Chapter 14: Love and Blood

Two Months Later

Zara's POV

I've been spending time with my old friends, Jayden and Carson. Jayden started dating Eli, who we found out was Bisexual.

I was talking with Jayden and Carson when I remembered something important.

"I need to call Zane," I say quickly. I pull out my phone and dial his number.

"Hello?"

"Zane, are you still okay?"

"Yeah Zara, I'm fine. Chill out."

"Okay, I just wanted to check. I'm still waiting for Mason's revenge."

Zane laughed. It sounded weird though, different. And he never tells me to chill out.

"Don't worry about it Zara. I'm fine. Now stop worrying about me; it's getting annoying."

What? Zane never calls me annoying. I'm the one person he never insults.

"Zane?" I ask. I need to check something.

"Yes?"

"Could you remind me what my first alter was? We're...um...having an...argument."

"Uhhhh....It was....um....the fighting one. Zion, was it?"

"That's his name. Well...thanks. Bye Zane."

"Bye Zara."

I hang up and turn to Jayden and Carson.

"That wasn't Zane,"I tell them.

"It sounded like him," Jayden said in her jingle-bell voice.

"He was there when I met my first alter. It wasn't Zion; it was Zinnia," I said, thinking.

"Well, it has been two months since what happened with Mason," Carson pointed out.

"I'm going to call Asteria and see if we can track Zane together," I say. I call Asteria.

"ASTERIA!" I scream.

"Ow. What?" She asks.

"Get to the park, now!"

Twenty Minutes Later

After explaining to Asteria

"Well, try it. I can stop you if I need to," Asteria says. I nod and close my eyes.

I'm in a room. It's dark, and hard to move. I'm against a wall, and my arms won't move.

Suddenly, the door opens. Mason walks in and smiles at me.

"Hello Zane," he says. "I just got off the phone with your sister."

I get angry and lunge for him. Sharp pain erupts in my wrists and ankles.

"Don't waste your breath. My plan is almost complete. Soon, I'll replace you," He grins again.

"Zara will know its not me!" I shout.

"I doubt that," Mason says.

"You can't fool her!" I shout.

"Oh, but I already have," Mason says in Zane's voice. " and soon I'll kill and replace you as the one she loves most."

Mason turns to leave.

"Zara Ro'maeve will love me; One way, or another."
