21:23, 10 March 2021Amora
I let a quiet breathe as I held onto the railing, quietly stepping down onto the main floor.
I looked around before cautiously walking into the kitchen, and smiling to myself once I seen it was empty.
I walked over towards the fridge, beginning to take a few things out before jumping back once the door opened.
"Oh! Morning dad!" I piped out, putting on a nervous smile.
"Here's your tea, and you also got a letter from Mr. Barnes this morning!" I rambled, handing him his cup before smoothing out the fabric on his shoulder.
"Amora, why did I get a call that you were cheating in class yesterday?" He questioned, giving me a stern look that made my heart thump out of my chest from nerves.
"Ugh! Dad it wasn't my fault. Mrs. Stacy mentioned not a thing about that test! It was my last solution!" I blurted following behind, as he paced around the room.
"What have I told you about this before?" he questioned, placing his hands on his hips.
"If I'm gonna cheat, don't get caught! I know I know!" I pouted, with a sad huff after.
"I'm not happy with you right now. I may just send you to do some charity or help out with that daycare down the street" he adjusted his glasses, shaking his head disappointingly.
"What! But dad, you know how I hate those ankle biters!" I frowned, walking over towards the closet and taking out his suitcase.
"Exactly, we will talk about this later but for now I have to go" He quickly fixed his tie, before grabbing his coat from off the hanger.
"Fine!" I groaned, frowning slightly."Also you got a call from grams, she didn't sound to happy with you either!" I sighed, handing him his suitcase before letting him walk out the door.
——
"Well I totally chocked, I'm pretty sure I'm so grounded now" I sighed, fluffing up my hair into the mirror.
"All because that moron couldn't give just a couple answers!" I groaned, slamming the door angrily.
"I know, but he's kind of cute don't you think?" She asked suddenly, following behind me.
I paused in my tracks, immediately whipping around to her.
"Please tell me you did not just say that right now!" I gasped, dropping my mouth in disbelief.
"What? I mean, every girl in this town practically has the hots for him! That doesn't happen for no reason y'know?" She rose an eyebrow, nudging my arm.
"Yes, that's because they must be blind, delusional, and totally insane!" I exclaimed, flailing my hands around crazily.
"Awe you think I'm cute?" A voice asked from behind us, making us both look back.
"Actually you dimwhit, I said the complete opposite?" I rolled my eyes, immediately being annoyed by his presence.
"If you think I'm cute, just say that?" Benny flashed a small smirk, taking a couple steps forward.
"If you're delusional and a total moron, just say that?" I mocked him right back sarcastically.
"Now, move you're buggin' me already" I rolled my eyes, waving my hand to shoo him away.
He simply rolled his eyes before taking off down the hall towards the rest of his sandlot rats.
I shook my head unlocking my locker, and pulling out my bag before turning around to see Carrie staring off.
"Carrie? You alright?" I questioned, waving my hand to her her attention."What did I say about your eye drops! Use 3 drops or your eyes will totally dry up!" I groaned, turning her head towards me.
"What! Oh yeah no I'm totally fine" she smiled once she snapped out of it.
"What we're you even starin' at then?" I asked, throwing the bag over my shoulder.
"Oh you know just" she trailed off, looking over towards the sandlot crew that was chattering away.
"Oh god Carrie! Snap out of it, not those dogs" I gasped, throwing my head into my hands.
"I know I know! But I truly can't help it, yeah-yeah is way adorable!" She smiled, making me groan even more.
"Goodness Carrie, you're killing me here!" I shook my head before linking arms with her.
We walked down the hall together, before stepping into our classroom.
"Mrs. Stacy I know what I did was wrong, but can't you just let it slide this one time? I really can't have an F right now!" I explained, as she groaned being tired of my ramble.
"Amora, dear. I'm sorry but you gotta learn you can't just bribe and manipulate everyone to get away in life!" She shook her head, slipping on her glasses.
"Sure you can! You know that's how I actually got these pumps? Bribed a guy for just 20!" I smiled, lifting up my leg to show her the shoes I had on.
"Amora. Please sit" she ordered, pointing at my desk making me groan.
I sighed walking over yet pausing once my eyes met with a familiar, particularly annoying girl who sat behind my desk.
I took a breathe hoping to calm myself, as I sat down and immediately looked to Carrie.
"Why is she here?" I whispered, nodding my heads towards the chair behind me.
"She just got moved to this class. Can you believe it!" Carrie explained, with an annoyed groan before we both sat back in our seats.
I sighed as I pulled out my nail filer beginning to file my nails, when Mrs. Stacy stood up.
"Alright alright! Who do we still have to share?" She questioned, looking around for an answer.
"Amora?" She asked, crossing her arms as she waited for my answer."Yes?" I respond simply, still looking down at my nails.
"The project? Have you done it! It's on what you think is wrong with this school!" She explained, placing her hands on her hips.
"Oh! I have much to say about that!" I smiled looking up and slipping out of my seat.
I cleared my throat as I walked towards the podium, resting my arms on top.
"Let's see" I trailed off, tapping my chin."Well first I would say that the girls restroom is completely awful! I mean we have to pay 25 cents to get the necessities we desperately need!" I exclaimed, flailing my hands around.
"Also, the lunch. Absolutely despicable! How can you expect us to eat that gross soggy bread they always serve!" I gagged, motioning my hands dramatically.
"Ugh! Don't even get me started on physical education! Useless, and the uniforms are totally gross" I rambled, shaking my head disappointingly.
"Not only that! But they should so have some sort of fashion class. I can't help everyone with that myself! I swear if I see another flannel I'm gonna puke!" I groaned, shuddering in disgust.
"And so, in conclusion. This school totally reeks! And absolutely needs a total makeover!" I finished, slamming my hand onto the podium sternly.
"Well. I think that's all Mrs. Stacy?" I breathed out, as she rubbed her temple tiredly.
"Yes, thank you Amora for that.. hate speech" she sighed, patting my shoulder.
The girls in the classroom erupted into applaud, making me smile proudly as I walked back to my seat.
"What the hell was that!" The girl, Aubrey spoke from my behind me.
"What? I was just being honest" I rolled my eyes, as Carrie clapped when I sat down.
"Yeah, the assignment was to talk about what's wrong with the school. Not talk about pads and periods that's gross. Also, I'm wearing a flannel!" She spat, making me groan from annoyance.
"Exactly, the exact problem. Now shh you ditz, you're going to give me a headache!" I waved my hand, turning away to ignore her.
