Chapter 30: Runaway And Don't Look Back

Maya and Liam were seen scrambling to leave their LA home in the early hours of the morning after the police had been there all night.  No one has come forward to say what happened but all we know is Maya and Liam are asking to be left alone during this time.

Simon stepped forward and asked everyone to keep Maya and Liam in their thoughts during the hard time; even though no one will say what happened we hope everything is alright for them.

Liam Payne gets rough with paparazzi after a rough night at home, no charges being pressed and Liam has apologized.

(12 hours earlier- Maya’s POV)

“Hey Lee, it’s me again, I set the alarm on the house paparazzi keeps trying to get passed the gate so when you get home just call me and I’ll unlock. Hope the interview went well! Love you!” I left the voicemail and then hung up the phone. I looked out the window and watched the same car try to get the gate open sit outside my house and just sit there across the street. It freaked me out.

??: You look great tonight!

I dropped my phone how did they get my number.  Soon my phone rang and luckily it was Liam.

“LEE! Are you coming home soon!?” I pleaded as I answered the phone.

“Yes,” He said with a laugh.

“Whoever is sitting at our house got my number and is texting some creepy stuff,” I said with a cringe.

“WHO IS IT?!” Liam went into instant panic mood.

“I’m not sure, just hurry home,” I pleaded.

“I will, we just left it doesn’t take long to get home from here. I’ll be there soon. I love you with all my heart,” He said and then hung up.

??: We should hang out before your future hubby gets home just let me in.

Maya: Liam, I’m calling the police…I’m freaked out.

Liam: No, don’t we don’t need that attention tonight, just wait until I get home.

I locked all the windows and doors in the house and grabbed a knife just in case the creep got past the gate somehow. Liam should be home in twenty minutes I can do this. I set down and turned on the TV.

??: If you don’t let me in you’ll regret it.

I did my best to ignore the text message, but I started to panic even more. “Please hurry home, Lee,” I whispered to myself.

Liam: I’m trying my best to get on our street but it’s all blocked off with caution tape.

Maya: Why?  I haven’t heard any sirens all night.

Liam: They aren’t letting me through, I’ll try to explain what’s going on.

??: I hope you like it toasty in your house.

That’s when I knew whoever this was had drawn the cops to my house to watch the show they were about to put on.

Maya: Whoever this is going to set the house on fire.

Liam: Maya, stay calm. We are on our way.

??: Sorry princess.

I tried to move but I was stuck I didn’t know what to do. I started to see the smoke through the windows. I had to get out of the house, before it was too late.

(Liam’s POV)

“Officer you don’t understand! That’s my house and my fiancée is in there! She has been getting text messages from this creep all night!” I yelled. “Sir, please it’s too dangerous for you to go in there we’ll get here out,” the officer assured me. When we finally got to the house I saw the car Maya had been talking about. I instantly ran over to it and started pounding on the hood, but no one was inside, instead a note which read.

What done is done if it doesn’t work tonight my group and I will be back soon to make sure it’s done for sure.

“Who is the creeper?!” I yelled. The officers ran over to me and I handed them the note. The fire was starting to grow and the fire department just had arrived at the house. “You need to call her and stay on the phone with her until we can get in there!” The officer yelled. I nodded and called Maya and put it on speaker.

“Maya! Are you okay?!” I exclaimed when she answered the phone I didn’t even give her time to answer.

“No…I’m….scared….terrified….it’s so hot in here….I can’t breathe…” Maya mumbled.

“Stay low to the floor it’s cooler there, remember heat rises! They are sending someone in to get you now! Where are you?” I asked her.

“The living room…hurry Liam hurry!” She cried. You could hear the terror in her voice. I knew she was in tears and I wish I could be the one to save her, but I knew it was too dangerous.

“They are coming in now, but please stay on the phone with me until you are safe okay?” I told her.

“I don’t know if I can Liam,” she cried.

“And why not?”  I asked her.

The fire wasn’t too out of hand but still enough to scare someone and I knew that’s how Maya was. I had to wonder know how long these people were following her. She had been getting weird text messages, phone calls, and tweets for about two months now or ever since she came home from Nebraska when she visited Carter.

Soon I saw The firefighters emerge out of my phone with Maya she was coughing and gasping for air. I looked at the police officer and he must have known what I want because he nodded with a smile. I ran over to Maya and hugged her as tight as I could.

(Present Time- Maya’s POV)

“We thought you two would like more living space so we cleaned the basement,” Karen told us. I smiled at her thanking her without any words. “Thanks mum, but my room would have worked,” Liam assured her. “It’s no problem, Liam, we just want you the two of you to feel safe and comfortable while you stay.” She assured us.

We thanked her again and walked down to the basement. There was a mini kitchen set up  in the main room with a living space as well. There was a bathroom off down the hall and a bedroom off the main room.

“Welcome home my love,” Liam joked as he picked me up. “Put me down you goon,” I laughed. Liam eventually put me down and we set our bags in the bedroom. “There is a venue here I would love you to see,” Liam informed me. “Can we take a break from wedding talk for a day?” I asked him as I flopped down on the bed.

“I guess that sounds nice,” he chuckled. “Well, good,  I just want to relax,” I said with a yawn. I crawled up head of the bed and covered up. “You sleep and I’ll unpack,” he offered. “You should come cuddle with me,” I whined.

He chuckled to himself as he crawled in bed with me. I cuddled up next to him as he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close. Soon I drifted to sleep and I felt safe for the first time in a while.

(Harry’s POV)

The guys and I went to Liam’s house to salvage what we could. Paul and Simon met us there. “Did they get what they needed?” I asked. “I think so, Maya, seemed to shook up at the time to gather much, but Liam said he would buy new if he need too,” Paul told us. “I would really like to know who these creeps are,” Niall huffed as we walked into the house. “I’d like to have a little talk with them,” Zayn commented.

As we all split up to pack up the house I found myself wondering around not really doing my part. I opened up a closet and there were boxes labeled, “Carter Memories”. I told myself I shouldn’t open just take them to the car, but I couldn’t help myself. I pulled one of the boxes off the shelf and set it down on the floor. I opened it up and found tons of pictures of Maya and Carter.

You could tell just by looking at the pictures how in love they were. “Haz, where are you?” I heard Niall ask. “Down here!” I yelled as I flipped through more pictures. “I didn’t even know there was a hallway over here,” Niall stated as he walked up. “They were in love,” I mentioned.

“Who were in love?” Niall asked. I showed him one of the pictures. “Do you think Liam knows about this stuff?” Niall asked as he took the picture.

“He has too or I don’t think she would keep it at the house,” I told him. “Look at how she looked at him. He was her world,” Niall said in awe.

(Maya’s POV- Her Dream)

“Maya, I won’t anyone hurt you,” I heard Carter tell me. “You won’t?” I asked him. “Never in a million years,”  He smiled at me. “Where are we?” I asked him. I looked around and I didn’t recognize anything. “You are in your future,” he told me. I soon heard a car honk and I turned around.  I saw Liam carrying a little girl who looked about three, she looked just like him. “She’s beautiful, isn’t she?” Carter asked me. “Is that my daughter?” I asked him. Soon we were standing in a kitchen I saw myself cooking while a little boy played with some cars at the dining room table. “Twins, something you always wanted,” Carter mentioned. I watch as Liam brought the little girl in and set her down. He walked over to me, well the me cooking, and gave me a kiss.

“We look so happy,” I said in awe.  “You guys are happy,” Carter said with a smile. “But I’m confused…is this my real future? And why are you showing me this?” I asked him. “Alright, I’ll have to show you to explain to it to you,” He said. I nodded and soon we were standing at his grave I saw Chase sitting there next to the gravestone tears all over his face.  Soon I walked up to him. “What’s wrong going on?” I asked him. “Just watch.” He said. I watched myself go up and hug Chase. I told him something but I couldn’t hear what I said. “What did I just tell him?” I asked Carter.

“You told him you and Liam were moving to Nebraska,” Carter informed me. You could see how happy Chase was about the whole thing. “But why did we move back? What about Liam’s career?!” I shouted but Carter was gone.
