Chapter 57 - 위로 (WI-RO)[Comfort]

07:29, 7 November 2017

Hoseok P.O.V

'It was the right thing to tell him. For sure.'

I laid on my bed, my head started to ache from all the thinking. Maybe Yoongi-hyung was right, Taehyung and Roxi wouldn't be together if they didn't want to. But why is my heart aching all of a sudden? I've already had my chance to tell Roxi how I felt, and that I would support her if she ever got into a relationship. Now, all I need to do is wait, and hope. That's what I'm meant to do after all. The door to one of the bedrooms opened with a click and soft footsteps went past my door all the way to the front.

"Roxi-ah where're you going?"

My heart skipped a beat, just hearing her name had the greatest affect on me. My head tilted slightly off my pillow as I listened to Jin's voice talking to Roxi from the kitchen.

"Back to my dorm, Yoongi-oppa is in there."

"Well alright, make sure to close the door on your way out."

"Okay Jin-oppa."

Just listening to her voice was enough to make me long even more for her. I rest my head back onto my pillow, tilting slightly to my right to catch a glimpse of Jimin's bed. It's been a while since I've seen him, all he's been doing through out the day is practicing. Practice already ended quite a while ago, yet he is still there, working away his struggles. If only I could talk to him like the way I used to before some girl got in between all of us. There's so much tension in the dorm that it's nearly suffocating. Now I understand what Roxi longs for.

'I want things to be like how they used to. I want us all to be friends.'

A chuckle passed my lips, that's such hopeful thinking.

My door opened and I see a mop of blond hair hurry into the bathroom. My eyebrow raises slightly, right when I was getting worried he comes running in.

"Yah, Jiminie, how was practice?"

"Same old hyung."

That's the only reply I would get every time I asked him. I shook my head and got up, Jimin had just finished running cold water over his face. He wouldn't look me in the eye as I watched him from the bathroom doorframe with a straight face. Jimin wiped his face with his face towel and finally turned to me, a little water dripped from his chin as he turned to me. He looked pressured and stressed under my gaze.

"Y-Yes hyung?"

"Jiminie, I want to ask you something."

"O-Oh. Okay sure."

He sits down on his bed, a little shaken from seeing me all serious. A pang of guilt hit the center of my chest when I realized that I must've made him nervous. He ran a hand through his hair a few times before I sat across him on my bed.

"If you're about to scold me on something I swear it was Jungkookie who did it."Jimin blurted, jumping to conclusions faster than I could blink.

"No no, I'm not scolding you."I laugh, seeing him hug a pillow for comfort."I'm just going to ask you a few questions."

"Questions?"he tilts his head to the side as his eyes widen unknowingly.

"I need you to answer truthfully. Promise me that."I say.

Jimin nods and leans forward in curiosity."I promise."

The gears in my mind churned, it was time for me to find out the truth. I clasped my hands and spoke in a soft tone.

"They're about Roxi-ah."

Once I said her name Jimin's face fell into a soft scowl."If you told me this in the beginning then I wouldn't have agreed to promise you anything."

Jimin quickly gets up and places the pillow back on his bed, but he doesn't leave once I continued."You really hate Roxi-ah, don't you Jiminie?"

Jimin froze in his tracks, looking at me with firey eyes as he stepped closer to me."Don't say that. I don't hate her."

"It seems to me like you do."I say, making Jimin puff out his cheeks and plop back onto his bed lazily.

"I don't. I'm just...confused that's all."Jimin sighs."I really like her. But I don't know how to deal with how subborn she is when it comes to love."

"Yeah I get that."I smile,"But I really need to know about these things okay."

Jimin looks at me for a while before sighing and clapping his hands together."I'll just trust you hyung alright."

"Okay...My first question..."I think for a while before speaking with a heavy heart."What happened to Roxi's family?"

And with that the questions and answers went on and on. Jimin spoke truthfully, not hesitating to tell me everything he knew. And finally, I had asked all my questions.

"Thank you Jiminie."I smile, Jimin smiles back.

I guess I relieved him of some things he was holding back for so long."Hoseok-hyungie."

"Yes?"I ask as he fiddles with his pillow case.

"I want to ask you a question too..."he starts.

"Sure, shoot."I say, tucking myself into my bed.

"Hyung, do you...like Roxi too?"

I turn to Jimin who had a serious look on his face."Yes. I love her a lot."

Jimin again reads my facial expressions and nods. Not saying anything else as he got up and walked towards the door.

"Where are you going Jiminie?"

"Practice."

And once the door closed, silence filled the room once more. I guess I did nothing to help the situation after all. My chest suddered as a small sob left my lips. All the emotions I tried to hold in finally released themselves in a single burst. Everything was falling apart. My friendship, my psyche, my hope, everything. After realizing how much I've misinterpreted Roxi's life and how Jiminie was feeling, I noticed how I was never there to help either of them. I was just there, worrying over my minor problems while the two of them struggled on their own. Tears ran down my outer eyelids and I squeezed a pillow next to me to hide my racking sobs.

'I'm useless.'

And now, there is no one to comfort me.
