19 - diamonds are forever
04:50, 17 April 2015"Let me know exactly when it hits 8:30," I said lowly into the phone to Alisha.
"Okay you have like nine seconds though, girl."
I moved my rotated my left ankle around as I waited, leaning against the door. Considering whatever this surprise was I wasn't sure if I needed to take these nearly-stripper-height heels off in case my fight or flight response kicks in.
"Three, two, one. Go."
I turned the knob and abruptly opened the door, causing Michael to pull away from her, eyes wide as a deer in headlights. I covered my mouth wanting to scream but I was too paralyzed.
"Gi-gi-gigi-Gia?!" was all Michael could stutter, face as shocked as mine. Lisa giggled and buried her head in his chest, fingers tracing down his shirt buttons. He shoved her off as if it made a difference. I saw what I saw. Her tongue stuffed down his throat, fingers tangled in her hair, the other caressing her waist underneath her shirt.
My legs turned around to exit before my adrenaline kicked in faster than my logic. Before I could go, he ran up behind me and wrapped his strong arms around my waist to restrain me, causing my legs to spasm in the air, my heel hitting the plants across the room. "Gia, it's not what you think it is! Lisa, get out!"
"Get off of me, Michael!" My head turned to Lisa who was finding my temper tantrum hysterical as she was walking out of the door. I pulled off my other heel and aimed it at the back of her head, but it only hit the door as she slammed it shut and was gone.
"It's not what you think it is. Baby stop" he repeated from behind me, holding both of my arms down to him while.
"Get the fuc--" my screaming was muffled by his palm covering my mouth, shushing me as my tears streamed over his fingers, the back of my head pushed into his chest.
"Just let me explain, please." His lips brushing on the side of my forehead, trying to give me consoling kisses. "I love you. I do."
I bit my teeth hard into the palm of his hand, causing him to curse in pain but still held on. "You can do that all you want but I'm not letting you go. Just let me talk."
As a last resort, I ceased my sounds and stood still. As I expected, he finally released his arms off of me and sprinted out of the door barefoot to his garage where the car were waiting.
"Giovanna!" Michael yelled but I was already in the backseat.
"Drive," I called out to the front. The car went into reverse and was soon out into the street. "Go to Neverland. Los Olivos."
I closed my eyes as the car pulled off. My lips quivered as I tried not to shed any more tears on that man than I've already have. My phone goes off again and again and I know it's him. Mine my ass. Relationship my ass.
"Lisa? Out of all people?"
"Come back, please. Let me talk to you. It's not like that," he begged , his voice unsteady. "She kissed me!"
Even if she did, it didn't explain his hands exploring her, or the fact that he was even seeing her without telling me in the first place. "I don't care. You said you were mine. You wanted more than just a friendship, I gave you that. You wanted my heart and I gave you that! And you do this... typical bullshit!" I sobbed, curling my knees up to my chest in the seat.
"Gia, please. If you're not coming back then I'm on my way to your house right now."
"Too bad I'm not going to my house," I snarled.
"Then where are yo-" his voice came to a halt as he came to his realization. "No... you are not taking him."
I slammed the cellphone shut and stared to the side of all the cars we were passing as Brock was pushing the speed limit. I caught him looking at me from the rear view mirror with sympathy in his eyes. He's such a teddy bear in the inside. But he remained silent as he always does, something I appreciate. Just let me vent and don't ask me what's wrong.

We approached the Neverland gates and Brock honked repeatedly. No answer, even though I knew his security was right there.
I got out, my feet dragging across the dirt as I walked in front of it eying the man posted through the bars. "This is Giovanna! Let me in!"
"Ms. Wolf, you have to wait. Michael told us he was on his way. By the time, he should be here any minute now," he said, looking like he wasn't planning to move.
I cut my eyes at him. "Listen you incompetent son of a bitch, my baby is on the other side of these bars and if you don't give me access through these goddamn gates I will get the police over here so quick. And it will make the news."
He studied my face to see if I was bluffing. I wasn't. The gates opened as I stepped back into the car and proceeded to the front door of the house. I ran up the stairs to the nursery and found Brittany bouncing Aiden in her lap in the rocking chair, his eyes glued to the television despite how it was clearly his bedtime. Her own weary eyes fixed on me with a worried expression. "What happened?"
"Why did you tell me to come at 8:30? How did you know she was there?" I questioned, very suspicious.
"I overheard Michael talking about it to a friend. He said he was probably not going to make it back to the house by 8 because of the dinner so he had to see Lisa at 8:30."
"How did you know the door will be unlocked?"
"They don't work. He had me call a repair company to come fix it tomorrow under my name."
Aiden looked up at me from Brittany's lap, sucking on his pacifier and raised his arms for me to pick him up.
"Hi baby boy," I lifted him in his arms and kissed his plump cheeks. "Bye Brittany," I said dryly as I grabbed his baby bag and left back out to the car, passing Michael's coming in. He lowered the window down to say something but my car never hesitated, which made his car do a u-turn.
I reached in Aidens baby bag and got out his blanket to go to sleep in his car seat for the ride back to Los Angeles.
"He's behind us," Brock commented from the front. I twisted my body to glance at the rear window, watching his driver do all kinds of maneuvers to keep up with us and stay on our tail.
Fortunately, we passed some nearly red lights causing his wheels to screech to a halt at the stop signs as I escaped.
This was the exact reason I didn't want to be with Michael in the first place. I thought I was different from the past women but no, that I meant more to him likes he's begged me to realize.
Crying about the depth of his love for me over the phone, moaning it to me against the groove of my neck as he pushed deeper inside, bringing tears to my eyes and stars in my vision. And then the next day yelling the words at the top of his lungs with his finger pointed in between my eyes. "Can you just shut up for a second and realize that I need you to function, Gia?! Haven't I made that fucking clear to you?!"
No. I see that I am just another.
Watching the black silhouettes of the trees flash by my eyes as we zoomed down the highway, I opened the window the backseat, feeling the warm air whip through my hairstrands. Without hesitation, I pulled the diamonds off of my left ring finger and tossed my engagement ring into the forest. It was gone, and I was free.
