Chapter 23: WAIT! Who?!
09:15, 1 August 2014(1 week later- Maya’s POV)
I was headed to the airport to pick up Serra. I was so excited to finally see her again and we get to spend a whole month together. Besides the tour this was the longest we have ever been apart. Serra and I grew only two years apart and we had been besties every since I could remember. Liam will probably hate us by the end of the visit. I knew we would have to meet Liam for cake tasting after I picked her up but Serra is my maid of honor so she was all for it.
“Maya! Maya! When is the wedding? Where is it going to be? Will Carter’s family be attending?!” The paps yelled questions as I walked into the airport. I would love to know who tipped them. “You brought the whole crew, huh?” Serra joked as she walked up to me. “Yeah, we go everywhere together. We’re practically family!” I joked. After we got her bags we headed to my car.
“We have to meet Liam but we can drop your bags off if you would prefer,” I offered. “That would be great! I need to fix my hair,” She tells me. “You look a little rough,” I joke.
(Liam’s POV)
“So, Serra is in town?” Harry asked me during rehearsal. “Yeah, for a month or so,” I inform him. “Sweet,” He mumbles to himself. “Dude, that’s Maya’s cousin!” Niall exclaimed. “So, I can still look,” Harry snapped. We all laugh. “Alight, that’s get working!” Paul exclaimed. “But Paul I have to go,” I told him. “Right, I forgot,” he sighs. “I’ll bring them back here in a couple hours and we will run the show again!” I yell as I run out the door.
Liam: just left the studio…sorry if I’m late don’t hate me! XOXO
Maya: I already hate you don’t worry. Just kidding it’s fine don’t go all racecar driver trying to get here on time! Love you too.
I laughed at Maya’s text as I drove to the bakery. I knew she hated when I drove faster than the speed limit, but sometimes it was worth the risk. When I turned on the radio I was in for the surprise of a lifetime.
“Only Maya Hudson would say that she might be pregnant again before what should be her second wedding. Hear the inside scoop after the break,” The radio anchor said.
There is no way Maya is pregnant…is there? I mean no…there can’t be…
(Maya’s POV)
“Wait..Maya..you’re pregnant?!” Serra exclaimed as I changed the radio station. “NO!” I cried. Whoever stayed that false story was going to get a piece of my mind. “Who would have said that?” She asked me. “I’m not sure, but my guess is Lee has heard it by now and he is going to go crazy,” I sighed.
Before I had a chance to figure out what I was going to do my phone rang. I looked and saw it was Liam, so I decided it would be safer if I pulled over on the side of the road to answer this call.
“Hey, babe,” I said when I answered it.
“Please please please tell me this is not true,” he begged.
“No, it’s not, but I’m glad I now know how you feel about children,” I huffed.
“No, it’s not that. I want children trust me I do, just not yet,” he whined.
“Okay, I get that, but I need to get back on the road so we are both not late,” I told him and hung up.
“Is everything okay?” Serra asked me sounding very concerned. “Yeah, he’s just overwhelmed with everything,” I assured her. When we pulled up to the bakery Liam was waiting. “I figured I’d win,” He joked as he walked over to us. “Yeah, ‘cuz you’re some crazy racecar driver!” I joked. “Hey, Liam,” Serra said. “Hey there Serra! Nice to see you finally!” Liam cheered. The three of us battled the mob of cameras as we walked inside.
“It’s so nice to finally be able to sit down and get this started!” Michelle, the woman who was going to make our cake, exclaimed. “I’m so ready!” I assured her. “Can our wedding cake be an ice cream cake?” Liam asked me. Serra laughed and Michelle just stared at him. “Are you serious?” I asked him.
“Yes, I want something different so everyone remembers our wedding,” Liam said with a nod. “We’ll talk about this later,” I told him. We tasted so many options I couldn’t remember all the names, but let’s just say some were better than others. “What one is your favorite?” I asked Liam. “Hmm, that’s a tough one,” He shrugged. “Go with red velvet!” Serra chimed. Michelle laughed. “What if we do different tiers with different flavors?” Michelle suggested. “Perfect!” Liam and I said at the same time.
After about an hour we were done at the bakery and we went out to lunch. “Where should we go?” Liam asked me. “Chinese!” I exclaimed. “Again?!” Liam whined. “Okay, okay not Chinese,” I whine. Serra just laughs. “What do you want to eat?” Liam asked Serra. “Hmm, pizza?” She suggests. “Sounds good to me!” Liam chimes. We walk to a nearby pizza place and ate lunch. “So, Paul wants us to go back to the studio so we can run the show,” Liam informs me. “Sounds good, I bet Serra would love to see everyone again,” I say as I smirk at her. “Sounds good to me, I’m in need for a good laugh,” Serra said.
Harry: Oh Maya!!
Maya: Yes, Harold?
Harry: We miss you!
“Maya, did you get that message I left on the counter this morning?” Liam asked me. “What message?” I asked him. “I set it next to your water bottle,” he told me. “I forgot my water bottle so I didn’t get it,” I informed him. “Oh, well your mom called she needs you to call her,” he tells me. I look at Serra who just shrugs.
“Was it important?” I asked Liam as he pays the check. “She didn’t say,” he shrugged. We followed Liam back to the studio and when we walked in everyone just stared at us. “She’s here,” I hear Harry whisper to Liam. Liam scurries out of the room and into the hall. “Who is here?” I asked Harry.
“Oh, hey Maya! You look lovely today!” He chimes blocking my view of the hallway. “Did you cut your hair?” Niall asked standing next to Harry. “Or did you do a new makeup look?” Zayn asked standing on the other side of Harry. “What is going on!” I cried. “Guys, let her go,” Louis walks up and sighs.
They hesitated at first but then moved aside so I could get through. Paul took Serra so I could go find out what the heck was going on. All I could think of was that Liam had been cheating on me this whole time and the mystery girl was his side chick who I was never suppose to see and somehow she got her times mixed up and now we all get to meet.
(Liam’s POV)
“Didn’t I tell you to stay away!” I yell. I look at Jane who looked scared. “Why did you even come back here? Stop texting us and leave us alone!” I cried. “Liam, she wouldn’t answer me I had to come here and talk to her!” She pleaded. “No, you can’t just act like you never hurt her before and think she is going to put you back into her life and everything will go back to normal, but that’s not going to happen. Come on Jane get real!” Tears fell from my face and I leaned up against the wall. I couldn’t take her anymore, I need her gone. The constant texting, the phone calls, the emails, the Facebook messages, and everything else it was getting ridiculous.
“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone I never did, but she made me so mad! She left me behind she stole my dream! I thought I had to do something to make her feel my pain, but I have changed I promise!” Jane pleaded. I shook my head in disbelief. “You haven’t changed, I know for sure you started that pregnancy rumor, you would do anything for that cash!” I cringed. Instantly Jane’s face told me everything I needed to know. She looked like a deer does right before you it meets your car. You know the look it does when you blind the poor thing with your headlights? That scared to death look. The look that you show when your life is about to change forever, that’s the look she had on her face.
“Please! Please! Don’t tell anyone, I lost my job and I needed the cash, come on Liam,” she pleaded. “No, I don’t want to hear it,” I hushed her. “I promise that was my last time,” Jane assured me. “Lee, what is going on here?” Maya insisted as she rounded the corner.
“Maya, you shouldn’t be back here,” I informed her. “Why not?” She asked. Before I could answer she turned on her heel and saw Jane. “What is she doing here!” I cried. “I was just telling her to go,” I huffed. “Please get her out of here,” Maya begged. “I just need to talk to you,” Jane told her.
(Maya’s POV)
I looked at Jane I wanted to say something but I couldn’t get the words to come out of my mouth. “Maya, please just talk to me,” She begged. “Go,” I practically whispered harshly. “But, Maya, we are family,” She reminded me. I laughed rudely in her face. “If we were family you would have never done what you did! Didn’t you hear me before? LEAVE!” I yelled.
She didn’t move she just stared at me. “You ruined every single chance you ever had being family with me! You set me up for failure, but jokes on you I made it out better than before! That must really hurt, your little plan didn’t even work, so you can leave now like I said before! I can’t even wrap my mind around the idea of saying you are part of my family, because you have no right to be a part of it. My mom might have let you move in and mooch off of them but I’m not her nor will I ever be. You can wipe that sorry little look off of your face because it is not going to save you!” I snapped.
Before I knew it Jane shoved me into the wall. As my head smacked the wall, making the loudest noise I have ever heard, I could faintly hear Liam yell before it all went black.
*She’s baaaaack! Yeah no one saw that coming did you? Sorry it has been so long I have been very stressed and working overload, but as some of you know I got to see Gary for a little bit tonight and it was the best car ride in a terrible thunder storm I have ever experienced, even though we thought we were going to die!
