Smg4 Fanfiction: Crystal Splezter - The Final Piece

Plot: With Mario in Zero's corrupted grasp, Smg4 must hope for a miracle as the final battle draws closer...

The moment Mario was taken by Zero, all hell broke loose. He dragged Smg4 down and brought in Smg3 from the internet graveyard to enact his master plan...

And revealing Axol as his puppet to do so...

In his new mangled appearance, he trapped Mario and the Smg's in Smg3's USB, leaving them to be saved by Smg1 and 2 after they'd been trapped themselves after Zero's first defeat. The two taught Smg4 and 3 to make stuff with meme energy by...reluctantly holding hands.

But when they tried to escape with a plan using Meme energy that went terribly wrong...so did everything else.

All 4 of the Smg's were thrown from the USB and onto the floor as Smg4 looked up to a haunting sight.

Mario was unconscious, floating midair and surrounded by light and all 4 USB's. Smg4's, Smg3's, Smg2's and even Zero's own we're all their.

Speaking of Zero...

The evil virus stood above it all on the roof of the castle. The bastard had stolen Axol's body and morphed it to his liking, Axol's teeth sharpening and his head now featuring horns joined in the shape of a zero. The skin around his right eye was decayed, possibly beyond repair.

Eldrich Axol: Oh, you're all still here.

Smg4: Mario, we'll get you out!

Smg1: I know that's you zero! Release Axol, he has nothing to do with this!

Eldrich Axol: Finally, after all these years...

Axol's corrupted body moved his hands forward as he started to glow red.

The USB's did the same as light surrounded Mario...

Eldrich Axol: I have an avatar of my own again!!

The USB's all pointed towards Mario, shooting orange beams of electricity that attached to Mario like a web. The plumbers eyes opened, but they were pure white and devoid of life.

Smg4: No, Mario!!

Smg2: If this goes on, Mario's going to die!

Smg1 threw 2 to try and grab Mario, but a Crystal chamber formed around him and knocked 1 back. Zero's eyes became fully white as a smile spread across his face.

Smg4: Mario...No...

Mario's skin was cracking apart as the process continued.

Eldrich Axol: With him...I can make everything just like how it used to be-

The sound of something coming towards him cut Zero off. Turning his head, he was instantly hit by the full force of a missile that exploded and sent him flying back. The process stopped halfway as Mario fell down.

In the Nick of time, Swag and Chris had saved Mario, riding a helicopter with the rest of the gang riding in it.

Swag: Swag back again to save the day baby!

Smg4: Guys!!

Smg2: Quick! Get Mario and hide!!

Smg4 and 3 nodded, grabbing Mario and running into the castle. The others jumped down and landed nearby Smg1 and 2.

Melony: Axol...

Desti: You weirdos need some help?

Smg1: Yes, I think that'd be much appreciated.

Swag: You came to the wrong house fool.

But from the smoke that cleared after the missile explosion...something much worse came...

Axol's entire body had changed to something from a horror movie. One eye became black and blue as the other became red with a big 0 in place of the pupil.

The skin around his eye and head fins was purple, parts of his body had become corrupted code and his torso was now a mess of spikes with an exposed ribcage. The biggest change was his right arm, having merged with his beloved Inkweaver to turn his whole arm into a club.

People like Meggy and desti were shocked, Some like Melony were rendered speechless and most were scared out of their minds. Crystal screamed in fear and hid behind Tari as Boopkins did the same.

But Bob...

Bob: Wow, he got even uglier!

Smg2: Zero! Release Axol at once!

Eldrich Axol: You can have him back, all I request is his avatar...

Swag: How about you suck on my avatar?!

Swag shot a row of missiles from the helicopter, but Zero used telekinesis to grab all of them and throw them at the tower behind him...

Swag: Oh poop.

Before Zero did the same to the helicopter and threw it into the ground. A crash was heard as Everyone dodged out the way and started regathering themselves, while Zero calmly walked to the castle.

...

Inside, Smg4 had Mario's unconscious body and was standing in his computer room in a panic. While trying to find a way to hide, he heard crashing from downstairs.

Zero used his Inkweaver arm to bash down every door in looking for Mario as he made his way upstairs. Smg4 made his plan go as fast as he could and slammed the chest shut, before Zero broke in.

He walked in the room, looking for Mario when Smg4's computer sprung to life. It started playing an Axolotl meme that distracted him long enough for Smg4 to run out the door with the chest. Roaring, Zero chased him.

Smg4 tried to find out his next move as Zero caught up and used telekinesis to grab toad from another room and throw him as a torpedo.

Smg4 threw the chest in the air as he dodged, grabbing the falling chest again. Enraged, Zero grabbed every toad in the castle and started shooting them like bullets.

Although Smg4 managed to dodge, he couldn't avoid what happened next. With a telekinetic grip, he grabbed Smg4 by the throat and lifted him in the air, choking him out.

Smg4: Okay, okay fine! Take him!

Throwing the chest on the floor, Zero dropped Smg4 as he walked to the chest with a smirk...

But when he opened it, Smg3 was their to shoot him with a gun. He jumped out as the attack caused Zero/Axol's head to turn a full 180.

Smg3: What a dingus! Mario's not here!

Smg4: We hid him! And you'll never find him-!

The pair instantly regretted their words as a tight invisible grasp came around their throats. Zero snapped his head back around with a scowl.

Saiko broke down the front door as everyone ran in, weapons ready.

Smg1: Let them go Zero! You're surrounded!

In response, he tightened his telekinetic grip on their necks.

Eldrich Axol: TELL ME WHERE HE IS NOW OR THESE TWO ARE DEAD!!!

Crystal: Uncle Axol, stop!

He turned his head with a glare, Crystal feeling hazy as her vision was glitched.

Eldrich Axol: I WILL END EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU AND BURN THIS CASTLE TO THE GROUND UNLESS YOU HAND HIM OVER TO ME!!!

Then suddenly, Zero felt a hand on his shoulder.

Melony: Axol...please...stop...we're your friends.

In an attempt to get through to Axol, Melony was hoping this would work as Zero slowly lowered his Inkweaver hand...

Then turned and kicked Melony back into a wall. Everyone looked in horror as Zero tried to finish the job...

Melony: Zero...

Melony rose to her feet, sword at the ready.

Melony: If you won't stop hurting my friend...then I'll hurt you!

Melony leapt and used her sword to grab Zero in a chokehold, forcing him to let go of Smg4 and 3. Zero threw Melony and threw her against the wall, going to attack when Meggy leapt and kicked him back.

Saiko came down for a hammer smash, but Zero threw her aside with telekinesis as Bob flew in.

Bob: Time for my super spicy pepperoni slicer move with extra cheese!

Zero leapt back up in time to block Bob's blade attack with his Inkweaver hand.

Smg1: Psst, guys! Follow me, I've got a plan.

Smg1 called Smg3 and 4 to follow them as the 4 Smg's walked outside.

Bob: Bring it you Boney b****!

Unamused, Zero grabbed Bob with telekinesis...

Bob: Ah crap, it was just a prank bro!

Then crushed him into a cube and kicked him away. Next, Boopkins, Luigi and Crystal ran in to do their...

Luigi, Crystal and Boopkins: Super friendship attack!

Which was really just the three of them all hugging His legs and begging Axol to come back.

Melony got back up, shooting energy rings from her sword that Zero dodged quickly as he threw all three beggars at her.

Eldrich Axol: Ugh, pathetic.

An attack from Desti from behind caught him off guard. He turned and grabbed her, trying to choke Desti with his remaining hand. Crystal ran and kicked Zero in the shin.

Annoyed, he threw Desti at Meggy and grabbed the child. Then, he looked at her curiously.

Eldrich Axol: You're code is different...your...an imperfection...just like me!

He threw her on the ground, scaring her as she tried to back away. She tried to get up and run, but her vision seemed to glitch as her head was aching.

Crystal: No! No, please! You don't have to do this! Uncle Axol, Whoever you are, just please stop! Please!!!

Meggy screamed as Melony got back up.

Melony: No more miss nice melon.

Putting on her "Hacker-woman" glasses, she ran over to the panicking Tari and hacked into her Meta program. Her arm suddenly turned into a rocket engine, shocking her completely.

Tari: I didn't know I could do that?!

Melony grabbed Tari and wrapped her into a grab hold.

Melony! Point your arm out!!

Doing so, Tari acted like a makeshift jet pack and boosted around the room. Zero started setting off midair explosion to try and hit them.

As this happened, Desti grabbed Crystal and threw the screaming girl across the room and into Meggy's arms.

Crystal: Mommy!

Meggy: It's okay Sunshine, I gotcha...

To distract and possibly save him, Luigi and Boopkins grabbed Zero's ankles and tried to call out to Axol again.

Eldrich Axol: What?! Let go of me you fools-!

Meggy: Now Crystal!

Mother and daughter together, Meggy and Crystal used their separate Splatter-shots and blinded Zero with orange juice. Melony and Tari came flying in from the side, blowing into Axol and knocking all 3 of them outside the castle.

And then, the moment of truth.

Melony raised her sword above her head, primed to strike at Zero. 1 strike to his neck is all it would take...

But as she stared down at him, all she saw was Axol's sorrowful face staring back at her. If She attacked...Axol and Zero would die together.

And even as she looked past that and saw the soulless, murderous eyes of Zero...

She couldn't do it...and they both knew it.

Eldrich Axol: Futile.

That one moment of restraint allowed Zero to send Melony flying into a tree, getting back up to finish her off-

Smg1: Alright guardians!

Quickly turning on his heels, Zero saw the 4 Smg's ready with their plan.

All four each stood on top of a USB, all primed and aimed at Zero.

Smg1: Commence reversal!

Typing fast onto computer's, everyone gathered around to see their plan.

Control sticks came from all the USB's as they aimed at Zero...

Smg1: Fire!!!

And they all fired Blue electricity at Zero in four different beams. Zero screamed as the power took its effect.

Smg2: We sealed you away once Zero, we can do it again!

Zero screamed in pain even louder.

Eldrich Axol: LET...GO OF ME! I JUST...WANT TO LIVE!!!

Zero collapsed on the ground. People could faintly see Axol beginning to separate from Zero.

Smg4: It's working! It's really working!

Melony: Axol...please come back to us...

Zero began to go quiet, but with his remaining strength, he grabbed ahold of Melony's ankle.

She became confused, before she suddenly turned blue as her vision began to phase out...

...

When she could see again, she was in a giant void like place that was absent of any life. Except for one...

Looking over, Melony was shocked as she saw Axol bound in chains. He wasn't moving...

Melony: Axol!!

She ran over in a panic, getting a closer look at him with a hand on his face. His skin had a faint green, meaning he was either sick or slowly being poisoned. His eyes fluttered open as he saw Melony.

Axol: Me...Melony?

Melony could barely hold back tears as she hugged him.

Melony: Axol!!!

Axol's body was completely wrapped in chains. The next thing that he said was proceeded by a horse cough.

Axol: (Cough) H-hey Melony, how've you been?

Melony: Don't worry about me silly! We've got to get you out of here!

She tried fiddling with the chains, trying to find a weakness.

Axol: You're...still trying to save me? Thanks...

He trailed off slightly, just barley able to stop himself from passing out.

Axol: Hey...do me a favor first? Look in my pocket.

Looking at his odd request, she found...one of his notebooks?

Axol: Open it.

Confused, she looked into the book...and saw what he had felt for so long...

The two of the, watching the fireworks together...

Axol stuttering as he tried to speak...

Then silent as he blurted out that he loved her...

And the rest was unfinished...he never got an answer back...

Melony looked back up at Axol in shock, looking as if he was on his last bit of energy.

Axol: Thank for everything...Melony.

And then, Axol passed out as the void began to pull him further away...

Melony: No, Axol! Wait!!

She kept running after him, but she couldn't move fast enough.

Melony: Axol?! I'm going to save you!! Axol!!!!!!!!

She reached out a hand...right as her vision faded to white.

...

When she came back to reality, she had Axol's notepad in her hands and Zero was still being zapped by the Smg's.

But something went wrong...

As his eyes flashed and his while body glowed scarlet, he roared in rage as a shockwave sent the energy flying right back at the USB's. The impact sent all the Smg's flying into the air as Zero rose to his feet.

Eldrich Axol: GET AWAY FROM ME!!!

Letting out a demonic roar to the skies, Zero was done playing games. As the clouds turned a sinister shade of blood red, chains flew from every window of the castle. The Smg's were trapped and smashed into the floor as the chains trapped everyone else.

Zero jumped into one of the windows, coming back with the unconscious Mario as his prize.

Smg4: No, Mario!!!!!

Luigi: Mario!!!!!

Bells tolled as Zero laughed, Returning Mario to his position and re-commencing his earlier ritual. As Mario was trapped again in a Crystal prison, the gang could only wonder what was happening.

Eldrich Axol: It's time...

Mario's Crystal rose to the sky, letting out a flash of light. A strange blue wormhole portal appeared in the sky above the castle.

In the city, police sirens rang out as everyone was put on high alert. The people on the streets were converted into volatile meme energy and drawn to the portal like flies to a bug zapper.

Smg3: What...what is happening?

Smg1: He's...he's making a new universe!!

Everyone's jaws dropped.

Smg1: I don't believe it. That's been his plan this whole time!

Eldrich Axol: Yes, my own universe with my own avatar. Nice and peaceful...just like it used to be...

Smg1: Peaceful? You call this peaceful!? This universe will be destroyed!

Crystal: Please, you don't have to do this! We didn't do anything to you!

Eldrich Axol: Always so sympathetic, you reminded me of someone...

Tari: And what about Axol?!

Eldrich Axol: (Scoff) You can have him back once I'm done.

Jumping up, Zero placed his remaining hand onto Mario's Crystal chamber. Electricity sparked into his body as the rest could do nothing but watch in horror.

Hissing like a snake as the power filled his body, Zero fell beck and fell into the castle ravine...

But what came back out was something from a nightmare.

Red energy burst from the ground alongside Axol/Zero's two gigantic hands as he rose. Hovering in the sky, his skin cracked even more and his head horns having a dream catcher between them. His lower half was completely gone, leaving only an exposed ribcage.

A smile spread across his face, as he unleashed a Godzilla like roar into the blood red sky...

And this time...Smg4 wasn't sure if they could win.
