Chapter 30
20:01, 4 August 2024"I told you to not mess with Jimin, Heeseung! But what the fuck???" Taehyung angrily snarled at Heeseung who just scoffed, letting out a laugh.
"Do you think I'm scared of him, Tae? I can fucking slit his throat if God didn't forbid killing!" Heeseung answered whilst placing the ice pack on his cheek.
"Look, you two are my friends. I can't stand you two fight."
"The boy has it all already. He already had the looks and brains, even dancing too? And hell, even Yoongi fucking likes him." Heeseung said in disbelief as Taehyung looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
"I may flunk math, but I'm not stupid, Tae. Yoongi has been looking at Jimin all the time, instead of me. He looks at him like he had known him for years-"
"They do know each other for years, Hee." Taehyung looked at him again, this time his face was serious. "Trust me, you do not want to mess with him."
****
"I'm gonna kill that bastard." Jin exclaims, standing up, grabbing his spatula as Namjoon pulled his waist.
"Aish, stop that, Jin. Fighting won't change anything, it will just make it worse."
"I just want to teach him a lesson. That punk just laid hands on my Jiminie!" Jin says gritting his teeth as the whole group shook their heads, of course except Jimin since he's in his house, resting.
"Good thing I wasn't there, I would've punched a whole in his stomach." Yungmin grunted
"How's Jimin? Where is he?" Yoongi finally spoke.
"I heard he was home, he's probably resting by now." Jennie said, painting her nails.
"Yeah, he has a fever right now." Taehyung announced as they all shot him a look.
"What?! The boy can't cook, Tae! You should've insisted to go!" Jin says, shaking his head.
"Gorl, I can't cook."
With that, Jin stood up. "Okay, pack the condiments, we're going to Jimin's."
****
Jimin was already laying on his bed, topless. He really tried to shake the memories off of what happened the other day. He was fucking pissed off at Heeseung for punching him.
To note, Jimin had anger issues and he can't control them. If Taehyung and Jungkook didn't pull him away that day, he would've punched Heeseung until he'll run out of breath.
Being in the states weren't easy for him. Forgetting Yoongi was the hardest part even though he had only known him for months back then. The boy felt Yoongi as if he was his home, he was his star, but what did go wrong? He was sure Yoongi loved him, but why was he rejected?
He could feel his heart jump when he heard clanking downstairs. He got off his bed, headed to his drawer where he keeps his guns, as he slowly goes downstairs.
"MOVE OR I'LL SHOOT!" He yelled.
"AAAHHHH!" The whole group except Jin who was cooking in the kitchen yelled. "YOU HAVE A GUN?"
When Jimin realized it was only his friends, he puts the gun down, sighing in relief. He looked at them with mad eyes. "You can't just barge in like that? What if one of you got killed? How did you all even got in?!"
Taehyung held up his hands, showing a key. "Fuck you, Tae."
****
"Eat up!" Jin says, pushing a chicken noodle soup in front of Jimin's.
"I have no appetite, Hyung-"
"Eat up or imma get your gun upstairs." Jin threatened as they laughed.
"How did you even got one in the first place?" Jungkook says amused.
Jimin just rolled his eyes, ignoring the comment. He looks at Yoongi who was fidgeting his fingers, he could feel a pang on his chest remembering the incident the other day. The boy went to Heeseung's instead of him. He silently scoffed and took a sip on Jin's soup.
The hroup settled into Jimin's living room while Jimin laid on the couch, a blanket draped over him as he tried to find some comfort. Jin kept a watchful eye on him, making sure he ate at least a little of the soup.
"How are you feeling, Jimin-ah?" Namjoon asked, concern evident in his voice.
Jimin shrugged, avoiding eye contact with Yoongi. "I've been better."
Yoongi, feeling the weight of Jimin's cold shoulder, tried to find the right moment to speak, but every time he opened his mouth, he lost his nerve. Instead, he sat quietly, fiddling with his fingers.
Jennie, sensing the awkwardness, turned on the Xbox. "Who’s up for some games?"
Jungkook immediately jumped at the opportunity. "Count me in! Tae, you're going down."
Taehyung smirked. "Bring it on, Kook."
The two boys started playing, their competitive banter filling the room. Yungmin and Jennie joined in, making it a full-fledged competition. Namjoon and Jin watched, occasionally throwing in commentary.
Throughout it all, Jimin remained silent, his eyes occasionally drifting to Yoongi, only to look away quickly.
Eventually, Yoongi couldn’t take it anymore. He got up and approached the couch where Jimin was resting. "Jimin, can we talk?"
Jimin ignored him, focusing on the game being played. "Not now, Yoongi. I'm tired."
Yoongi’s heart sank. He had never felt so helpless. "Please, Jimin. Just for a minute."
Jimin sighed heavily, still not looking at him. "Okay, f-fine."
They decided to go to the balcony since it was too loud inside. "I-I just wanted to ask how are you-"
"Yoongi, as you can see, I'm fucking sick."
"N-No! I mean how are your bruises? How did they heal up easily?" Yoongi brings his hand up and caressed Jimin's bruises carefully as the other grabbed his hand.
"S-Stop that, Yoongs. Daehyun had put some cream on it, that's why it healed."
"O-Oh? Really?" Yoongi says, taking one step back.
"Yes, it would've been better though if my friend here could've at least showed up. But no, you went with Heeseung. Why aren't you with him now? I bet he's whining and crying like a baby right now-"
"Are you jealous?" Yoongi cuts him off as Jimin lets out a laugh.
"Me? Jealous? Why would I? Look, we're done 4 years ago, I moved on. You can go and kiss that Heeseung of yours, I don't care." Jimin snarled at him as he walks away but Yoongi quickly grabs his arm.
"Let.me.go." Yoongi lets him go, tears forming in his eyes but Jimin did not care. His pride was too much.
As the evening wore on, the friends continued to eat, play, and bicker, trying to create some semblance of normalcy. But Jimin's silence and Yoongi's forlorn expression were constant reminders of the unresolved issues hanging over them.
Eventually, Jimin dozed off on the couch, exhaustion and fever taking over. Jin draped another blanket over him, and the group gradually settled down, their chatter becoming softer and more subdued.
Yoongi watched the poor boy sleep, a mixture of sadness in his eyes.
*****
A week has passed since Jimin got sick. Jimin was ignoring Yoongi the whole time, still feeling the betrayal he did. Why did he even went to Heeseung like the boy would knock him into pieces? Heeseung can't do that, Jimin was too trained for him to be defeated just.like.that.
Soon, he felt a buzz on his phone as he fished it in his pocket.
Unknown number I thought you'd never come back, Park.
Jimin just smirked at the message. Scoffing, Jimin called Taehyung.
"What's up, Baby J?"
"Can you call Bangchan for me? Thanks."
