☆4 - The great gathering.☆

11:16, 27 April 2023

The group of cats were racing through the pine-filled territory like ravenous dogs did as the pack chased unfortunate hares. As they all ducked and pummeled through the tunnel underneath the thunderpath, Corvidstorm realized this was only the second gathering he'd been to as a warrior.I've really only been a warrior for three moons. Still, it seems like five leafbares since I got my full name.

He nearly bumped into Ratstalk as the group skidded to a halt at the edge of Fourtrees. By the smell of it, they were last to arrive. Whilst Shadownclan waited for the signal of Meadowstar - a flick of the tail - Corvidstorm was bringing back some nostalgic memories.

The last time I was here, everyone cheered when Meadowstar announced me being a new warrior. I didn't really interact with anyone though. He narrowed his eyes and furrowed his braws, trying to think. It was all so loud. I remember I stayed very close to Marigoldpelt. Maybe I should interact with the other clan cats a bit? Just make some connections or something.

Meadowstar flicked his tail, and the cats started pouring down the edge of Fourtrees, entering the gathering.

It was crowded. Cats were filling up every whisker-length of available ground, and Corvidstorm was being pushed to all sides. He finally found a place to sit, and he looked around a bit.

Let's see if I still know the names of the leaders. The cat most to the left had a thin posture, long legs and a grey fur. That would be Greystar, of Windclan. Then, the golden coloured she must be Honeystar of Thunderclan, and that would mean the last cat would be Otterstar. And Meadowstar, of course. The cream tom was waiting for everyone to quiet down a bit.

Corvidstorm looked around once more, and noticed a pretty, brown cat with a scar running from their cheeck to their chest. That looks like it hurts. He flicked his own torn ear, and stared at the cat. Then he sniffed the air. They smell like a she.

The brown she turned her head and made eye contact with Corvidstorm. She smiled, and stood up to walk over to him.

"What'cha looking at? Pretty scar, innit?" She smiled and purred at herself. "Your scar 's pretty too." She looked at his torn ear. Corvidstorm was baffled. Is it allowed to be so friendly to a cat from a different clan? "You have pretty fur." He said, trying to return the compliment.

The she purred. "Think ya mean handsome. My name's Hollyflame, what about you?"

"Handsome? I'm sorry, I didn't know you were a tom! My nose must have fooled me." Mousedung. He's going to get angry at me for real.

Instead, the tom purred, grinning. "Ya nose didn't fool nobody. It happens all the time - I never found a way to ridden myself of the foul smell of she's." He chuckled. He must have seen Corvidstorm's confused expressions, because he explained.

"I was born a she, but in reality I am a tom. That's where I got my pretty scar from. My mum did not like it when I told her to call me a tom. She's died two moons ago though."

"Uhm. Okay. I'm Corvidstorm." "Corvidstorm! That's a pretty name for an' pretty tom, innit? You ShadowClan cats are always so fancy with your names." Hollyflame chuckled.

He's such a nice tom. I like him.

Wait, I can't like-like him! He's a tom! And from another clan! He shook his head feverishly, trying to get rid of any weird thoughts. He sighed.

"Hey, shh. The meetin' is starting." Hollyflame bumped his shoulder gently against Corvidstorm's.

Meadowstar spoke up first.

"All is very well in ShadowClan! We have two new Warriors, Appleleap and Ratstalk."

Cheering and chanting erupted from the cluster of cats.

"We fought off a fox two sunrises ago. No damage done other than one of our beloved warriors losing a bit of ear."

Several cats turned to look around to see who it was, some of them looking at Corvidstorm and his ear.

"Hey, that's you, innit?" Hollyflame whispered, whiskers touching the side of Corvidstorm's cheeck.

Corvidstorm nodded silently. "The fox came from the ThunderClan territory, and he also fled back into ThunderClan territory." Meadowstar nodded his head to Honeystar to be the next to talk, who dipped her head.

"Very well. I assume this is the fox we chased of the territories for good yesterday, so no one should be lying awake thinking about it. Prey is running like water in a stream, but our former Deputy passed away. Please welcome our new deputy; Pinestem!"

Cheering erupted once more from the clearing, the loudest yowls could be heard from ThunderClan.

Corvidstorm's gaze moved to a tall, white she that was sitting proudly underneath the big rock. That must be Pinestem.

Otterstar continued. "There's as much fish in the river as there would be during Greenleaf, and we don't expect them to get any less fat during leafbare. We also have two new kittens: Blackkit and Streamkit!" Happy purring could be heard from all sides. Kittens were always a nice thing to hear, but leafbare was coming on.

What if they freeze to death? Prey wouldn't be an issue, RiverClan cats are always plump, even if there's a tail-length of snow everywhere.

Greystar spoke up as Otterstar was finished.

"Prey is running well with us too, and we haven't had any casualties other than a twoleg with a dog. They went off the moors rather quickly, and nothing happened."

"Well then, are we finished?" Meadowstar asked. The other clan leaders nodded, and so the Gathering was dismissed.

[A/N] Okay I know this chapter is pretty boring as it's just mostly Corvidstorm's gay panicking but have it anyway. ~ Blahaj-ikea.
