Chapter 37: The Wedding Part 4-Thanos Takes Matters Into His Own Hands

Elizabeth's P.O.V.

I was pacing back and fourth in my room questioning if Loki escaped Thanos. As the minutes ticked by I was starting to become more and more worried about Loki. I've only known him for a short period of time but he has treated me differently than everyone else. He actually worried about my safety and wellbeing, he teased me all the time, he always tried to help me even when I claimed I didn't need him, and he's always been there for me. Over the last two months I have slowly been falling in love with Loki and I started to care for him, but my time with him is over for I know what is to come. As long as Loki is safe I will continue on with my plan.

I opened a compartment in the desk in my room and grabbed the knife I hid in there a few dinners ago. I hid the knife in my bouquet of flowers and sighed. I am going to save millions of lives but at a great cost. After I double checked my appearance in the mirror I heard a knock on my door. Since the door was locked I couldn't answer it. I heard a rattling sound of keys and a maid walked in.

"My lady the wedding is about to begin and Thanos sent me to escort you." She said.

I looked over my shoulder to the window before I started to walk out the door. The maid walked beside me as guards followed behind us. Two guards at the end held my vail to prevent it from getting wrinkled. As we walked down the hallways, all I could hear was the heels the maid and I wore. Usually brides are all excited and smiling as they are walking towards their fiancés, but I know I will only feel pain and guilt. I feel as if I failed myself and I'm scared for what has yet to come. The maid took me to a room connected to a ballroom. The maid lock the doors and the guards go through the doors into the ballroom. The only door that isn't locked is the one that leads to the ballroom where the wedding will commence. I wait for the doors to open, but they never do. Instead I see Clint fall right next to me face first.

"Way to go Clint you gave away our position." I heard Natasha say. I look up and see the avengers and Wade? Soon after they all jump down as well and start to rid the maid. I run over to Loki and Tony and give them a hug.

"I knew you guys would come for me." I said.

"Hey what about me." Wade said as I ran over and hugged him as well.

"What are you doing here Wade?" I said.

"You honestly thought these shit heads could find you without me." He said as I raised my eyebrows. "What its true we wouldn't be here without the portal I created which FYI was fun to ride."

"Well I'm glade you all came." I said.

"As am I." I heard Thanos say. I turned around and saw him at the door. He was dressed in his full armor and looked as if he could kill anyone with his glare. "You honestly thought you could hide from my security cameras and soldiers. It wasn't hard to find you in fact, I just wanted Elizabeth to say goodbye to all of you before you all die." He said as he pointed a gun to them.

"What's one gun gonna do to us?" Tony said. Then Thanos whistled and dozens of  guards armed with guns pointed at the avengers popped out of nowhere.

"You just had to ask." Steve said.

"Elizabeth I will ask you one more time come with me willingly or your friends will die." Thanos said.

"No, we can fight them Liz. We can win this thing." Tony said.

"I'm sorry." I said. "Thanos I accept your offer if I can say goodbye and see that they are brought back to their place without any injuries." I said.

"We have a deal. You have three minutes to say goodbye to them." Thanos said.

I nodded my head and walked to Natasha and Clint. I hugged them.

"You two watch out for each other ok? Don't let Clint watch any horror movies alone and make bets he knows he can't win." I said. Then walked over to Steve. I hugged him.

"I forgive you for killing my father and you were one of the sweetest gentlemen I have ever met. Don't change a bit." I said and walked over to Bruce and hugged him as well.

"You are no monster Bruce, I love you hulk and all and no matter what people say. Also watch out for Tony for me especially in the lab because when he loses someone he only hangs out in there and refuses to eat and sleep." I said then I walked over to Thor and hugged him.

"Thor, you are worthy of any women don't let Jane's dump ruin your love life. Watch over Loki will you because I know he may try to hide his feelings with illusions and masks he will feel the most pain." I said.

"You have my word Lady Elizabeth." Thor said as he let me go. I then walked over to Wade with tears in my eyes and squeezed him.

"Wade, you have been my best friend for the longest time and I know it's still hard to live without you know who but I know you'll find your place in the world. Just don't let the whole Xmen get on your back and don't die." I said.

"Alright, but I'll see ya in the party in hell." Wade said.

"You know it." I said smiling as tears fell down my face. I then walked over to Tony. He was looking at the ground and refused to look at me.

"Anthony Edward Stark look at me right now." I said as he looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "I know it seems hard right now but you have been the closest thing I've ever had to a father. You showed me how there is always light and how no matter how much shit you've done in your life you can always make up for it. I will miss you and I love you more than anything." I said as I cried.

"I love you magic girl." He said crying into my shoulder. I then backed up and went to the last person, Loki. I looked up at him and hugged him.

"Please don't do this." Loki said with tears in his eyes.

"I have to Loki to save you. I will miss you the most. I will miss you always teasing me, actually caring for me, and looking for me even if I'm not near you for a solid hour. I know that we have only know each other for two months but I love you Loki. You are the only man who has stolen my heart and even after all of this is over you will have it for all of eternity." I said.

"I love you too." He said as he leaned in and kissed me. This was my first real kiss and it felt like fireworks and was perfect until Thanos ripped me away from him.

"Times up. Time for the wedding." Thanos said. He looked at one of the guards and said "cuff them up and put them in the spare chairs in the back row."

I watched in horror as they were cuffed and dragged away. I could feel my makeup running and was watching them leave because I knew that was the last time I would get to talk to them and see them.

"Sweet heart your makeup is running and we have to start the wedding now." Thanos said. He spiced his magic and made my makeup perfect once again. He then grabbed his head general and told him that he would escort me to the alter. Here I was once again waiting for my cue but with an escort. The General grabbed my hands and waited with me.

When the doors open I didn't look at Thanos instead I looked at Loki and saw how crestfallen he was. I began to wonder what our wedding would've looked like since he planned everything. I wondered what future we would have and what we would've done together. Would we have stayed with the avengers or have a family and grow old, or would we have done both. Before I knew it, we were at the alter. The general let go of my hand as Thanos grabbed it. We stood with our backs facing the audience. The priest was short and looked a little nervous but continued on with his job.

"Now before we begin are there any objections?" He asked. I then grabbed the knife from my bouquet of flowers and shoved it up Thanos' throat.

"I object." I yelled after I let go of the knife.

He then ripped it out of his neck and saw blood pouring out of his neck. He tried to stop the bleeding as people started to come up from the audience and try to help but he started to choke on his own blood and snapped his fingers. I didn't know what was happening until I felt pain in my back. I looked behind me and saw a guard with a gun. The guard said "If he can't have you, then no one can." He then shot me again and again until I fell. I heard someone yell no before my ears started to ring.

I felt someone roll my body over and saw it was Loki. He was trying to tell me something but I couldn't hear him through the ringing. When the ringing went down I heard him.

"Hold on Elizabeth. Everything will be all right." Loki said as tears filled his eyes. "Banner get over here Elizabeth is injured and needs medical attention." He screamed.

"Loki..." I started to say.

"No. Shh. Hold your breath wait until Banner gets over here." Loki said.

"No, Loki I'm not going to make it. I'm running out of time." I said before I broke into a coughing fit. I looked down and realized I was coughing blood. "Loki look at me. I love you." I said and I kissed him until the darkness surrounded my vision.

Loki's P.O.V.

After she went limp in my arms during our kiss I knew she was dead. Everything inside me seemed to die. I felt nothing but pain and sorrow. I lost the only women who cared for me and I knew I would never find a women like her. Our wedding would have to be cancelled on Asgard after all my preparations and she didn't even get to see her dress or ring. I feel as if I failed her. I felt as if this was some kind of sick joke that Thanos did, but I know it's not. I look over at Thanos and see him lying there dead. At least Elizabeth got some revenge. I picked up her body and carried it over to the others who were still cuffed at their chairs. They took one look and broke. Tony crying the hardest out of the Avengers. I shed a few tears but wouldn't cry in front of the avengers. We decided to take Elizabeth's body back to the tower and have a proper funeral.
