14 | the aftermath of it all

06:07, 5 October 2025

When Gi-Hun started the rebellion, Seun-jin insisted on going but Jun-hee told him no due to his wound on the side after being stabbed by glass and a fork. Not to mention his twisted arm on the left.

"Do you think they'll make it?" Jun-hee had asked him but he wasn't sure himself, he had been covering Jun-hee's ears so she wouldn't have to stress from the gunshots heard out there.

"Actually, I'm not sure. But I'm sure a lot of people will, I mean hopefully so." Seun-jin looked at Myung-gi, who was already staring at him, he spoke. "Are you good? The wound is..."

"What about it?"

"It's bleeding again, heavier this time." Seun-jin sighed resting his hand on his injured arm, "You should probably get it cleaned up before it gets worse and you'll lose more blood. I'll come with you."

"You think they'll let us in when they're fighting out there?" Myung-gi looked around, and shrugged. "Probably not but it doesn't hurt to try, and if they say no, just say something fucking stupid."

"Oh yeah? Like what?"

"That you gotta take the worst shit in the world, something dumb you always say. You would know better than I do." Seun-jin patted Myung-gi on the shoulder, "Not a bad idea, that works. Okay then let's go."

"But it is quite rude of you to think everything that comes out of my mouth is stupid. For someone who's done and said way worse. I think you would be the expert in all that."

"Where are you going?" Jun-hee turned her head over to the 2 boys, specifically asking Seun-jin. "Oh, my wound is opening up again. So I'm going to clean it up, he's backup if they won't let us in right my buddy?"

Seun-jin turned to Myung-gi, "Maybe you should stay here with her, she'll probably be scared."

"You sure?"

"What? Are you planning to steal her or something? That's a little suspicious, but I'm sure. I won't take that long anyway." He smiled but it quickly dropped, "Don't try anything stupid making her uncomfortable." Myung-gi nodded hesitantly before sitting back down next to Jun-Hee while Seun-jin made his way to the bathroom.

"Uh, do you, really like him?" Jun-Hee gave him a look from the side, "How many times have I told you this? I do, he's treated me better than you've ever had, just because he's your friend now doesn't mean that I'm yours either."

"I just want to start over, you me and the baby. When we have enough money. And he'sโ€”"

"And he's what? Better than you? Is that all you care about? The money? Have some decency, you don't even care about the baby. I'm not raising it with a piece of trash like you, and that's final, so get that through your head now, Lee Myung-gi."

"Whatcha talking about?" Aera approached the two of them with the fake smile on her face, she looked at Myung-gi. "Where's Seun-jin? I wanna speak to him." Myung-gi looked at Jun-hee, "He's in the bathroom, he'll be back soon."

"What's your business with him? You're his ex girlfriend so stop talking to him." Aera glared at her then let out a laugh, "And you're the reason our relationship ended, so I'm holding you responsible, and you will by my hand, you got that?"

"Don't talk to her like that." Myung-gi defended her, Aera turned to him and frowned, "The words just completely slipped out, forgive me for that, or don't." She gave another look at Jun-hee before walking off.

"His ex is fucking crazy." Myung-gi sighed out of frustration, "Well you don't say?"

โ€”

"Shit..."

It was hard and painful to stop the bleeding, at this point he didn't have much time yet until he died from too much loss of blood, the bandages weren't helping, and surely not a twisted arm.

No matter how many times he would splash water on it. Even after a few minutes it would start bleeding again, he gave up trying to fix it and walked out the bathroom towards Myung-gi and Jun-hee who was more distanced.

"Are you okay? How is it?" Jun-hee asked tugging on his tracksuit, he hid his smile. "Don't worry it's fine, I'm good. But is that Dae-ho over there?" He pointed to him, scattering around taking the magazines from the guards.

"No, don't go over there." Jun-hee stopped him and stood in his place. Hyun-ju came shortly after looking for the magazines that Dae-ho was supposed to get and she was about to head back, instead 149 stopped her, "No, don't die, not like this."

โ€”

When the doors opened the guards came in with the black coffin, usually those were to place the players dead body in, who even knows where they go? Most people never came back, and the X side was much lower. "Why is there only one coffin? I'm confused."

The guards dropped the coffin, Jun-hee was holding his hand, Seun-jin wanted to get a closer look, so he got up stood next to Hyun-ju, Aera followed and Ms. Jang who slowly opened the coffin, only to see Gi-Hun inside unconscious, or maybe even dead.

He backed up a little looking at his body, Jun-hee's hand was shaking in his. "What the? Hell? Is he the only one that made it out?" Hyun-ju checked for a pulse to see if he was alive, she turned back to Seun-jin. "He's alive, I felt a pulse. Help me get him on the bed, quickly."

โ€”

"He was heavy, never again. I mean I would hope not, this man helped us all, he's the reason we're still alive, it would be a shame if he died." Seun-jin hovered over him waving his hand in his face. "Hey mister, are you awake?"

"Gosh you're such a kid."

"Shut your fucking mouth Aera." Jun-hee said to her, Seun-jin raised a brow at her reply, but nonetheless he was proud and smiled, he continued until there was some movement from Gi-Hun so he wasn't drop dead.

Gi-Hun slowly opened his eyes, his vision was still blurred only barely seeing.

"Everyone! He's awake now!" Seun-jin called out, Ms. Jang rushed over crying of joy. "Oh sir You're awake! Are you okay?" Gi-Hun slowly sat up, his rebellion must've been a fail, well it was fail, being the only returning person from the area, he must have survivors guilt now.

"What about the others?" He didn't respond, he stayed silent.

"And Jung-bae?" He also stayed quiet about that, which meant that he was dead, he didn't make it. Was he seriously the only one that survived the whole thing? Now that he thought about it, there were less people on X than O, since no one from that side wanted to help with the rebellion.

The doors buzzed open again, Jun-hee jumped slightly tugging on to Seun-jin's arm. "Are you scared? Gosh you have no survival instincts." He asked with a smirk, "Hey it's not my fault, it was too loud, and you still scream when you see a picture of momo, so you have no reason to talk."

"Fair."

"Congratulations on making it to the next game players, a total of 35 players have been eliminated this round leading to only 60 players remaining in the games, 39.6 billion has been accumulated in total and the money divided amongst each player will be 660 million won."

Gi-Hun got up walking to the guards, "He's drained emotionally, that sucks."

"Why did you keep me alive? Why didn't you kill me? Why are you keeping me alive?" The guards didn't give him an answer and instead pointed and raised their guns at him.

"ANSWER ME! TELL ME WHY!" Gi-Hun pointed the guards gun to his forehead attempting to pull the trigger. "Is he fucking crazy? He's trying to kill himself."

"GO AHEAD AND SHOOT ME, SHOOT ME YOU BASTARDS! KILL ME TOO!"

"WHY DID YOU LET ME LIVE? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?"

He was restrained by the guards on the floor, he was emotionally hurt. He didn't want to continue on in the. "YOU WON, SO GO AHEAD AND KILL ME."

Seun-jin had also been through this type of pain before and the scene happening in front of him painfully reminded him of it, something he'd rather not dwell on and leave it in the past but he couldn't seem to forget about it ever.

His mom was mentally unstable at some point, where she started doing crazy things.

"Seun-jin." His mom called out to him, "Huh?"

"What would you do...If I told you to kill me as a final request, would you do it?" He knew his mom wasn't great, but this was a random question to ask a 5 year old.

"No, I don't want to ever hurt you mom." He noticed her reaching for something in her pocket, it was a gun. She put in his hand and forced him to pull it up to her forehead.

"Come on, do it. I won't be mad."

"Mom...?"

"Are you okay Seun-jin? You don't look well. And you're spacing out again." Jun-hee asked him, he didn't even know he was.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

โ€”

"You will now vote to decide to continue playing the games or end. The voting will be held in reverse player number. Player 456 please cast your vote." He was cuffed to the bed, after the whole situation with the guards he paid no attention to anything around him and didn't even bother, although Seun-jin was confused.

"If you still show no intent to vote by the count of 3 your vote will be considered as an abstention." The guards didn't give started to count while Gi-Hun decided not to engage even by the count of three. The guard held up his hand.

"How do you expect him to vote when he's handcuffed to the bed? Are all of you fucking stupid? You turn into dumbasses when you put those masks on?"

"Seems like you do if you have no way to respond fucking dumbasses, you're all cruel." He ran his hand through his hair from too much stress. Jun-hee patted his shoulder, "It's okay, don't get so worked up, they're not worth it."

"One, two, three...Player 456 has forfeited his vote, it will be counted as an abstention."

"Abstention my fucking ass, he's literally chained like a dog in a cage, how could he possibly get up and vote?" Jun-hee tried any attempt to calm him down but the guards were stressing him more and more, "What are you so stressed about?"

"I know we never had a chance of winning, but look at it now there's no point, look at the O's compared to us, this won't change anything."

"Player 333."

"Player 222."

"Player 149."

"Player 120."

"Player 115."

Aera looked back at Seun-jin with a smug look, before pressing the O button, Aera waved at him but he paid her no mind for what shit she was trying to pull on him and Jun-hee

"Player 111."

"Player 007."

The final vote came down to 18 and 41, the O winning with more votes which meant another game, Seun-jin was still staring at Myung-gi who looked completely embarrassed, shameful.

"So much for being 'friends.' Isn't it?" He laughed, instead of giving him a blow to the face he just wanted to kill him, he shouldn't have saved him in mingle.

"In accordance to your free and democratic vote, we will proceed with the next game tomorrow, thank you." Seun-jin still stared at Myung-gi who was standing on the other side. "Typical."

"And you guys were just starting to become friends. How sad is that?" Jun-hee said sarcastically, which means she wouldn't have to be bothered by Myung-gi, not completely but less at least for now.

"Friends? Who?" He turned to Jun-hee, "You know, you and the so so famous, mg coin."

"He's still an asshole."
