Chapter 10

14:40, 31 July 2024

Jimin groaned, feeling as if his head had been hit by a 10-wheeler truck. He opened his eyes and scanned the room, spotting a wall clock.

Guess I have to skip school this time.

As he was about to roll out of bed, he felt someone hugging him like a koala.

Please don't be a girl. Please don't be a girl. Please don't be a girl...

Not that he hated girls, but he already had his eye on someone. He looked slowly at the person who was hugging him. It was Yoongi.

What on earth just happened?

The confused boy looked at his clothes.

These are not my clothes!

"DID WE FUCK?" he screamed, startling Yoongi and waking him up from his dream.

"W-What?" Yoongi said, sitting up and rubbing his eyes as he yawned. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"We have different clothes. Oh my god. Did I just fuck a boy?" He peeked inside his shorts. "IT LOOKS LIKE MY PENIS IS THROBBING, YOONGI! AHHHH."

"Shut the fuck up. We did not fuck. You're just hard, that's why it's throbbing, you motherfucker!" Yoongi screamed back, looking at the bulge in Jimin's shorts. "Yuck! Get that thing out of my face!"

Since Jimin and Yoongi had skipped school, Yoongi decided to show up at the café where he worked to earn some extra money. As soon as he got there, there were already plenty of students lining up.

"Woah? Why are there suddenly so many customers, noona?" Yoongi asked as he took over the counter. "Is Jimin not coming to help?"

"Ah, Jimin won't come in today. He's sick; he's at Namjoon's," Minji answered shortly, busy preparing an order. "I'm glad you came in, though. You should go and visit him later."

"Why would I do that? And two, I'm not familiar with the road to their house. Three, I have no car," he replied, listing down customers' orders.

"His car's parked down there; you can just use it. He left it here earlier. He was really planning to help, that's why he came. But his fever's very high. We can't let him go to his dorm alone; the boy can't cook!" Minji said, putting a clear liquid inside the blender. "I made Namjoon fetch him."

"I can't drive!"

"Bitch, you're 19 and can't drive? Do you even have a license?"

"How could I have a license? I don't even own a car!" Yoongi said, giving her a blank expression. "I don't have to visit him, you know."

"Eh, fine, suit yourself."

Yoongi found himself at Namjoon's front door, waiting for someone to open it. Yes, you thought right. He felt too bad not to visit after all Jimin had done for him. Visiting wouldn't hurt, right?

"Ah, Yoongi-ah. Are you here for Jimin? He's upstairs!" Namjoon said, smiling and showing his dimple.

"Why do you know I'm here for him?"

"Uhm, it would be weird then if you were here for me?"

"Aih, never mind. Upstairs? Where I left him yesterday?" Yoongi asked as he came in, and Namjoon nodded. He made his way to the room Namjoon had mentioned.

As soon as he opened the door, he was greeted by Jimin, who had his back turned and was topless. "Shit, Jimin? Why are you topless? You're making your fever worse." Yoongi closed the door and headed to the sick man.

He touched Jimin's forehead; it felt like he was touching a burning kettle. He smacked Jimin's arm, but Jimin didn't react. He just looked at Yoongi, shivering.

"Jimin-ah! What the hell?" Yoongi shouted as he grabbed a thick blanket and wrapped it around Jimin. Jimin just looked at him.

The sick man decided it was a good idea to stand up, holding the blanket all the way up, and wrapped Yoongi in a hug, causing them to flop onto the bed. "Hehehe."

"Bitch, what are you doi-"

"I'm cold!"

"Well, you're hot!"

"Thank you."

"That's not a fucking com-"

"Come on, friends can hug, can't they?" Jimin said, hugging the older one tighter.

"You're strangling me! Have you even eaten yet?" Yoongi asked the younger.

"Nope."

"How? You're in a millionaire's house!"

"He can't cook, idiot. Namjoon would burn the house down 100% if you left him in the kitchen alone."

Yoongi sighed and disentangled himself from Jimin's grip. He sat up and looked at the younger boy, who was still shivering under the blanket.

"Alright, stay here. I'll go find something for you to eat," Yoongi said, getting up from the bed.

"Thanks, Yoongi," Jimin mumbled, his voice weak.

Yoongi left the room and made his way downstairs to the kitchen. Namjoon was there, rummaging through the fridge.

"Hey, Namjoon. Do you have anything easy to cook for Jimin? He needs to eat something," Yoongi asked.

Namjoon turned around, holding a container of leftover soup. "Yeah, we have this. It's chicken soup. Just heat it up."

"Perfect," Yoongi said, taking the container. He found a pot and poured the soup into it, then placed it on the stove to heat up. As he waited for it to warm, he looked around the kitchen, noticing how well-equipped it was. Despite Namjoon's apparent lack of cooking skills, the kitchen had everything one could need.

Once the soup was heated, Yoongi poured it into a bowl and grabbed a spoon. He carried it carefully upstairs, back to Jimin's room. Jimin was still lying in bed, looking exhausted.

"Here, sit up and eat this," Yoongi said, helping Jimin prop himself up against the pillows.

Jimin took the bowl and spoon, his hands trembling slightly. He started eating slowly, savoring the warmth of the soup. Yoongi watched him, relieved to see him eating.

"Thanks, Yoongi. You're really good at taking care of people," Jimin said between spoonfuls.

Yoongi shrugged. "Just trying to make sure you get better. You scared us all with that fever."

Jimin smiled weakly. "I'm sorry for causing trouble."

"Don't apologize. Just focus on getting better," Yoongi replied, sitting on the edge of the bed.

After Jimin finished the soup, he leaned back against the pillows, looking more relaxed. Yoongi took the empty bowl and set it aside.

"Try to get some rest. I'll be here if you need anything," Yoongi said softly.

Jimin nodded, his eyes already drooping with exhaustion. "Thanks, Yoongi."

Yoongi watched as Jimin drifted off to sleep, feeling a strange sense of protectiveness over the younger boy. He stayed by the bedside, keeping an eye on him, determined to make sure he recovered fully.

As the afternoon turned into evening, Yoongi remained vigilant, occasionally checking Jimin's temperature and making sure he stayed hydrated. Namjoon checked in on them a few times, bringing extra blankets and offering his help, but Yoongi assured him that he had everything under control.

Later that night, as Yoongi sat in a chair next to the bed, he thought about everything he'd learned about Jimin. The scars, the struggles with his family, and his dreams. He felt a deep respect for the younger boy's resilience and determination.

Jimin stirred in his sleep, mumbling something incoherent. Yoongi reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair from his forehead, feeling a strange warmth in his chest.

Suddenly Jimin grabbed Yoongi's hand and pulled the older boy into the bed, wrapping his strong and muscular body around Yoongi's smaller figure. "Stay here, please?" Jimin whispered, his voice tinged with vulnerability.

Yoongi's heart skipped a beat at the closeness. He hesitated for a moment, feeling the warmth of Jimin's body against his. "Alright," he said softly, settling into the embrace. "But only until you fall asleep."

Jimin's grip tightened, and he buried his face in Yoongi's shoulder. "Thank you," he murmured. The comfort of Yoongi's presence seemed to soothe him, and his shivering gradually subsided.

Yoongi lay still, feeling Jimin's breaths slow and deepen as he drifted back to sleep. Despite the initial awkwardness, he found himself relaxing into the embrace, his own eyes growing heavy with fatigue.
