Jihyo: Coffee

Jihyo x Reader

You hate working on this cafeteria but let's just say that you ended up there because your parents forced you to there were no other jobs available in town. All you do is patiently waiting for the season to end.

It wasn't that bad at the beginning, until you realized what kind of people your coworkers were. You seriously couldn't decide who you hated the most. They are probably treating you that bad because you're the only one who's new in here. Everyone else has been working here for ages and you're surprised about how they are dealing with each other's guts all these years.

"Smile, the customer should feel thankful when you're giving them their coffee, not scared." Your dear coworker just said. You two were in charge of the counter together for tonight and you just couldn't hate this night more.

You just faked an ironic smile at her and decided to not pick up a fight..again. You were more than tired of doing so.

You continued working and when you gave the next order you made sure to give a wide smile to the customer so that your coworker would shut up.

"That was too much" She said.

You wanted so much to curse at her at that moment but thankfully you heard another customer entering the building so you just let it go.

"How can I help you?" You asked the customer politely.

"Can I have a Cappuccino, please?"

You haven't looked at the customer until now. That cute voice you just heard made you wonder about who it belongs to. You froze for a second. Or maybe more. In front of you , there was a cute girl around her 20's with big brown eyes. She kind of looked familiar to you.

"Sure.." You answered late enough to feel embarrassed about it. You just wished your coworker wouldn't make a comment about this.

As you were making the cute girl's coffee, another customer came by so your coworker stopped stalking you and your working abilities.

You stole a quick look of the girl and noticed that she was looking at you. She didn't look embarrassed about it. In fact, she flashed you a smile out of a sudden and you thought that this is probably the only thing that made you feel good during work. Of course you didn't miss the chance to smile back at her. Damn. She really looks familiar.

The Cappuccino was ready and you were about to give it to the cute familiar girl. Little did you know that your beloved coworker was standing right behind you when you were turning around to serve the customer, which made you and the coffee literally bump into her. The hot coffee was now spilled all over you.

Suddenly your coworker started to act like an innocent 5-year-old who just broke her grandmother's vase because she even brought towels to help you with the coffee on your clothes. That was weird, but she was probably acting like that to leave a likeable impression to the two customers who were still waiting for their orders.

What surprised you even more, was the customer who came over to help almost immediately by bringing some tissues and helping with the mess.

When things got somehow better on your clothes, you started making a new coffee.

"Thanks for your help" You said to the cute girl. You could feel ever since she came over to help that your cheeks were turning red and you were pretty sure that it wasn't because of the hot coffee on you.

"This one will be my treat" You added.

"What? No- There's no need for you to do that" She insisted and you noticed that her voice was somehow louder than usual.

You convinced her and handed her her coffee.

"I made this one better" You winked. Oh god. Was that too cheesy?

"T-thank you.. have a good night!" She said while blushing?? Well at least that's what it looked like.

"Goodnight" You just replied as she was leaving.

You were too busy cringing and regretting about that cheesy wink at the end and you almost forgot that you were dead angry with your coworker and that you had to probably lecture her for spilling a coffee on you. That was definitely not your fault.

Finally, your shift was over. What a night.

Whenever your day is a little worse than just shitty, you like to clear your mind with a midnight walk across the river.

As you were enjoying your walk this time, you tried to forget about your job and your coworkers. You were walking and walking until you felt the need to sit somewhere.

You sat on a bench that you found a couple of moments later and just threw yourself on it and let out a sigh.

You noticed with the corner of your eye a coffee cup from the cafeteria that you were working thrown right next to the bench.

You just glared at it and something inside you wanted to stand up and kick it.

"H-hello" You heard a familiar voice tell, interrupting your angry thought about this coffee cup.

You turned around to face the cute familiar girl who saw you having a hot coffee spilled on you just a couple of hours ago. Great.

"Oh..Hey" You said. You totally got caught off guard. You didn't expect to see her again.

"The coffee was amazing" She smiled softly, causing you to do the same.

"I'm glad you liked it.." You said scratching the back of your neck, thinking that you feel kind of awkward. You also felt embarrassed about what happened on the cafeteria, so that maybe adds to it.

"Now that's the look someone has after a bad day" She said. She seemed like a social and confident type of person.

"Well you already saw what happened.." You smiled awkwardly.

"It's okay we all have our bad days" She comforted you.

"Besides, like I said, the coffee was great so I can already tell that you don't just spill coffees all the time" She said and you both laughed.

"Thanks" You said. There was a moment of silence and you decided take the chance and break it 'cause it was only making you feel more awkward.

"Hey, have we met before? I don't know.. you just look familiar.. for some reason." You said.

"I think i'd remember it if we met before." She replied. You weren't sure if she said it in that way but you 100% liked that thought when it crossed your mind.

"Well I'm pretty sure I've seen you before" You said and she released another beautiful smile of hers.

"That might be possible" She said with a smirk on her face. She saw your questioning look so she decided to just go for it.

"Do you know Twice? The girl group?" She asked and your jaw dropped. It now clicked to you, of course you knew Twice.

"DAMN IT. I KNEW IT, I SWEAR I COULD PICTURE YOU DOING THAT LIKEY DANCE.. OH MY GOD" you said a little bit faster for her to understand every word you said.

You then introduced yourself and then she did the same. Her name is Ji-Hyo and she's TWICE's leader. And beautiful.

"I like your name" She said and you blushed.

She then turned around as if she was looking for someone and when she realized that there was none around she turned back at you quite surprised.

"My friends were literally behind me but I don't know where they went now..I might kill them after this" She said and it was the first time you noticed that she was embarrassed. Does this mean that they left her with you for a reason? Nah, that's just another thing you'd just like to imagine.

"We can just go for a walk..I mean if you want to of course" You offered surprised that you actually found the guts to do it so simply.

"Sure yeah, let's take a walk" She agreed, always with a smile on her face.

You two spend hours together and returned back home when it was almost sunset.
