Chapter 34

A/NI lost my grandpa a few days ago so, I could not focus on writing this story that's why I haven't uploaded it in a little while when I promised you guys there would be a new chapter every day. :(

I opened my Wattpad account to lift up my mood just to read a couple of hate comments on my book and me, the author as well.

So, in courtesy, I had to reply back to teach this one a couple of things or three. I'm new to Wattpad and this is definitely a new experience for me.

I'm open to opinions regarding my book but, not hate comments who only know how to swear and downgrade someone thinking they look cool and amazing when they're just being plain stupid.

Critique the book, not the author. This is what we call proper manners.

And when I say critique, it's a careful judgment of the good and bad parts of the work.

To all the authors who have experienced getting hate comments, ignore them, they're not worth your precious time.

Anyway, here is the latest chapter you've been waiting for.

A green-haired girl sat alone by the end of a cliff, watching the river stream down from the waterfall. Her orange eyes flick upwards looking at the clear blue sky mesmerized.

She reached out her hands, imagining she was touching the birds that flew in flocks. A familiar voice broke her out of her trance then she looked back.

"Fuu-chan, will you help me hang these up?"

The green-haired girl smiled before nodding as she stood up. "Of course! Leave it to me, Matilda-san!"

"You're such a big help."

The child rubbed her neck as she looked fondly at the older woman.

Kakashi remained calm and poised despite the huge dark purple strands of chakra swirling inside the room he was in, breaking several windows. Pieces of glass shards were scattered everywhere as the girl in a hospital gown trashed around.

Several doctors and nurses were terrified as they watched from outside watching the scene through the glass window. Kakashi turned around and gave them an eye smile, startling the medics before he slid the curtain down, blocking their view.

"Now then.", Kakashi moved his eye towards Lhexi who was screaming in pain as she clutched the curse seal on her neck.

'She's having a delayed reaction. I'm relieved she could still hold herself back from hurting anyone despite being influenced by such an evil chakra.'

Both her knees are on the floor as her agonizing screech worsens when the black marks on her pale skin continue to spread all over her body.

"Calm down Alexa.", the man stepped towards her attempting to hold her down.

Kakashi observed her as he approached the girl, there was a different look in her eyes, not the one he had grown accustomed to these few weeks. It was dark, menacing, and with an alarmingly direful look. It was like a different person with the same face but, it was still her through and through.

"Don't come near me!", her voice was hoarse, venomous, and deleterious.

He stopped right in front of her before squatting down to her level.

"Mah, take a deep breath.", he gently placed his hand on her shoulder only to be smacked away followed by a wave of chakra.

"Don't touch me, you bastard!"

Kakashi was startled for a split second before he composed himself. Her speech was filled with hate and rather disturbing when compared to her eyes which were instilled with fear that surprised Kakashi.

He knows that look. He saw it countless times from his victims be they innocent or not, he practically memorized it already. He didn't want to imagine that there could be a possibility that she was one of them.

He pushed those thoughts away from his mind.

Lhexi placed her arms around her shoulders, embracing herself as she moved away. "G-go away! Don't hurt me! D-don't k-kill me...", she was whimpering in fear and Kakashi winced a little.

'Just what kind of horror had this child gone through?'

"Alexa you just have to trust me, no one's gonna hurt you here I promise.", his words were reassuring yet the girl didn't seem to believe him.

She shakes her head as she buries her fingertips on her scalp, pulling her hair harshly. "N-no! NO! H-he said the same thing...t-that man...p-promised me...b-b-but he k-killed them...he killed all of them!"

The man's single eye widened when he met her deep lavender eyes, all innocence gone just a traumatized child who can't wake up from her nightmare.

"I-I won't trust anyone...I-I can't...", a single tear escaped from her right eye. "I-I'm s-scared..."

Kakashi felt a sharp pang of pain stab his heart when he watched the girl sob as tears well down her pure face that was scarred by her past. He didn't understand why at that moment, he felt guilty for reasons unknown.

He gave her a reassuring smile as he placed his hand on top of her head. "Don't worry you're fine now."

As soon as those words escaped from the silverette's lips, Lhexi stopped crying and she looked up to see the man she feared before in a different perspective.

The black marks around her skin slowly dispersed, returning back to the seal on her neck. Kakashi was relieved when she calmed down.

Her mouth was slightly agape, her eyes wide as they shone like they found a new hope. She looked down as her abyss lilac orbs fluttered close.

Kakashi remained still a bit of sweat rolling down from his forehead to the side of his face when the girl didn't give much of a reaction afterward.

"A...lexa?", he called. "Are you alright? Do you feel anything weird with your body?", he asked slightly worried.

His hands moved frantically around, he didn't know what to do at the moment so he just gave her some time for peace of mind. He smiled through his mask as he gave her a gentle look.

Unbeknownst to Lhexi, Kakashi had been secretly watching over her from a distance. Call it suspicious or weird, there's a certain reason behind it.

He have been looking over her for years now ever since he found her training alone in the forest when she was younger. He still wonders why he grew attached to the child when they barely talked and he doesn't even give a damn to people he doesn't even know.

Let's just say that Alexa was an exception.

He finds out later that she lives alone, and eats alone in an expensive apartment, and he wonders how she could afford the rent as a 10-year-old. He was reminded of his childhood back then.

His curiosity was peaked when he realized that she befriended his sensei's son causing a lot of students to despise her yet she didn't bat an eye. From the looks of it, she doesn't have much of a circle of friends, just around 3 probably.

She's not shy but, she's not outgoing either, just right in the middle. She's always cool-headed, calm, and collected a perfect personality for a shinobi, scratch the part of her unusual behavior when it comes to him.

He often times disguises himself with different appearances just so he can talk to her because whenever he catches her looking at him, she'll run away all of a sudden.

He started to believe that she might be scared of him. But what was to be afraid of when he didn't even have an ounce of resolve to bring any harm to her?

When the third Hokage once again forced him to teach a team of genin, he really wanted to take in Lhexi. He believed that due to the girl's maturity, she may be the only one who could figure out his test. He was slightly disappointed when she wasn't part of his team but, he love his cute little genins now and he couldn't ask for more.

Due to his busy schedule, he couldn't look after her more often and he was beyond scared and worried when he received the news that team 13's original C-rank mission turned S-rank.

He rushed to their aid almost immediately to find her safe although wounded and battered, she was safe and alive and that's all that matters to him. He was devastated to learn about what happened to her teammate and how hurt she was as she offered a flower to the red-haired kid's grave.

A few days later, he was informed that she was being interrogated and tortured for she was from the Village Hidden by the Waterfalls and she may be a spy. He couldn't do anything but, patiently wait in pain worried as to what could have happened to her.

He visited the hospital once when she was sent there after it was confirmed that the intel was false. He was relieved to find that she was not an undercover operative. He was angered beyond compare when he saw how bad her mental and physical state was that she had to consult a psychiatrist and she had to undergo surgery.

And after all the suffering she went through, all she received was a single apology. This is the dark side of the village that the higher-ups are trying to hide.

He thought it would be great to talk to her about her fear of him. When he confronted her in the dark alleyway, he realized that it was a really really bad mistake to converse with her in a secluded place when she was scared of him.

He watched her run away again and he only smacked his face for coming up with a stupid idea. After that night, he hoped she would speak to him more only to be glared at every time they met.

She even slammed the door shut right in front of his face when he accidentally mistook her room to be Kyuuji's apartment. Anyways, he guess there's a little progress between them.

He was astonished when he witnessed how Lhexi and his students had gotten close in such a short period of time. He was like a proud dad when she defeated her opponent like how a real shinobi would.  He hoped she would open up more and be a little more dependent on others.

He has to teach her that she can't do anything alone and she should value teamwork as much as one kunoichi should.

"Alexa?", he called once again.

This time she opened up her eyes and gave him a smile as she tilted her head to the side.

"Arigatou...", all his worries disappeared with that single word.

Lhexi choked on her own drink when she listened to Sasuke.

She slammed her fist on her chest multiple times. "Sakura won?!"

Kakashi secretly took the chance when the two genins looked away from him to chomp down on the onigiri before he pulled his mask back on.

"Yeah. She won against Ino. She's fighting against Kaori from the Hidden Waterfall Village in the finals.", Sasuke told her before contemplating whether to pat her back or not.

"Then...the whole team 7 is going to the finals?", Kakashi nodded proud and happy at Lhexi's question.

"You seem to be surprised when you heard Sakura won when it was you who told her to avoid stepping on Ino's hair."

Lhexi pointed at herself dumbfounded and Kakashi nodded in return.

"You probably can't remember because you were too sleepy.", Sasuke gulped down water from the same bottle as Lhexi's.

"Is that so...my memories are all fuzzy...", she mumbled to herself as she touched the soles of her boots, shifting on her seat on the rock.

Kakashi stood up, his other hand holding his favorite book. "Then shall we continue training?"

Sasuke and Lhexi both stood up from the ground dusting away the dirt before nodding.

Lhexi silently watched from afar as lightning crackled on Sasuke's hand, and Sharingan activated. She memorized the hand seals and was thinking if she could also do the same.

Kakashi taught them different techniques. Sasuke learned the Chidori because he was the only one who could learn it thanks to his Sharingan. As for Lhexi, she's studying various seals and techniques.

The silver-haired jonin sighed. His teaching abilities were valid and useless considering the two learned quickly without much problem. Sasuke just needed more practice and Lhexi absorbed all the information in her head like a sponge.

Since these two received cursed seals from Orochimaru, the older man took up to himself to go watch over them.

Even though Lhexi's attention was on the scrolls and books, Kakashi could notice how she threw quick glances whenever Sasuke performed the Chidori once again.

There was a small flicker of jealousy in her eyes and it's most probably because she can't learn the same technique due to the tunnel vision effect. She buried her nose on the scroll once again and Kakashi couldn't help but sigh.

Since it has come to this, he should probably teach her an A-rank ninjutsu.

"Lhexi.", Kakashi nodded at the name, it was more suitable to call her that way. "Come over here."

Lhexi walked towards the male Jonin.

Kakashi straightened his posture a little before taking out something from his pouch.

Lhexi reached for the square paper in Kakashi's hand.

"Do you know what that is?", Kakashi asked as he coughed a little ready to educate her about it.

"Yes. A chakra paper. It determines your chakra affinity whether it would be Fire, Wind, Lightning, Water, or Earth."

Kakashi sweatdropped a little overwhelmed, she knows almost everything.

"Alright then, pour a little chakra on the paper."

Lhexi nodded. Because she was still a genin she couldn't buy any chakra paper from the weapon's shop. She did as she was told and Kakashi's eye widened.

"You already developed your secondary affinities?", he asks as he stares at the split paper, the first half wet and the other side crinkled.

"It seems so...but, I wasn't aware I also had Lightning."

Kakashi placed his fingers on his chin, his eye trailing towards the girl in deep thought. She had more potential than he thought. She would definitely surpass him in the future.

"Alright then, I'll teach you an A-rank Ninjutsu.", he faced a different direction and began performing hand seals so fast that only Lhexi saw was a blur. He wants to amaze her once in a while.

"Lightning Style! Lightning Thunder Running Beast!"

A flash of light erupted and blue electricity circled around before it turned into a shape mirroring the same features of a tiger only bigger. It ran and jumped into a nearby boulder and shattered it upon contact before it dispersed leaving the ground with a crater.

Red tints dusted the girl's cheeks in amazement.

"Woah!", she immediately covered her mouth before she could squeal louder. "Sugoi! Kakashi-sensei! Can I really learn that technique?"

Kakashi was amused at the girl's reaction before he nodded.

"It requires time and effort to master that technique. But, even if you have those two, talent is still needed.", Kakashi's voice was stern. "But, I'm sure you can do it, Lhexi.", he gave her a close-eyed smile.

"Then if I master the Lightning Thunder Running Beast, will you also teach me the Chidori?", she was excited and Kakashi could feel it even from a distance.

He smiled before answering. "Of course.", Lhexi's hope was crushed the next moment. 

"Not."

She bit her inner cheeks and looked away feeling dejected.

"Mah, Mah. Don't be so mad now. The technique I just showed you has the same difficulty as the chidori, since it requires deep concentration and prowess. Besides, you need the Sharingan to be able to use the chidori. Even if you can perform that technique, it will surely hinder your unaided eyes."

The silhouette placed his hand on top of the girl's head patting her, a habit he created over these days.

Lhexi looked down staring at the group of ants walking on the ground. 'If only I have the Seiryuugan...'

"I get it...", she whispered solemnly and Kakashi gave her a tired smile.

A few days [assed, Kakashi and Sasuke were shaken to their feet when Lhexi performed the A-rank Ninjutsu perfectly and without fail. Numerous boulders were already destroyed and another one crumbled down.

Lhexi gave them a smile before her vision suddenly got blurry and she fell backward. Kakashi was quick on his feet to catch her on time.

If there's anything that she lacks. It's definitely her average chakra storage.

Her precise control over her chakra makes up for it. Nevertheless, he was proud of her.

Sasuke sighed as he closed his eyes. "Such a reckless idiot...", he whispered in his breath as he saved the photo at the back of his mind of the girl grinning brightly with dirt and mud all over her tattered clothes.

He should probably buy her a box of takoyaki as a treat.

Lhexi stretched her arms as she walked down the empty streets of Konoha, it was already night time and Kakashi instructed her to buy some food and get back to the deserted outskirts of Konoha.

She should have just performed shadow clones that would have been easier, but she wanted to return to the village herself.

Small tippy taps were heard making Lhexi look to the side in question. She approached the other side of the alleyway to find no one.

She scratched the back of her head before smiling silently to herself as she pulled down the sheet that was hiding a brown-haired kid with his trademark scarf.

"What are you doing here, Konohamaru?"

The boy although shocked tried to mask it with composure as he jumped away, crossing his arms.

"HaHaHaHa. As expected from Naruto-niichan's girlfriend you found me kore!"

Lhexi resisted the urge to deadpan at the moment. 'That Naruto....what kind of nonsense is he telling to this boy?'

"And why were you hiding?", she asks making the boy sweat buckets in nervousness.

"Uhm...w-well...", he looked away before coming up with an idea. "I...I was testing your abilities!"

Lhexi placed her other hand on her hip as she bent her body a little to the side. "Oh really?"

"Y-yeah! Ofcourse-kore."

"Then I guess we're done here. You need to return back to your home. Hokage-sama will certainly be worried to find out you're running around the village in the middle of the night."

Konohamaru had a question mark pop out of his head. "What's to be worried about when I'm just in the village?"  

"It's dangerous you know.", she replied.

"Huh? What's dangerous?"

Lhexi realized that this boy had no clue about the dangers that lay inside his village, how much more about the world.

She crouched down and looked at him in the eyes before smiling mischievously. "What if a ghost suddenly attacks you?"

Konohamaru looked back at her with wide eyes as he stepped back.

"N-neechan...", he whispered.

The girl was slightly taken aback, she didn't know Konohamaru would believe her scare joke.

"A ghost...", the boy shivered.

She chuckled a little before ruffling his hair.

"It's a joke!", she beamed until she herself felt an ominous vibe coming from behind her.

"NEECHAN WATCH OUT!"

A pile of sand engulfed the girl and the young Sarutobi felt fear at that moment until he blinked his eyes. He found himself on the wall, being carried by Lhexi's single arm who was unscratched.

"Neechan!", the goggled boy shouted relieved.

Lhexi frowned at the sight of the red-haired genin with a great amount of sand circling around him. His whole body was trembling, controlling his growing unstable bloodlust.

"Subaku no Gaara."

His dark seafoam eyes darted at the familiar girl standing on the wall carrying a child in her arms. His vision was clouded with the desire to kill, that was the only way he could prove that his existence thrives.

He grinned menacingly as he raised his hand, sand particles swirling around his arm before it shot towards Lhexi who pulled out her katana slicing through it.

She landed on the ground and made a protective stance over Konohamaru.

'Gaara's sand is a long-distance attack, I can't risk telling Konohamaru to run away or he might get hurt and, in the worst case get killed. What should I do? Damn it.'

A bid of sweat rolled down to the girl's chin dripping on the ground before she blocked the sand once again with her katana, forming one-handed signs as she did so.

"Water Style: Raging Water Torrents!"

The ground shook as water was released in the narrow alleyway soaking Gaara's sand rendering it heavy and hard to use.

His absolute sand defense covered him immediately protecting him from the wind technique Lhexi casted. The girl clenched her jaw, her attacks were useless against him.

"Shadow Clone Technique.", she whispered, a clone of hers appearing beside Konohamaru in a cloud of smoke.

The clone grabbed a hold of the boy's arm who was still and began to flee, the boy struggled to break free not wanting to leave her alone.

"Neechan! Neechan!"

The clone ignored the boy's retaliation and proceeded to carry him away.

Gaara tried to attack the two only to be blocked by Lhexi's water technique.

"Stand down Gaara. What do you think are you doing in our village, rampaging around?", the red-haired began laughing insanely as he clutched his eyes and Lhexi could only sweatdrop.

To be honest she was creeped out.

"I will kill you with my own hands! That way! That way! I could prove my existence!"

There was a sadistic smile on his face as Lhexi stepped back a little.

Alexa's POV

This guy is a real monster, I'm glad Naruto didn't end up like him. Jeez, do I still have to wait until he changes? Wait that's until pre-shippuden right?

Everyone in the fandom loves him. Because who doesn't?

I know he's a lovable cute panda but, that was when he was a child. And I would have to deal with his craziness until the time he's calm and mentally stable.

Fucking plot.

I was thinking of using Raiton on him but, I only know one jutsu and Kakashi-sensei warned me to only use it twice a day or I'll die with chakra exhaustion.

And I used up one early this morning.

"Sand coffin."

Shit.

I didn't have the time to look down to realize he was encasing me with his chakra for I quickly tried to leap away only to be held still.

Damn it.

Why is this sand stronger than usual?

I look behind his back to see him excavating sand from deep down. Of course, they will have more minerals so they're stronger. And of course I'm gonna burst into a blood explosion sooner or later.

Argh.

I formed the rabbit sign before he completely covered me. I switched myself out with the trash bin and in a split second I found myself behind Gaara, stabbing him in the chest.

"That was a good move.", I heard him speak in a low growl.

"I don't need your compliment right now."

His body disheveled into sand catching my katana, my arms and legs, rendering me unable to move.

"Caught you.", he whispered as he appeared behind me.

I chuckled nervously.

Am I gonna die like this?

Fuck this shit.

I tried to escape only to be thrown against the wall, creating a small crack. Coughing up, I'm glad I encased my body with chakra or I could have resulted in broken bones.

My body was trapped between his sand and the wall, with no room for escape.

My eyes moved towards his figure as he stepped forward, grinning like a maniac.

"Die."
