Chapter 77

Michael's POV

When Sean stopped by earlier to drop the kids off because there was a business-emergency that required Maeve's undivided attention I first grew suspicious that something was up.

When then my team stormed into the house in the middle of the night when the kids were already asleep and I was watching a movie with my wife, I knew my feeling was right.

Before I could protest they already switched channels and my eyes met a familiar foto of Maeve that instantly brought up the memory of the end of the first leg of my dangerous tour, years ago.

Exhausted from today's show I ran off stage, where Bill immediately passed me like always. But instead of the exit he was leading me towards my dressing room.

"What's going on Bill?" I asked on the way but he just shook his head.

"I really don't want to know" I heard him whisper before he pushed me through the door, that was slammed shut as soon as I went through.

"What the-" I gulped hard as my eyes landed on my wife who sat crossed legged on a chair. My eyes trailed down her bare legs until I saw her feet in stilettos.

My eyes flickered to hers. "Hello superstar" she smirked at me. Her hair hung loose under one of my hats. Her upper body was covered in my jacket, the black glittery one I use for billie jean.

My imagination was killing me as I painted pictures of what my wife wore underneath my jacket in my head. I hoped for nothing.

For a split second I needed to look away, I needed to check if it was real and when I looked to the side, I noticed her camera laying on the table.

A smirk appeared on my lips at the imagination of conserving this moment for a lifetime as I grabbed the camera.

With one eye looking through the lens I bent down on one knee, snapping a picture of my beautiful wife. She rested her hand on her crossed knees and as I recognized my sparkling glove, I smiled even more.

Her eyes were filled with lust as she started to bite her lips which I watched through the camera lense. When she sat up straight, starting to open one button after the other, I didn't dare to blink as I observed her every move through the camera, snapping a picture every now and then.

She tossed the jacket to the side before she leaned forward, holding on to the chair in between her legs that now were spread wide apart. All I could focus was her chest and the way her skin glowed in this light as I snapped one last picture before letting the camera sink from my eyes to reveal the real scene in front of me.

The picture of Maeve posing naked for me being shown in national TV made me stop. It wasn't until my wife nudged my side when I registered what was going on.

Jumping off my seat I quickly ripped out all my photo albums looking for the one where I kept these pictures hidden for when I wanted to see them.

But when I flickered through the pages in a desperate attempt to find it, I realized it was gone. With a loud bang the album crashed to the floor, "FUCK" I screamed before I started pacing back and forth.

"WHO DID THIS?" I yelled as I wanted to have someone to blame.

"We don't know" Bill told me in a calm voice.

"Okay" I sighed heavily as I rubbed the bridge of my nose before asking "what do we know?"

But to my surprise there were no answers. "We know NOTHING?"

"She's not here today, Michael!" Ava said as I rushed past her on my way to Maeve's office the next day.

"Where is she?" I turned around to face Ava who was just staring at me.

"Ava, please! I never wanted this to happen, please! I need to tell her that I have nothing to do with this!" I begged, my eyes teary.

Maeve's POV

"I won't do it" I spoke into the phone, my voice loud and clear although I was scared.

Heavy breathing could be heard on the other line. "It's a shame." I heard his voice.

In this moment of uncertainty I gathered all my strength to try and hold myself together.

"Just know, I didn't want to let it go this far! This is your fault, you could've prevented all of this by simply giving in to what I am asking. But now, you leave me no other choice!"

Before I could respond, the line went dead.

"I don't know what's going to happen now" I spoke as I looked at Emily in her wheelchair next to me.

"But how bad can it be? I tried to never do anything wrong, I cleaned up every mess my parents left, there's nothing left. I'm ready, they can't tear me down" I spoke with confidence as I started to believe that there was nothing they could do to destroy me.

The morning after the picture of me posing naked in Michael's signature billie jean outfit got leaked I spent at Emily's side to hide. After I told Alexander I wouldn't fulfill his wish, I turned off my phone since Michael had been calling non stop.

To ease my mind, I started reading Emily a book when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in" I yelled in between the words of the book I was reading.

My eyes were still following the words in the book and I continued reading out loud until the end of the page. That's when I looked up and met Michael's worried eyes instead of Ava's who were supposed to meet me here for lunch.

I froze.

Seeing him wasn't my plan today but he must've convinced Ava to tell him where I was hiding.

Before he could say anything a nurse came in and placed Emily's lunch on the table next to us.

"Thank you" I told her before she left.

"Maev-"

"Don't, I really don't want to talk about it! That's why I told Ava to NOT tell you where I am!"

"I know, I just want you to know that I have absolutely nothing to do with-"

"I know, now stop!"

"You know?"

"Yes, Michael! You did me dirty many many times but you'd never stoop so low. Now drop it!" I raised my voice a little as I walked over to the tray of food to see what Emily was having today.

When I turned around I noticed Michael eyeing Emily up and down.

"Em, this is Michael, my ex-husband, I told you about" I spoke getting her attention as her green eyes met mine.

"Michael, this is Emily, Ava's little sister."

He took a few steps towards her and I watched as Michael without any hesitation took Emily's hand and squeezed it. He wasn't afraid of her, like most people are when they meet someone with a disability. It made me smile.

"Now, Em, I hope you're hungry! I guess you're having pumpkin today!"
