Four

Hurry, hurry.

It was all I could think as I ran through the hallway. I was going to be late for the second day in a row. Struggling to carry all my books and bags I dodged a student and nearly fell into another. The day had begun just as the first.

Jangmin had been called to the principals office to pick up a basketball form. Thank goodness he was exempted from class just enough to get out of being late. I hurried past classes 2-0, 2-1, 2-2. Students stared at me in confusion as I rushed past them. It was three minutes past class start. Crap, I was already doomed; and there was no Cha Eunwoo to save me this time.

"Class 2-3, class 2-3, cla-" I stopped in front of the class in shock. Either I was hallucinating and this was not the correct school, or the teacher suddenly became a stout man and all the students switched classes.

Oh my god.

Class 3-2, not class 2-3. I nearly face palmed right there and then. How could I be so dumb to make such a stupid mistake? Now I was even more late! Quickly I wheeled around and-

"Ah!" I felt my foot trip on the doorstep, making me fall forward, my books flying. This was much worse than I had expected. I braced for the fall, letting out a small childish scream.

Thankfully a hand grasped my arm and caught me, my books falling and scattering across the hall. Well thank god for that. I let out a relieved laugh and looked up to glimpse my savior.

He was hotter than I'd imagined. He had dark auburn hair that was messy and stuck out over his forehead, his eyes were dark and handsome, something about him made me suddenly shy.

"Hey, watch where you're falling." He let go of my arm and scowled at me. Wow... I felt my heart skip a beat. My eyes followed him as he pushed past me into the class. Class 2-3, I mentally noted it. Who was he? I found myself staring.

"Uhm, here are your books." I turned around sharply to see a young girl handing me my books. I bowed to her politely.

"Uh, Thank you." Why was I here again?

Oh wait! I was still late for class! Snapping from my sudden daze, I ran through the halls again. This was so annoying. How did I manage to get two totally different class numbers mixed up?

I was panting and yet again covered in sweat when I arrived to class, bracing myself to face the teacher. The whole class looked up when I entered. She set down the book she had been holding and gave me a long look,

"Miss Lee, is it a hobby of yours to arrive late?" She asked and a few laughs arose from the class. Mrs. Jang sent each of the students a glare.

"Talk to me after class." She turned back to the whiteboard. All eyes followed me as I found my seat next to Eunwoo. He gave me a questioning glance and I leaned closer to whisper,

"Wrong class."

Eunwoo laughed quietly, grinning at me. I felt a bit angry at him for making fun of me but my mind was mostly elsewhere. I chewed on my eraser, thinking of the mysterious guy from class 23. Was he a senior? I was so curious about him, so intrigued by his dark eyes that seemed to hold many secrets.

"Soohyun?" Mrs. Jang was stating my name. I looked up, the class looking at me expectantly.

"Uh, yes teacher?" The students giggled at my words, probably finding it amusing that I hadn't been paying attention.

"The problem on the board." Mrs. Jang was giving me those laser eyes. I looked over at the problem, my mind scrambling to solve it in the fastest time possible. The angry teacher tapped the board and my mind panicked.

"Um, three hundred and sixty four?" It was more of a question than an answer.

"Good." The one word sent waves of relief over me. It was a close call. I felt Eunwoo's eyes on me. I guessed he was curious of why I was such a mess. It was still early morning and I was already making a fool out of myself.

After class the teacher gave me a fair warning, no punishment points added. I figured it was her last warning and if I showed up late again I was doomed. She let me go and I caught up to Eunwoo and Jangmin in the halls,

"Hey what happened this morning?" Eunwoo turned around, walking backwards to look at both of us. Thinking of the situation that morning, I bit my bottom lip in embarrassment.

"I had to pick up a basketball form, did something happen to you?" Jangmin looked over at me in surprise. I felt my face turn red,

"Well, I forgot the number of our class and walked into the wrong one."

Jangmin looked worried, "The teacher looked so mad, did she punish you?"

I shook my head at him, "No, she let me go this time."

Eunwoo turned back around and patted my head, "Well that's good. Don't worry, it's hard to remember at first." I knew he was trying to make me feel better but I didn't think it was a normal thing to forget where your class was. I pushed his hand away,

"Don't touch my hair, you'll mess it up."

Eunwoo crossed his arms and pouted. I felt a smile pull at my lips. What a child he was.

At lunch I felt more hungry then usual, and actually ate something. The guy from class 2-3 was still on my mind and I scanned the cafeteria for him. There, on the far side of the room. He was chatting with two other guys; one that I recognized as Myungjun.

"Earth to Soohyun, what are you staring at?" Sanha tapped my plate with his chopsticks to get my attention. I turned to him.

"Uh, nothing."

"Guys, midterms are coming up in three months and I have C's on all my tests!" Baeksoon sounded devastated. Sanha laughed with his mouth full,

"You're worrying about that already?!"

"Aren't you going to eat?" Jangmin placed a piece of meat on my plate and I looked away from staring at the guy on the other side of the room.

"Why are you so distracted today?" Eunwoo asked me. I looked back at the mysterious boy,

"Hey Eunwoo, do you know who he is?"

"Who?"

"That boy back there, sitting with Myungjun."

Eunwoo nodded, "Yeah, his name's Minhyuk; why?"

"No reason." I looked down at my food and took a big bite.

"Ooh, do you have a little crush?" Sanha teased. I nearly choked my food. Crush? No way.

"He's not even in her class, why would she be crushing on him?" Eunwoo sounded offended. I gave him a look. Why did he care if I had a crush or not? Wait, do I? I remembered the moment in the hall and my heart fluttered again.

Wow, could it be that on the second day of school I was already crushing on some dude?

"I know he's your rival Eunwoo, but it's not like he's some loser. He's the number one in the school, he's handsome, he can play basketball, he can dance, he can rap-"

"Sanha please." Eunwoo gave him a glare and Sanha stuck out his tongue. I nearly laughed at both of them.

"He plays basketball?" Jangmin finally piped up. Sanha nodded,

"He's super good too."

"Him and his friends are like the three most popular guys in the school. Plus, they're all hot. Especially Moonbin." Baeksoon looked like she had hearts in her eyes as she spoke.

"That's stupid, we're cooler than them." Eunwoo still sounded salty and I smiled at his upset expression.

"Are you jealous?"

"No! I'm being serious." He glared at Sanha who was making faces at him from across the table. Looking away from them, my gaze found the guy named Minhyuk again. He was still wearing that cool expression, but when Myungjun said something; a big smile spread over his face. It was a smile that seemed to turn him into a totally different person. He looked innocent and soft, it made my heart nearly skip a beat. I heard a warning voice in my head, telling me it this was a bad idea. He was literally the most popular guy in the entire school.

It was day two,

And I was already crushing on the school's number one.
