyebrows)

Serena stared at them all in shock. 'They know each other?'

"U-uhh... it looks like I'm intruding on something here, so..." Serena ducked away from the screen. She walked back to the table and sat down. As soon as she sat down, they all started speaking over each other and asking questions. Her pokemon stared up at her in confusion. Serena just shrugged. She didn't understand what was going on either. Somehow, they all knew each other.
