Chapter Thirteen:
03:27, 4 June 2012Chapter Thirteen:
I woke up, pain radiating through my body. My hips and head were on fire. I couldn’t move, frozen in a numbing pain. I squeezed my eyes shut and clenched my jaw tightly to keep from screaming out.
“Kimi! Are you okay?” Sango appeared by my side, her hand resting on my forehead. I couldn’t answer. “Inuyasha!” I heard her gasp. In a flash Inuyasha appeared next to us.
His eyes grew wide as Sango drew back my shirt so they could see the bandages.
His hands moved quickly. Soon the bandages were off and they were staring down at my waist in shock. I snarled through barred teeth, glaring at them. Inuyasha blinked.
“Sorry, Kimi, you’re healing?”
I sent him a weird look. It came out as a grimace. He laughed weakly and explained. “Your waist, it’s scarring quickly. You’re almost completely healed!”
I groaned. Scar? I didn’t want an ugly scar around my waist. The pain seemed to escalate, Inuyasha and Sango held me down so I didn’t thrash out. I screamed, tears falling, and struggled blindly in their grasps.
Then it stopped.
All the pain vanished. I felt nothing. I stopped thrashing and froze, afraid to move.
“Whoa.” Sango blinked.
Inuyasha said nothing, just stared at my waist.
“Should I be scared?” I whispered.
“No! it’s not like a normal scar.” Sango smiled. I winced and stood up, painlessly, and lifted my shirt.
The scar wrapped around my waist in a wreath of vines. Tiny thorns and small leaves decorated the wreath. In a strange sense, it was beautiful.
“Ohhhh.” I groaned, sighing. I felt so defeated. Just because it was okay looking didn’t mean I wanted it! I pulled my shirt down over it and sat back down. Sango put a hand on my shoulder.
“Kimi, it wasn’t your fault. At least it isn’t ugly.” I nodded in agreement.
“I guess.”
Inuyasha rolled his eyes and stood, holding two hands out for us. We stood and started towards the camp.
“Why are we all the way out here?” I asked as I jumped on Inuyasha. He shifted me so I was on his back and then continued walking.
“Well, we were originally camped there but then that mangy wolf walked by and Kagome insisted on camping with him. Sango and I stayed with you, we didn’t want to move you.”
“Eww. Koga’s there?”
Sango nodded.
“Great. Ya know, I think Kags likes him.” I made disgusted face as we entered the clearing.
“You looked lovely, Kimi. Like something was just shoved up your ass.” Koga smiled at me sweetly. I smiled back, gritting my teeth together at the comment.
“Thank you. I’m so sorry but I’m afraid I can’t say you look much better. You’re still the stupid disgusting flea bitten wolf from before.” I grinned sweetly. Inuyasha bit his lip to keep from laughing.
“Still got that annoying attitude.” Koga rolled his eyes, turning back to Kagome to finish their conversation.
I rolled my eyes and climbed down from Inuyasha’s back and sat down on some rocks next to Miroku and Sango. We were a little way away from Kagome and Koga. I was getting some strong crush vibes from that area. I’ll investigate later.
Inuyasha sat next to me and we started discussing where to go next.
I jumped when Sango slapped Miroku. Miroku fell off the rock, a bright red handprint on his cheek. Sango glared at his fallen form, shaking slightly and blushing.
“You pervert!”
I laughed lightly, glad that he hadn’t tried to touch my butt, and high-fived Sango. Miroku crawled back onto the rock, holding a hand to his cheek. Inuyasha shook his head.
“You never learn monk.”
I heard a giggle. I glanced over my shoulder and watched as my cousin flirted up a storm with Koga. I nudged Inuyasha.
“Aren’t they cute?”
“No.”
“What? How can you say that? They look so happy together!”
He rapped his knuckles against my forehead lightly. “This is Koga we’re talking about. How can anything that has to do with that mangy wolf be ‘cute’?”
I laughed and pushed him off his rock.
“Ow! Bitch.”
I grasped one of his ears in between two fingers, pulling him towards me.
“OWWWWWW!” He squirmed, trying to make me let go of my death grip.
“What did you just call me?” I smiled down at him, a sickly sweet smile, and stopped pulling to wait for his answer.
“I…I said you were the most amazing person in the world!”
“Mhn, that’s what I thought you said.” I released his ear and he shuffled away from me, holding his poor ear.
“Pain.”
I kicked him, again knocking him over.
“Ahh so I see the mutt is being put in his place?” Koga and Kagome walked over and joined us, holding hands.
I stared down those hands as I retorted. “Yeah, wolf, you’re next.” I moved my green eyed gaze up to my cousin. She gave me a sheepish look and blushed. “Mhn.” I folded my arms across my chest, waiting for her to explain.
“So…you guys…I’ve been thinking…I think Koga should join the group!” Kagome pressed her lips together in a tight line and waited for my reaction.
“HELL NO!” Inuyasha snarled, glaring at Koga.
Koga stood up, chest to chest with Inuyasha, and growled. I stood and stepped in between them.
God, I hate being short. I only came up to their shoulders. Luckily, I have a very powerful/LOUD voice.
“SIT DOWN.” Inuyasha and Koga both sat down on their rocks simultaneously. I glared at both of them. “We are a team. T-E-A-M. Got it? We work TOGETHER. Especially on things like this. Inuyasha you’ve already voiced your opinion. Both you and Koga are not allowed to talk. GOT IT?”
Inuyasha and Koga sulked quietly, valuing their lives, and I turned around to face everyone else.
“Miroku. What do you think?”
Miroku took a sip of his tea before answering.
“Honestly, I have no qualms with Koga.”
“Miroku. It’s a yes or no answer.”
Miroku sighed. “Yes.”
“Sango?”
“We didn’t exactly start off good. I’m sorry Kagome but I say no.”
“Shippo?”
“As long as he doesn’t eat me then yes.”
I sighed. Three yeses and two nos. I looked to Kagome, watching her squirm under my gaze as I thought. She seemed happier when Koga was around. But I thought she liked Hojo? My eyes narrowed.
“Kagome. Come with me for a moment please.” I turned and walked towards the woods, not looking back to see if my cousin was following me.
“Yes?”
“One word. Hojo.”
I heard my cousin sigh softly and I turned to see her lean against a tree. “I don’t know. I just…don’t like him as much as Hojo.”
I gave her a sharp look. I don’t exactly like people who like and lead on more then one person.
“I hope to stay here in the future. But if I can’t then I’ll stay with Hojo…”
“Have you ever thought about maybe Koga will go with you into the well? What if he and Hojo meet? Hmm?”
My cousin’s eyes widened. “You’re right…”
“You need to choose, Kags.”
“I choose Koga. You’re right, he can live in both times and I like him more.”
I sighed and nodded, turning back towards the group. “Come on, let’s get back.”
I was stopped by a hand squeezing my shoulder. “Kimi?”
“Hnm?”
“I really think you should consider Inuyasha as…well more then a friend.” I turned back to her, giving her a weird look.
“What?”
“I think you should date Inuyasha.” She pressed her lips together tightly.
I burst into laughter. “Hahaha, Kags you’ve gotten funnier.”
Kagome smiled and shook her head. “I’m serious Kimi. You guys would be perfect for each other.”
I rolled my eyes as she walked ahead of me. She looked at me over her shoulder. “Kimi…you should think about it. I can tell you really like him and I know he cares for you more than anyone else in the group.”
And with that she turned around and walked back out to the group, leaving me behind to hide my blush.
