3 | red light green light

"The first game will begin shortly, all players please report to the game arena after all photos are taken."

Seun-jin was walking behind Jun-hee who was walking slower than the others and usually needed more support, it grew concerning to him over time when she randomly stopped.

"Listen, are you sure you're okay? You're acting weird, not like I would know but I have to ask so I can help you out here if you're going to stick with me or if I'm gonna stick with you, since you know me somewhere somehow."

She turned around looking him up and down, sometimes she forgot how good looking he was, this was a refresher. "You ask too many questions you know? But then again I am used to it." He tilted his head in confusion, but before he could ask further she already left to take her picture, weird. He was trying his hardest to remember the girl, slowly it was coming back.

He hurried over to take his picture, trying to take a short time to catch up to Jun-hee, but she just stood there. "Smile." Caught off guard, he stood there with an awkward face before walking off for the next person, creeps.

"Why didn't you go when you were done? Well you walked away, could've saved a stair or 2 or maybe you'd be there already, this is why you don't...I forgot the word, but you know what I mean don't you?" Jun-hee shook her head no, "I can pretend I do, but I don't."

"I wanted to wait for you, that's all, you're the only one I know here, so I trust you." She looked at him with another forced smile to her face. "Just so you know I'm forcing my brain to work to remember you, I think it's working somewhat, I got you in about a few hours or so, I think."

He walked up the stairs behind Jun-hee ranting about how tired he was from walking up the steps as someone with low iron, he could hardly stand it. "This better be worth it, my legs are falling asleep walking, then I feel like falling asleep too but I can't tell if it's the sleeping gas or my low iron, I just wanna be done with this."

"Or maybe you're just, lazy?" Not once ever has he been called lazy once in his life, but he was actually really lazy, he just liked to it deny a lot. "That's not, well never mind, you have a point. But hey, I don't have the best stamina either. It gets depleted faster so it's not on me."

"You're a very clueless person, if you've ever paid attention to yourself, and you're seemingly always awkward, like when you took that picture, and first met me you know." She laughed at him, but he only paid attention to her smile which caught him off guard.

"Wait really? Because I thought there was a flash. I don't like cameras with flashes because I almost got glasses for that reason, I could only see bright white for days, and it was blinding, never again."

"I know, I remember that."

"Oh, You're..."

Seun-jin wanted to jump in happiness when he finished walking up the stairs but he didn't when he saw the big doll at the other end, was this some circus where he had to act as a clown? If it was then he'd be a pro at it anyway, who still falls for scams on YouTube? He did.

"Welcome to the first game, Red Light, Green Light."

Seun-jin smiled, "This game? I was a pro. I beat everyone at my class in this game and no one could beat me, I once beat the fastest kid in my class then everyone was all over me, like I was a celebrity, I mean I still am one but."

He turned over to player Jun-hee for a reply, instead it was something that almost shattered his soul. "I don't think so, you're too full of yourself. The whole class? Seriously?"

"What's wrong with having confidence? That's why most people come out to the public don't you know? Have you not ever done that?" He raised a brow. He was about to speak again until 456 interrupted with his manic yelling, "Everyone!" 456 yelled, running in front of the crowd, "Listen up and pay attention to what I'm saying."

"Listen carefully! This isn't just a regular game if you move, do anything and you're dead! They will kill you!" Seun-jin scoffed at his bluffing, that sounded like absolute bullshit to him."How do you get killed from a game of red light green light? Just follow the rules it's not that hard, unless they're cheating or something by turning in green light."

"How would he even know all of this?" He looked over to Jun-hee, who was just as confused. "Would know unless he's secretly a spy for these people and pretending to be one of us, you never know. Those movies teach you lessons, you just don't pay enough attention."

"You know you've always been...an extremely odd individual."

"You need to believe me!" 456 screamed again, is he serious? Then the doll creepily turned around and the PA speaker turns on. "Those who make it across the line within the 5 minute time limit win. Let the game begin." It cut off, he turned over to Jun-hee who was still next to him.

"Get behind me." He told her with a more demanding tone this time, maybe this guy is right the doll made him creeped out, and it moved too? Is this voodoo? "Oh? Why should I? You suddenly believe him after that shit talk you just dumped not too long ago?"

"Hey forget about that, just do it, if we actually do die then I'll be the one getting eliminated instead of you. That's fair. and you're not in great condition I can tell, follow me like you said you would, already losing the deal?" Jun-hee moved behind him and scoffed, "There was never one."

"Green Light."

"Red Light."

"Nobody move!" 456 yelled out again, A scream came out right next to Seun-jin as he slowly looked over to the girl, she was freaking out. "Shit, I just moved didn't I?" 196 completely freaked out, then she got shot in the head, "That's kind of brutal, over a bee, don't fall for ragebait." He didn't flinch, cause he's seen worse than this, much..

"Green Light."

"Red Light."

Jun-hee came to a close stop behind him.

"You also die if you don't make it in time, the doll is a motion detector but it can't detect what's not visible to it, so if you're short, get behind someone taller than you!"

He felt Jun-hee's hand on his back holding him for support, he was confused. "What happened, are you okay? Are you—" He asked her with concern, "l can't really, I don't feel good..."

"It's okay, you're not gonna die. In any case I'm gonna be the one hit instead, fortunately. But just stay behind me, everything will be fine, I promi—hope so." He held her hand and she squeezed it tighter, goodness my hand is about to explode.

Seun-jin watched as he saw 2 players get pushed over by 230, Thanos. What the hell was he doing? He's gotta be high on something, and it did seem like it. Who would act this jolly in something like this? Can the guards just kill him too?

"Green Light!"

"This is the last one, run for it!" 456 yelled again, but Seun-jin didn't move until Jun-hee nudged him, making him move. "What are you doing? Go dummy." She was harsh with her words, despite almost breaking down 2 minutes ago that's quite a mood swing. "Okay sorry, I didn't know if you were okay to run or not."

Both of them made it to the finish line at the last 15 seconds, Jun-hee landed right on top of him, "Woah, I know I'm a good looking guy but calm down there

"Oh my gosh, shut up." She rolled her eyes, still panting, "I knew you were cocky, but not that cocky, but thank you, for helping me, Seun-jin." "How do you know my—oh you remember me, I don't."

"You still don't?" I didn't think it was that long ago when I broke up with you.

"I have a shit memory come on I don't remember." He got up slowly, looking down at his clothes, "What did we date or something?"

She sighed, "Never mind, you don't get it it's okay. I'll tell you at a later time when we actually have peace, but thank you for helping me back there, but don't ever talk about you dying."

"Why? If you can't live without me you can just say it, It's easy for my mom to, I actually wonder how she's doing, hopefully she didn't die, I actually wouldn't be so sad." He smiled at his own weird joke. Seun-jin never told much about his past, so she never knew his mom and how much he hated her, or anything. One time she had asked to meet her and he said that she was overseas with business.

"But I didn't know you cared so much about me, you were about to break down, it almost sounded like you were crying but I'll try to gaslight myself if you want me to."

"I mean, do you know the space we're in? who wouldn't? I never said I was fearless."

"Calm down I'm only kidding. But all jokes aside, if you really need help, I'll be there for you always, Jun-hee."
