T H I R T Y F O U R

1 week later

A L E X A

"I never liked it. It was a weird texture and the taste was just awful." I made a disgusted face as Michonne brought up sushi.

"You're insane, I loved it." She sat down on my bed as I sorted all of the new guns we received from the kingdom out on my floor. They found loads of guns, enough to stack hilltop and the sanctuary.

"Okay, sushi.... which guns do we use now and which guns do we save for later?" I was on my knees, my hands on my thighs as I used them for support as I looked around.

Michonne sat next to me, observing with me."These belong here." She spoke to herself, moving a few guns around.

"These should be used now, for scaring purposes, right?" I pointed to the right.

Michonnes eyes followed my finger."Yeah, those will do. These need to be saved for later. They've got extended clips, better scopes, better fire rate." Michonnes hand hovered over the guns on the left.

"Perfect... Dwight, simon, come get these guns and sort them out. The guns on the right are to be put in the front of the armory, the ones on the left go to the right side of the armory." I spoke into the walkie talkie I had set next to me.

"Got it. On our way."

I ran my fingers through the roots of my hair, pushing it out of my face. "Are you stressed?" Michonne questioned."More of our men were killed last night." I whispered.

"Who?" Michonnes brows furrowed."Mark, Kane, Daniel and Jeremy." I sighed. They were scavenging and they just got killed.

"We always need to be prepared. There's something really big coming... something not good." I raised my brows.

"Nothing we cant beat, Alexa. They don't know what we can do... they don't know what you can do." She could tell how nervous I was.

"Dad was the only reason I was confident last time and I was barely confident.. how am I supposed to do this without him?" This was my first fight without him. I didn't know how to process that.

The last time we spoke before he was bit was when I got my stitches out. We told each other we needed each other.

Who would've known that it would be the last time I would say it. Who knew that would be the last time he kissed my head.

I was overwhelmed. I needed his help. I needed to know he was still with me to get through this.

"You have us. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for." Michonne placed her hand on my shoulder.

"We stand with you, we fight with you, we survive with you... we win with you. This is your show." She whispered the last part.

I smiled lightly, placing my hand on top of hers.

"This is our show." I took a deep breath in."Yeah, yeah it is." Michonne nodded.

"Guns guns guns!" I heard laughter as my door opened. I peered up, seeing Dwight, simon, and Kyle.

"Hi boys. Come and collect. Like I said, the ones on the right are in the front of the armory and the ones on the left to the right side. Be careful and don't drop them." I stood up, as well ask Michonne.

Dwight, simon, and Kyle began collecting the guns orderly and bringing them out of my room.

Once my floor was cleared of the guns, Michonne and I stood in the middle of my room.

"Carl and rick are outside helping in the front. They gave some supplies to the kingdom and hilltop." Michonne informed me.

"Yeah I sent them out to give the other communities ammo and more food. We're running low, we need to go get some more." I folded my arms over my abdomen.

"We'll figure out where to go... things are starting to get empty around here. I'm worried." She confessed.

"I know, we've gone through all the stores around here. We're gonna have to start going even farther... it's a risk but we've got to do it in order to survive." I ran my fingers through the roots of my hair.

"But we'll be okay. We'll manage. We always do." I added.

"Somehow we always do." Michonne repeated with a smile.

I grinned back, nodding slightly. "You seriously don't like sushi?" Michonne brought up after a few seconds of silence.

"Totally disgusting. Even if it was all that was left in the world, I would never." I chuckled."You're so full of shit, you'd have to eat something!" Michonne exclaimed.

"I'm serious! It's so gross." I laughed, making a disgusted face once again."I think surviving is more important." She snickered along with me.

"My dad loved sushi. He always made it for my mom, but he would make me chicken every time and wrap it in rice so I would feel better about eating it." I unfolded my arms, scratching my upper arm.

"That's smart... my son never liked his vegetables, typical... but I would always bribe him with ice cream after, though he rarely got it, he fell for it every time." Michonne reminisced with me.

I missed my dad terribly still. It hurt every second of the day, but the family I had now helped me pull through.

"Kids are so gullible, especially for ice cream. I miss ice cream so much." I groaned, leaning my head back."I miss hamburgers." Michonne admitted.

"Me too!" I groaned even louder, putting my hands on my stomach.

"Maybe one day we can all have a huge hamburger dinner together. Maybe the world will come back." I added, looking at Michonne.

"We will. All of us. All of us as a family." She nodded.

"We're gonna make it, Michonne." I squinted my eyes slightly. "I know we are."

"Alexa, sightings of people surrounding around the woods, want us to check it out?"

My brows furrowed and I grabbed the walkie."Get as many men as you can. New guns just came in, get armed and let me know ASAP." I spoke into the small radio.

Michonnes facial expression went just like mine. Confused and worried.

"Alright, got it. All watch out to the perimeter n-"

Frank was cut off by an extremely loud explosion that shook the building. My eyes immediately went wide and I ran towards my window.

All I could see was smoke. Not again.

Not again.

Not the fuck again.

How could such a good day turn to shit."Shit." I mumbled to myself.

"Everyone get armed and get ready for a fight! Drifters are here!" I yelled into the walkie talkie, then tossed it on my bed.

Another explosion blew, the vibrations much more powerful.

My heart began to race, flashbacks from the night at Alexandria running through my mind.

"Alexa, let's go!" Michonne grabbed my upper arm.

I felt a drop in my chest as I was pulled by Michonne.

All I heard were screams and yells of panic and instructions. Michonne and I jogged out of my room and to the main area. I saw my people running out with guns and heavy firepower.

Another explosion set off, alarming everyone who was in this section.

"Michonne, find rick and Carl, now! Get to the armory and arm yourselves." I demanded.

"Where are you going to go?" She asked, clear concern written along her face.

"Just go, now!"

I'm predictable
